  1. I'm talking midscreen. In the corner, why would you do this instead of just 5B[m] 2C[m] 6D(2)?
  2. I'd like to know this as well.
  3. I can only do it while they're in the air, although I haven't exactly put a lot of effort into it as I don't see why you wouldn't just go the tsubame route if they're right in front of you.
  4. Yeah okay let's do that.
  5. I don't even see how that's a combo. CH?
  6. I do that on Tager quite a bit actually. I think it's the only way I've ever gotten a FC 6A[m].
  7. ...That's a good question. What time were you guys thinking? I'm going out for dinner Sunday and Nuit Blanche is the day before so I would prefer evening. I usually stay up late so there would be no rush to get out.
  8. I'm at Eglinton and Bathurst. It's a five minute walk from Eglinton West.
  9. It's all good, you should hear how vigorously I yell at the TV when I play online. Win or lose, I'm swearing like a motherfucker about something.
  10. 5B 6B 5C 2C 236A 236C 66 5B j.BCB dj.BCB 6C(1) 4kote j.BCB dj.BCB 236B 236C This is good midscreen. You should change the ending if you're in the corner and close enough to hit them with the staff (j.B dj.BCD falling j.C 6C(2)) for oki and stuff. This works with every opener as far as I know. 6A replaces 5B in this combo, and if you start on 2B you remove 6B and flip 2C and 5C. If the staff is set in the corner, then you do 5B 6B 5C 2C 236A 236B Riichi A Ippatsu A and an ender; what ender you do depends on what you start with. 6A, 2B, j.B and j.C can't do falling j.2B but can do Riichi A Ippatsu A Ippatsu B Haku Chuun etc. 5B, 6B, 5C and two of the rekkas (not Chuun) are big damage. I don't really land haku in the corner a lot and I don't have the game on me so I don't know what you would do specifically with no staff involvement, but it would probably the BnB that I listed above from the haku. If you have the staff set in the corner, however, you can do a full combo off of the staff for like 5k. The only variation in staffless combos exists if you can hit them onto the staff, because it adds a ton to your damage. You should always modify your combo to hatsu onto the staff, if available. You could do this midscreen if the staff was a screen length away from you: 5B 6B 5C 236A 236B Riichi A Ippatsu A Ippatsu B 66 236B 236A 236C 66 5B j.BCB dj.BCB 6C(1) 4kote j.B dj.BCD falling j.C 6C(2).
  11. Is there any practical use to the extra distance you get from doing 6A[m] repeatedly? I doubt it, but it would be interesting to know.
  12. I remember NeoRussel and whomever the guy calling out brackets for SSFIV/MvC3 announcing that they had found a stick with a grey Xbox cable. That was towards the end of the night but when I left (just after SSFIV ended) they still had it, as far as I know. Perhaps you should contact him. How about Sunday? I'm usually busy Friday and Saturday.
  13. Okay so let's make some concrete plans then. If you guys have setups to bring, I'll be glad to host (although I'm obviously not opposed to the idea of someone else doing it). What day(s) works well for you guys?
  14. My monitors aren't HDCP so unless someone has component-VGA or something like that, they won't do. I live about a five minute walk from Eglinton West.
  15. I would also be interested in weekly casuals. I definitely wouldn't be able to make it every week but I'm downtown now so I would be able to make most. I would even be up to host them, although I only have the one setup, so it probably wouldn't be desirable.
  16. Shoutouts to: Kirbster for winning and teaching me a ton about Rachel. http://www.dustloop.com/guides/bbcs2/frameData/rachel/6A.html ololol Level5 for losing to me one game and then comboing into astral the next. Yes, I mad. Pochp for playing me in a tournament match without picking random this time. I didn't even know you played Mu. Leo, thanks for being so administrative as usual. I'm a little sad I didn't get to play you once considering I put quite a bit of time into the Valk matchup because of Mat8. MTL, for starting every other sentence with "We have this amazing Litchi player in Montreal, and he...". Everyone I played casuals with, thanks for the matches, I had a lot of fun. You guys are an amazing bunch of (mostly Tager) players.
  17. GGs everyone. Shoutouts to my bed.
  18. Well I'm happy.
  19. Not sure anyone but me still cares about this, but I've concluded that sliding off the staff instead of getting Riichi A is based entirely on the position of the staff. I got it to drop once and then I tried every opener I could and it dropped every time just before j.2B.
  20. Yeah, the number of times it's happened to me is probably in the single digits. I just don't understand it and I don't want it to make itself evident at a bad time.
  21. Okay sooo. I placed the staff at the distance that a corner slide 6D would put the staff and I tried both dash 5C and FC 5C hatsu and I got both to work perfectly fine about ten times in a row. They also both work with the staff placed all the way in the corner. I also placed the staff about as far as it will let me Ippatsu A from. I tried starting inside the corner and comboing from near corner. The thing is, the jump arc when you do hatsu riichi A off of corner 5C, fc or not, is very bizarre (it's visibly not straight up) so it actually LOOKS like it's going to drop it but it doesn't. If I've misinterpreted your posts, let me know. The 4D pushed into the corner with hatsu > Riichi A also works perfectly fine for me, both CH and no. For this, I'm just straight confirming into the 2B (4D hatsu riichi A ippatsu A ippatsu B Hatsu riichi A j.2B etc.). Could this possibly just be an issue of timing? Also, wouldn't a 2C after the 5C correct the blowback problem?
  22. I have yet another question for this thread. I've had this problem where sometimes, when I go for Riichi A j.2B, what will happen is that Litchi will slide in the air against the opponent and not jump on the staff (on Riichi A) and will instead land next to the opponent, similarly to what would happen if you were too far away from the staff to land on it. This happens like once in a thousand times and I can't replicate it easily. It happened most recently when I was coming to the corner with the staff already placed off of 5B. Obviously you could counteract this by just not going for j.2B but I'm wondering what the circumstances are that cause it (it seems to only happen with a preset staff although I think I've gotten it to happen opening on (AA?) 2C[m] as well) and if there's a way around it that allows you to still do j.2B.
  23. I don't have access to the game at the moment (I'm not home); don't you have to do cross under 5B to do it off of crossup 2D[m] because 5B 6B faces you the wrong way? Honestly I've just been doing 2D[m] into the staffless BnB on the characters that I can't do cross under 2C on so perhaps I just need to practice it.
  24. I had a lot of trouble with this too. You need to input the dash very quickly -- the dash isn't like you would dash outside of a combo as it's only barely necessary and for a very short distance -- and you need to input it almost immediately after landing. Instead of practicing the whole combo, just practice 236C 66 5B. Once you can do it reliably you can incorporate it into the combo. You just have to feel it out. What about 133333? EDIT: For 6C(1) combos (specifically off of crossup j.2D[m]) What are the specifics of getting 2C to connect on so-called "hard" characters? Because I can do it fairly reliably for these "easy" characters and I haven't successfully done it once on Jin.
  25. I'm not totally sure where to post about this but I don't really think it warrants its own thread: Why is the hitbox data for every character up on DL except for Litchi's?
