  1. ah well thats good to hear...i tried putting D on the ring finger and it doesn't feel right. Im sure I just need some more practice
  2. This is more of a preference question. For those who are main Nu and use an arcade stick how do you set up the buttons? I had mine set up as D A B C so my thumb was on D but its hard to do all the drive combos. Just kinda curious as to what Nu players find to be the most rewarding set up. Thanks Bash
  3. Further training tonight spent on his ground-to-air combos and mix-up. having trough with his one though [5A/2A/j.C/j.4C],5B,2B,2C,6D, 6239B. In this combo it seems unless i start with 2c, that the 6d always wiffs. Also with the 6239B, should the animation that comes out of this be a ground DP or air? (from the OP it looks like its suppose to cancel into ground version but just wanting to check since I'm trying to take my combo training time seriously). Edit: Just re-read the OP and it clearly states it cancels into the ground DP. Misread that. My sincere apologies, i thought i was in the execution thread when i posted this. also just realized going back to the console that i was inputing 2D which always wiffs, 6D works fine. Please disregard this post. My apologies
  4. thanks, thats what i was thinking, the JC after the jump cancel always connects, which makes it much more of a reliable choice. much appreciated Bash
  5. I'm relatively new to the manliness of Bang and have been working on some BNB's in practice. The dummy was Jin and i was working on some air combos. I can get JA>JB>jc>JC or JA>JB>623B/C to go off consistently. What I'm having trouble with is JA>JB>jc>JB>(JC or 623B/3) to work consistently. I read in the original post that the air combos are rather character specific. I am only asking because i want to know if its a problem with Jin's height when i start the combo or if its just my execution. Thanks Bash Edit: The point in the combo that it drops is the JB after the jump cancel.
  6. Thank you for the advice, I do use the eagle claw all the time when I play. Now I am able to IAD on 956 mostly and will a little bit of more practice I will perfect it. PS: when I read eagle claw I laughed because it reminded me of this thread http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194945&highlight=tiger+claw and http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194952&highlight=tiger+claw

  7. Hey i saw your post in the questions thread on IADs. The easiest way i find to do them consistently is holding the stick eagle claw style (pointer/middle on one side, ring/pinky on other with thumb where needed on top). With this, I then use the 7-5-4 or 9-5-6 directional input. If you just let the stick center its self then hit toward the opponent it usually works. The biggest error i see with IAD'ing is when you get in the heat of battle or flustered and you hit the 7-5-4, or 9-5-6 but are moving so quickly that you miss the 5 in the middle. Hope that helps. Bash

  8. SHTKN MOD MESSAGE: this thread is for new players that have questions about how to play Jin that aren't simple one-liner question answers (that's what this thread is for). Post away! Hello, i mostly play jin, and when I'm getting pressured and try to mount a counter assault it seems whatever attack i throw out, almost ALWAYS gets stuffed in my face. I'm not gonna post and complaining that there moves "shouldn't" beat mine (I'm sure its a error on my end), I'm more looking for advice on what to get out of pressure strings with. Also I'm having a lot of difficult getting into a combo. It seems looking at a lot of the combos that most of them I'm using start off 1a,2b, or 5b. These attacks are awfully short ranged and I'm having a lot of trouble being able to get close enough for anything other than one of the C's of D attacks to hit (which are terribly slow, and on wiff or block get me pummeled). I'm just looking for a bit of advice on these issues. I'm still learning to get combos down consistently and such, but i can live with losing cause my execution isn't where it should be (i get ridiculously nervous when i play online). Any advice would by helpful. also, as these kinds of question probably pop up a lot around the forums, it would be beneficial for the beginner guides to talk a little about general tactics, combo setting up, and getting out of pressure strings. While these things are second nature to seasoned GG players and BB players, newbies like my self, have a lot of trouble with them. Looking around the character forums there is a lot of talk for looking to set a combo up, or to counter after block, but not a lot of advice on exactly what are some of the better options in more common situations. Thanks for any help you all can provide. its much appreciated. Many thanks Bash
