    hi guys, anyone have some neat tensionless dash-jump enkasu combo off the mid-screen? i was going thru RB's combo yesterday nite and he only mentioned stuff with kjfrc for mid-screen enkasu. i am primarily looking for testi slayer br and ba. ---- some corner enkasu setup also work at mid-screen: ky: ksksde ve:psksde dy:ksksde pot/fau: pksde thats about all i remembered back from slash. thanks guys!!
  3. hi 4, thanks for the strings. these are exactly what i am looking for; other ways to land CH 5hs. I understand its not in the best interest to use it to catch ppl jumping out. However, I was just curious what some of you guys do to land the hit as 5h CH allows one to do flashy looking mc combos ;3
  4. what are some strings/frame traps u guys use to land CH 5Hs? i am trying to learn how to use 5h to catch ppl as they try to jump out of pressure. 2p,2k,2s,(whiff),hs works well for me but i'd like some variations if possible. thanks,

    sounds good.. especially the posting about teching to the opposite side... i really need to start doing that more j.s should be used discretely tho as it has slow startup and should u get CH by a random HS its a huge chunk of ur health gone. 6p works well against her iads approach. what are some instance when the may player use 6p? more of a frame-trap within a block string? random: if by any chance u are close to may (like.. c.S close) 2p5k5s2d can be gattled into coin and with it u can start a combo or.. mabe u can cancel the hs after coin into jackhound for a mist lvl3 setup?

    so i was playing the local chipp and he does something like dash in c.s x n on oki... i know it seems silly but i cant seem to do anything except fd/block/daa as he recovers fast enough to 2d me if i try something. can anything be done to somehow reversal him?
  7. just want to add that pre-empted 3hs is pretty good if u find the local testaments spamming too much 2h as their get away card. something like 3h mc 1st hit into f.s 6h jackhound xx returnjack does at least 200 pt of dmg on testement. just make sure u stay at least 1.5 char length away from him when u decide to commit to the move as the startup is horrible..high risk but rewarding. also crimson has mentioned earlier in his JO normal list that 2D works fairly well against 2h. obviously, like a lot of jo's move u cant spam it and expect it to work out each time. u really have to get a feel of when the testament would try to 2h out of corner against ur pressure. and with a 2 hit 2d u can try iad over him on wakeup for a simple cross-up. also its a good idea to practise SBing against testament's 2d as he has horrible recovery on it. i havent tried SBing the exe-beast during his pressure string yet...is it worth practising?

  9. hey 4r5 and other JOs, i mean ones that has been made since the beginning the year. I stopped watching CM and matchvids around then and i want to pick it up again now that summer is here. some of the new ones i saw on youtube that have setups i wanna try are full regret and ground killer. If u guys have a wmv or some other format with better quality please sent it my way. thanks guys,

  12. i use ppkde against testement as p feels more responsive and easier to time. dunno why when i was learning the 1hit i had more trouble with the light chars than med or heavy lo.
  13. how does one beat bridget's 5s... its so godly against my mc pressure.. i cant even get close to it to do any mix-ups. i am thinking dash/walk tk ensenga or a preempted 6p.. or should i be spamming more coin to discourage the br from spamming the 5s altogether? what are some good/safe mc string jo could do in mid-range? or am i basically screwed and have to try to randomly 6p that hoping it'll CH into a meaty combo finish? secondly, what do u guys do to set up cross-ups against not only br but the lighter cast? i like doing the 2p,5k,5s 2d one into iad cross-up but its fairly hard for me to get in and land the 2p or 5k to score that knockdown. ;d

    beside the throw into knockdown combo and the stuff involving 2d is there any other combo off lvl 2 finer that will cause knockdown, allowing me to set up a cross-up? i been working on my cross-ups but i cant seem to score a knockdown off the lvl2 combo: after lvl2 ksk kjfrc jhs db... ;( mabe we should have a combo section that deals with cross-ups.. i think thats a vital addition to his basic mix-ups.

    ssmugen: thats not bad for a mid-screen combo, have u tried doing 6h kjfrc after the mf? mabe that will yield more dmg. ;D for a corner combo i think the standard ground slide 6h kjfrc hs d, land relaunch combo will do more and more "resource-efficient"?
  16. yup definitely. one more thing to add, when doing coin cancel pressure strings be wary of Slayer's offensive option. If u are pushed back after ur block string dont try to coin then dash in to continue as mappa, BBU, and DoT can go right thru and hit johnny before the coin hits for the CH ;d probably best to attempt dash throw or reposition urself once more for a new set of pressure strings against him.

  18. run away JO seems to do better for me against slayer. i like to add in 2k/ 2s just to stuff his dash attempts. coin seems to work wonder against dandy if used sparingly. forward dash upper finer net me a lot of CH against j.Hs spammer always watch his bar for that random bbu or super... its not so bad once u pace urself and keep a constant watch as 4r5 had stated. slayers 5p seems to be fairly good... sometimes my jump-in attempt get stuff by that..mabe mixing up the approach with iad kf frc delayed hs to mess around with his timing? against teleport x2 throw oki its not a good idea to try to beat it with any normal other than 2p... in these case its probably the safest to one-frame jump or try to anticipate the throw by holding down one direction and throw-break it.

    more random thoughts, 6p/5k at mid-range against her dolphins rush 2h during corner if u think may is gonna try dolphine xx ohk for dmg. ib her jhs during her iad pressure and u can airthrow her if u are quick enough/high enough in air guess this is more of a general knowledge but may will do 5k as oki...and it cant be grabbed! also her JH need to be blocked HIGH.... i dunno how many time i got hit blocking low thinking its the same as JO. best to jump back and foward to bait for dolphin and punish with js xx ensenga knockdown to start pressure? i saw DC doing sj pppppp a lot against may in air... mabe its actually worth trying offensively? or not as it increases the risk of eating that CH j.hs of doom...

    random thoughts about this matchup, when venom has a ball infront of him its generally not a good idea to iad or attempt a jump-in. probably better to block low on his strings as hes only overheads are dust and tk mad struggle? jackhound him during his ball summon at any point to get knockdown/dmg. in the beginning of match probably good to sj and land close to him to start pressure?
  21. not sure if i've asked this question before but will the JO guide cover some aspects of tech trap for JO? heres one i've been using recently after 2 reps of JH loop i will eithe 5s(close), or 2p the guy and try sj air-throw into mist setups.

    Chipp teleport to get in on JO which put JO on disadvantage as his normals outpokes and out prioritize ur moves. would u guys say this matchup as 6-4? i find i spent a lot of time just sitting there blocking thru strings and eating occasional dust/command throws. Is there anything JO can do to beat the J.hs beside pre-empted upper finer as it is the main method of entry from the local chipp player. beside doing 1-frame jump during pressure strings at anytime during a corner block string if i spot a teleport i try dashing through it...it has worked fairly well for me. if it happens to be the teleport that put chipp in the air in front or behind JO then JO basically dashed right out of pressure. start round move...wait ? besides 5k/2p i cant think of any other normal that can beat what chipp throw out in the beginning of the round
