  1. If you doing the AC, they must tech before you actually grab them. If they don't tech before the grab, then it'll keep going as an invalid combo and they can tech roll out of the (got to remember to walk forward a step too) 6C > 5D part. These are gimmicks for a reason, almost every reset that Tager has is totally reliant on when and how they tech.
  2. You win a thousand internets for that pic
  3. Its all in the Hold and release. Takes a bit of timing to do it and some of your opponents movements can throw it off, hence why its a gimmick. But 2 things can happen out of the AC reset based on how and when you let go of AC: Option A) you can hold it and release to actually catch with the collider and continue into a 6c>5D which, if they air tech, can actually cause them to loop back into the collider allowing you to do another 6C>5D. This can keep going as long as the air tech and if you can hold and release AC for the correct amount of time. Another option to the AC of the Air tech is actually causing them to plop right in front of you into 360 or 720 throw range. Option B) You release AC as close to the hand as possible without actually catching them (takes practice). If you did it right they should start falling to the ground in front of you as AC is in recovery, start buffering 720 as soon as AC stops. If you did it right, then the 720 will super flash(obviously) and the time when your opponent hits the ground is the same as your invincibility frame, which means they can do nothing about it. HOWEVER, they can hit you as they are coming down after you release AC. Learning to control AC is one of the key things to Tager. It blows nuts as an anti air but its still one of his most feared moves cause it can wreck people if you know how to control it. @Jorrel A human Tager that knows what he is doing is scary. All it takes is 1 or 2 mistakes from your opponent and the match is yours. The lower health characters only really get 1 mistake and they are done, especially if you get off any of those reset combos into a 720. Flat out kills Ragna, no questions asked.
  4. How the wall bounce happens is dependent on the distance from Tager, your opponent, and the wall, If your just throwing Spark bolt by itself without any kind of lead in. (like Throw >AC> Spark). If everything is scrunched together, then expect your opponent to fly past you. If you and your opponent are full screen away or if the wall is a full screen away but your opponent is point blank, expect them to fall short. Anything in between is optimal. Best follow up is the 5C > 6A > AC which allows a combo reset if you hold it. If you release correctly, then they drop right in front of you and buffer a 720 into the recovering Collider. Its burstable however, but if they have already bursted or they don't think they need to, its usually a game winner against the lower health characters and cripples the average health characters. 5D doesn't cause a wall bounce as Spark Bolt, just sends them flying to the other side of the screen.
  5. Using the analog stick on the 360 controller just takes a bit of finesse to keep that from happening. Once you realize where the points are and where to stop, its really smooth. But it is one of those things where you have to get used to though. I picked it up after playing Ivy for so long in SCIV, especially for some of the Summon Suffering/Calamity Symphony stun combos. Not to mention she did have her fair share of quarter circle motions.
  6. Total speculation since not a whole lot is confirmed for Aria aside that she does become Justice. But is it still in the realm of possibility that Sol could be Dizzy's father, for all we know before Aria became Justice, Sol and Aria undoubtedly did a few things behind closed doors. And if that part is true, then that would make Sol the grandfather of Sin.
  7. there goals are opposing, but they are both looking for That Man. So it kind of makes sense.
  8. If the guy is making predictable jump ins from a long distance, it can serve as a decent anti air. Blocks projectiles too, I've seen it completely stuff Jin's Ice Wave Super too.
  9. I'd hope Ky and Sol settled there differences, Ky entrusted his own son to Sol. As far as other characters go, safe to assume Eddie and Millia are dead by Overture, with Millia suffering a similar fate as Eddie. Venom is a bit of a wild card imo.
  10. Thanks for clearing that up Now how to deal with players that seem to never leave the 7 8 and 9 positions on the pad/stick. The Psychic Collider is ok in some instances but some moves are impossible without reading them 20 years out. Not to mention any kind of jumping crossup seems to be the bane of Tager's existence (and zoners). Plus Tagers own jump is already a slight bit slower, so jumping with them isn't an option either. what would you suggest?
  11. How dare you have the Gespenst Kick in your location w/o having at least one video in your profile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcoMQ2ubyKs

  12. Relationship between Raven and Axl?
  13. I don't know but I had something extremely odd happen today. I was facing Noel and I had her in the corner. Did a 2D tech trap and when she neutral teched again in the corner there was an open palm of Genesic waiting for her. Normally Genesic wins since a Neutral tech in the corner + an Active Genesic = a dead opponent usually. But for some stupid reason, when she teched, she ended up whipping out her ground super and completely stuffs Genesic as if it was never active.
  14. 1)If your doing it quick enough 2B>2C>AC should snatch unless your holding AC rather than just a quick tap. 2)Some of it is character specific others is random
  15. I've done this before, its hilarious to watch actually. Should be able to do the same on a Super flash 720 buffer also, assuming Litchi close enough?
