Not that this post is intended to be a lot of help, but I guess I could get things on the topic. Now I'm talking about good Rachels, not the crappy poser ones who don't use their wind properly. Whenever Taokaka tries to get in on Rachel, she will purposely user her wind to keep you away, shooting a staff and eventually electrocuting you one way or another from a distance and using that to segway into a combo. My main issue is her wind; because whenever I fight a good Rachel I can never get in. They will constantly keep me out of range with the wind and unfortunately Taokaka's drive just doesn't seem to do the trick. The worst part, is you'll eventually get close through pure will power, and Rachel has her special up, which never ends well. On top of that, Rachel seems to have a toolkit of ways to interrupt tao from close and get you where she wants you.

It's not that you're charging the 236cc too much, because I sorta doubt you're having that issue. The problem is probably that you're not canceling your taunt soon enough.

Taco-man's 6c and j.c are such a pain to get around.

She has that little spinny kick that counts as a high hit and negates all low hits and it has awesome priority and hits you into a very high damaging juggle. How do I fight that move?

A few questions like these would help beginners: 1) How do I pressure with Tao?! 2) In what ways can Tao escape a corner / pressure loop? I keep getting stuck!

So I've been fighting a lot of Noels lately and pretty much winning. The secret here is keeping her WHERE you want her. With that said, I will requote the previous comments: 6cing her whenever you're from afar. Take in mind MOST noels will try to get at you by jumping, and hate me for saying this, but Noel's zoning really does suck. You have plenty of time to keep her at a distance and get 4+ damage combos, usually gauranteeing you the game. You're up close, if she has you in a drive chain, perfect guard and GET OUT OF THERE. Unless you're God and you know exactly what to do, it's a good idea to escape. (Credit to Hi-C; this was a life saver.) Let's say you're up close and you beat her to the dominant position. 2b will go under her spinning jumping drive (Not the j.d) and give you the advantage while she's still recovering, if that's not a free combo I dunno what is. Just remember to try and lay off the C mashing with noel whenever you're up close. Usually not a good idea.

If the haku-men can be more aggressive than me, then usually he wins. Take in mind one swipe of your sword = avg. combo from me. Being passive is great if you can mix it up, but once again, letting taokaka have dominance is almost suicide in most situations.

Well, V-13 has a slight learning curve which is very apparent to me. A V-13 who has his combos even somewhat down seems to tear me a part no matter what range, it's really just a battle of who gets initiative and v-13 is really good at getting the first hit. Edit: Of course, the scrubby ones with cookie-cutter ground combos aren't really the ones I'm worrying about.

You don't want to stay close to him for very long unless you REALLY know what he's going to do. In my victories against good Rawrgna players I would typically take the air, and punish him from there. Usually going to the middle ground will mean a straight victory for him, because like you said, his priorities pretty much destroy taokaka. So, j.c, 3c-->(combo).

A beginner Jin will typically use his ice ride attack more than he needs to, which you can easily duck under and 3C after for a free combo. I personally think Taokaka has several advantages against him. Just don't spam straight drive attacks for the obvious reason of getting nailed by one of his swords. Just play High-Low against Jin. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Edit: Does anyone have some tips against v-13?

That's good help right there, no need to apologize Yeah, most of my losses have been pretty much from noels @_@. Even if I predicted what they would do, their drives would always manage to screw things up hehe. On some of the other character boards there are topics similar to this. On top of that it helps other players with similar issues such as mine to find and address them.

Since Noel seems to be so popular online nowadays, I need a few tips on debunking her drive specifically since getting close to her is often tedious. Any tips and combos are welcomed.
