This saturday will be my last tournament I will ever be playing in, as I'm stepping away from the competitive side of the FGC. I won't be able to make it up for the meetup but I have been grateful to have known some of you for the past year. All of you are indeed awesome, no matter how much we disagree on anything. Some of you should make the trek out here sometime to one of our campus game nights.

I'm debating coming up early for the meetup and staying that evening, though I gotta talk it over with the wife and get her blessing to do so. Could somebody PM me Sunfish's address and parking information if there's any? I'm hype for BBCP, but what I'm not hype about is what you're saying. It was stated multiple times on the event facebook page by TBF staff (Jeff/Kent/John?) that if there was enough interest for BB, there would be a tournament. If you wanted to have a BB tourney, you should have said so on facebook because there were people asking about it! Also, I think someone may be bringing a GG station, but I'm not 100% sure. In the unlikely event I do happen to make it Friday, I'll bring my PS3 and monitor (PS3 should have Guilty Gear on it by then since I'm asking for fighting game stuff for Christmas this year).

sorry for necroing an old thread, but in May I moved to my current house in the middle of BFE and had to give up my nice 50/5 cable internet. I'm pretty sure I'm in the same boat OP was when he posted the topic, but I tend to think my situation is unique. The nearest town that has true broadband access is 45 minutes away in either direction, and I'm 3 hours from Dallas and 6 hours from Little Rock, AR. Both towns have hefty fighting scenes, and while I've been somewhat active on SRK trying to get something going in my area, the response has not been worth the effort I've been putting in. Besides paying for internet access to play in a local store, what options would I have? I can travel infrequently to gatherings and tournaments, but can't go all that often because of monetary issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, just wanted to drop word in that I'll be making a trip into the Metroplex for Barfights. Mightfo asked me the other day via social media when I was gonna come back up to hang with you guys at a meetup. Is there gonna be a meetup during Barfights, or is it gonna be on Friday like I'm hoping?

something I found interesting while watching a day one archived stream linked in the video thread ... they had the win counter set to best 3 out of 5. Please tell me that's the default for the game ...

Jeff and Kent have a awesome facility lined up for UCC, and it does cost a little extra for that awesome facility. Support them however you feel like it!

hey Might, just a general FYI for the crew. I am going to try to come to Dallas on the 8th of September, but that date is completely up to the wife's approval. We're actually supposed to be in Dallas on the 15th for Gearbox community day, but I may stop by that evening after dinner.

Wanna drop this in here, since many of you probably aren't members of the Facebook group ... I'm looking into the logistics of renting a 8-12 passenger van and driving to Evo next year. Granted Evo isn't for another 10 months+, but I'm all about planning ahead. My targeted price per person is $150 on the low end and $200 on the high end. That would be transport to and from Vegas, and whatever fucking about the group wants to do (I highly doubt I'll be allowed to hit the infamous Vegas stripclubs). That cost will also fully pay for the rental as well, since I'm fronting the initial cost of the rental out of my pocket. Let me know what you guys think, and dependent on that feedback, I'll tweak the various aspects.

I'm actually excited for this. The release date at the end is for consoles right, or is that an arcade release date?

I might be in town the weekend of the 18th for DTB and Fight Club. Right now I gotta see where all my money goes as far as bills and stuff goes, but I've got my fingers crossed. Otherwise, it'll be mid-September like I mentioned before.

I'm coming back into fighters after some time away from them. I'm focusing primarily on Chie for the time being, seeing as how I only recognized her and none of the other characters. What exactly am I getting myself into by learning her?

I was watching the Gamespot video about the arcade sticks featured at Evo and saw Transient with the hobo USPS stick. Good to know it found a good resting place and is being built back up.

I know that might had asked if I was coming last month, but I've been real busy with coursework and being broke so that's why I've not been able to come up and play with you guys. After ARK, that might change since my wife and I are planning to do Christmas early (may take her back to Vegas, since she last went before her mom passed). I do plan on picking up P4U though.

Those of you who are competing at Bar Fights tomorrow, good luck! Also, are any of you planning on going to ARK in August?? If so, I can probably give you a lift but I gotta get everything together so I can make the trip.

I don't know when I'll be up that way again, but I'm hoping I can get some time in when I come back to Dallas for Record Store Day. Yay for being outside (in the sun) listening to music while waiting in line to spend money inside over at Good Records~

Wish I could make it out, but it'll be Mid-March before I can hit the metroplex again. Spring Break has me heading down to H-Town for something the wife wants to do, but I'm gonna take a trip out to PZ while im there and get some games in.

I'll have to eventually buy CS2 Extend I think. I'm not that good of a BB player but I'm definitely interested in learning. Might, that's awesome btw! Hopefully I can make another meetup soon. Been coming out to Goons quite a bit, but I'm gonna be switching to Fight Club out in FW to get my game up since I got straight bodied at TBF in everything.

I haven't posted in a while, but I've been busy as fuck. But I'm in town for TBF, so I hope to see you all out tomorrow (if you happen to see me, say what's up. I'll be wearing a Just Do It tee).

I had a blast playing Blazblue and SCV with you guys. Hopefully some of you are gonna make it out to the tourney on the 19th in Addison. I should be there barring any stuff from the wife going down.