  16. Giving projectile armor to shot would be a godsend against Nu and if Sledge had the complete properties of Slidehead w/projectile armor, then we'd have a winner
  17. If whiffs she doesn't get a second sword. But the sword that comes from behind isn't a followup though. So the big question that I don't have an answer for right now is: If Tager backdashes Nu's 5D sword would the recovery time of that sword and the startup time for the sword that comes from behind be enough to throw off any combo that could potentially start up from Spark Bolt since hitting Nu does not effect the swords. @Skye You may not be intentionally trolling, but your doing a damn good job of it. You pretty much came in here and started telling us to play a different character just cause its one of Tagers worst matchups. I swear its like this with any Smash Bros players, counterpicking is really prominent in that (party) game. Rather than actually coming up with methods to stop X character with Y Character, you Smash Bros guys would rather just counterpick with Z cause Y sucks against X. Like I said before, that screams inbalance to the highest of levels.
  18. to overcome highly improbable odds? Wouldn't it make better sense to decide on the former? Mods can go after me on this one but I don't care. The second you said Smash Bros, you lost almost any credibility you may have had. I'm not attacking the rights to play it competitively, I'm attacking it being compared to other fighters when it is a party game. Even if it was a fighter, your still comparing an unbalanced cluster**** to something that is trying to be balanced. There shouldn't be an endless cycle of counterpicking because X is weak to Y but Y is weak to Z. That just screams inbalance. Now I am not saying that Y shouldn't have disadvantages to X but X shouldn't be able to steamroll over Y either. Not to mention, some of us don't use a secondary that isn't exactly better suited against this matchup anyway. Your logic is saying "Have a higher tier character as backup cause it'll help against that impossible match Tager has". Normally this would be pretty good advice but at a tournament level, you'll likely bump into these matchups more often and at that point your backup might as well be your main. Ultimately my point still stands. You should use your backup if you feel like it should give you a slight edge, not because your main character is 100% crippled against whatever your up against. Anyone else find it extremely odd that Skye is trying to teach us about Tager vs Nu yet he/she uses neither? @Osuna: Backdashing doesn't really help by itself. Might catch them offguard though and the recovery MAY be enough to counter with spark bolt, haven't looked into it though, but possible. I'd be concerned with the sword that comes from behind too.
  19. Nothings wrong with having a backup, but you shouldn't be forced into a position to use it just cause the matchup is damn near impossible against anyone that is good
  20. Uhhh I hate that kind of mentality, but sadly its something that can legitimately applied to this situation which sucks and points out some obvious inbalances at the same time. If this matchup was just slightly balanced in anyway, that option should never exist for a Tager main. Same applies to any horribly lopsided matchups in any other game.
  21. I can't tell if this is sarcasm or you simply don't have a clue. Already stated that the projectile start up times are the same and why Spark bolt can't be done on reaction to counter D. Also a decent Nu is going to be watching for Spark Bolt anyway and knows the startup fact as well. Super armor is just asking for punishment from that Sickle Wheel (or w/e its called) of Nu's. So a quick charge for Spark bolt is out of the question. Another thing that needs to be tested is Nu's minimum blade range against Tager vs Everyone else. I'm going to test this tomorrow to see what the extent of it is (if any) but I swear earlier today I got hit with a D from Nu when I THOUGHT i was in that space where blades don't work anymore, and thus got comboed. The thing I'm worried about though, is if the range thing proves to be true, then does that blade count as a crossup since it technically starts behind Tager at that point.
  22. Almost wish I had a PS3 just to have a chance to play you and get a bit of critique for my Tager cause of videos like that. But at the same time, I like the learning what works and what doesn't on my own.
  23. Doesn't moving forward also count as +'s to move you further from the Negative penalty whilst moving/dashing backwards puts you closer? If gaining tension for moving forward was reimplemented then change the negative penalties back to 100% tension loss
  24. got a combo to add. Though the spacing and timing for it to start is strange I'll admit 6C -> J.2C -> 2B -> Collider -> Spark Bolt -> 5C -> 6A ->Collider (hold a lil or release or let them drop into a Genesic or 360B) kind surprised at this considering the J.2C has to be on counter hit to link into 2B if done by itself. This way it can combo together, just make sure you jump into J.2C immediately. I know 2B can go into 2C but its lets risky this way not to mention it allows 6A to be performed without risk of being teched after the spark bolt > 5C part, which means a combo reset after 6A on Atomic Collider. Granted the person has to be close to Tager for this to work, max distance I found (with Jin) is about a half a step to a step closer than their starting positions at the beginning of a match. Seems to work best on a croching barrier blocker gotta check to see if it works on Carl, Rachel, and Taokaka since there hit boxers are so weird. Most likely candidates to cause AC to whiff and you probably have to be closer for those 3 for it to execute, which against Rachel and Tao is suicide.
  25. That video has been posted a million times already. It doesn't need anymore postings
