As somebody who used to love to do this (it was also literally my entire strategy) then was told it's a terrible idea; it's a terrible idea. It's unneccesarily high risk when there are better, safer options for when you believe they're going to jump. EDIT: To elaborate...just hit them. Really. 5A or something, I dunno. If you guess air buster and miss, you are putting up a giant flashing sign that says "THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO DO THAT BIG IMPRACTICAL PUNISH COMBO YOU LEARNED IN TRAINING MODE". I learned this the hard way. You will eat so much shit for that.

Driving up every Saturday would be difficult. Every other Saturday is preferable. I'd make every ranbat on an every-other-week schedule, but I would probably have to skip a few if it was every week. Although if a weekly practice session is desirable, I don't see why you couldn't have weekly gatherings there and just run the ranbat every other gathering. Then the option is open for those who would still want to drive up for practice, but not required. Weekly stuff could probably still be arranged down here for the people who can only do every other weekend.

Picking a main before you've even played them (i.e purely off of suggestion) seems kinda silly. Suggesting a character to be tried that might eventually be a main seems like something that is a lot more reasonable. So I'm coming back to this game after not having played since CT and early early CS1. I played Tager. Reasoning; - I am a lazy fuck. - I struggled with execution. Tager let me get past this barrier and I had all of my tools very early against better players. Never was I put in a position where I didn't have my proper answer readily available. Games focused less on execution/not dropping combos and more on making the correct call. - I had control and options for a lot of situations. Rushdown could be turned on it's head in an instant. - I am patient and Tager rewarded this. I am one of the three people playing anime games in NA that can block for longer than five seconds instead of getting CH out of a 2A. - I did not really mind working hard. I am used to CT Tager. I still have PTSD flashbacks whenever I see Nu. - Mixup/vortex. Setting people down in front of me and having a good answer for anything they can do (that either isn't horrible damage, or leads back into a guess) is important to me. However I'm not really a huge fan of him in CP (besides the air buster. No more reading jumps with just AC, psychic air buster is great) and I am trying to cultivate myself as a fighting game player - Tager is a pretty heavy crutch for a lot of things, so I would like to get away from him. This means no Azrael, as that guy is even lazier than Tager is. Dude can just press buttons and get away with it. Gross. Seems a lot of the old Tager mains jumped ship for him anyway. You people are frauds of the highest caliber. Any recommendations for who to try out? Kagura looked interesting but he seems super bad after the patch. Is he worth a time investment?

Where did Makoto's damage go in this game? Is Kagura going to be worth playing after the patch?

Hi Noel guys; I haven't touched this series since the start of CS (before Makoto came out) and I've been looking for a character to play, and a friend pointed me to Noel. I only had two criteria - and that was they had to have relatively high damage and the ability to be played really patiently (I'm coming from Tager, I really don't like how dishonest the character is). She looks pretty cool in the match videos I see, I'm wondering if Noel does fit what I'm looking for, and if so is there a beginner's guide to her anywhere around here?

This is surprising. I thought Valk was in the top tier? Can somebody give me a brief summary of this character, please? She came out well after I stopped playing Blaz, I'm interested but I don't know what her playstyle is at all. Kokonoe is cool...but what happened to Jubei? They should have made him playable a long time ago
