  1. The Accent Core arcade stuff arrived today. It will still be a little while before it is in the Japanese cab but I'll gladly pop it in the CvS2 cab if anyone asks. The Astro that has now been under repair for 4 months is still not fixed. I did receive yet another update with the supposedly final problem. Unfortunately it is not an easy problem so it could take some time.
  2. GG will definitely work as a head-to-head. Any game I have except Martial Masters will work on the head-to-head setup. It's really just splitting the signal between two cabs so it's not all that difficult once you buy the proper wire harness. Also, I never buy anything I don't have cash for. That's why there hasn't been much new stuff lately Hopefully tomorrow I will get some good stuff at the auction
  3. I was just researching what it would take to get the Naomi setup into one of my candy cabs and it seems tricky but I will prevail. It's one of those things you do once and NEVER take it out unless the cab explodes. It will happen though. It was an amazing deal that I was able to fund from selling my Hokuto No Ken cart. Very good trade in my opinion. I'll post up as soon as the disc arrives and keep you guys updated on the progress of the candy cab. Eventually I'd like to get the PS2 controller ports installed on all my tournament fighting cabs so pad players will be able to enjoy the arcade version as well. Now I guess I should shoot for the stars and go for a BB Viewlix cab huh?
  4. Arcade Legacy CHRISTMAS COMBAT 2 Cincy, OH 12/18/10 *3S, UMK3, MvC2, XvsSF, CvS2, PJ As a thanks to all those who have supported the arcade, I bring you CHRISTMAS COMBAT 2. FREE tournaments, FREE cookies/candy/cake, Prizes, Raffle for a NICE stick and more! You do not want to miss this. This event is FREE to all SRK and DUSTLOOP members and those who regularly attend fight night and tournaments. If you bring a guest, I will let them in for half price ($5). All I ask is that you bring some sort of treat for all to enjoy. Cookies/Candy/Cake/Pastries, whatever. Ask Grandma to make you a batch of her famous holiday cookies. I did last year and ended up with over 100 AMAZING cookies to share. Last years spread was intense and this years will be even better. We will also have another raffle for a fight stick. Same type of deal as last year where the more tickets bought, the better the stick given away. the top tier stick for this raffle is NICE! A dual modded Hori HRAP EX-SE! Will raffle connoisseur Lee Hunter walk away with yet another stick? Thanks to all of you who bought tickets last year, I was able to purchase the Street Fighter III: Third Strike board that you all play non-stop. Almost $300 worth of tickets sold! The same will happen with this years money. Hopefully I can raise enough to get another Showcase, candy cab or other nice fighting cab for you all to enjoy. Anyone who buys tickets will be able to cast their vote for where the money goes. Tickets will be $5 and you can buy as many as you'd like to raise your chances at the stick (or sticks). The more tickets sold, the better the prize becomes: 1-30 tickets sold = Sanwa modded SE for PS3 31-50 tickets sold = Hori HRAP EX for Xbox 360 51-80 tickets sold = Dual modded Hori HRAP EX-SE If we get over 80 tickets sold I will raffle off BOTH Hori sticks! Now to the games. In trying to keep it fresh and interesting, all the main event games will be games we rarely play at tournaments. They will also ALL be on ARCADE machines! There will also be random select teams tournaments for the main four games right now. MAIN EVENTS - Prize for the winner of each game! *Marvel vs Capcom 2 (on the BIG BLUE cab!) - starts at 12pm *Capcom vs SNK 2 - starts at 1pm *Street Fighter III: Third Strike - starts at 2pm *Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 - starts at 3pm *Project Justice - Starts after MvC2 (roughly 5pm) *X-Men vs Street Fighter - starts after 3S (roughly 6pm) If my Astro is working by then, and it should be, we will be using that for tournaments as well. I may be adding a MARTIAL MASTERS tournament if I have the motherboard by then. TEAMS TOURNAMENTS - Random partner selection. All of these will be 3v3 if 15 or more join. 2v2 is less than 15 join *BlazBlue: CS - starts at 12:30pm *Super Street Fighter IV - starts at 1:30pm *Tekken 6 starts at 4:30pm *Guilty Gear XXAC starts at 6:30pm Details: Arcade Legacy 322 W. 6. Arcade Legacy OLD SCHOOL ONSLAUGHT 3 Cincy, OH* Nov 27th - SSFIV, GGAC, 3S, Goldeneye OLD SCHOOL ONSLAUGHT is back for the THIRD time at ARCADE LEGACY in Cincinnati, OH! Besides the classic OSO tournament, we will be having a couple other old school tournament games like GOLDENYEYE (N64), DR. MARIO (NES) and BOMBERMAN (SNES). There's almost always a few old school impromptu side games that happen. In addition, we will be having a couple teams tournaments in the evening. Super Street Fighter IV 3v3. Guilty Gear XXAC 2v2. Street Fighter III: Third Strike 2v2. If you are unfamiliar with how OSO is run, read on. Instead of essentially one big mystery game fighting tournament, each individual match is a different games as opposed to each round in a standard mystery tournament. That means you will see upwards of 30 different classic, horrible, hilarious and sometimes almost unplayable old school fighting games. Some truly hilarious moments have come out of the two previous tournaments. And of course there is KART FIGHTER! I promise it will not be the final round this time. I will have something just as menacing though. This is ANYONE'S game. No one really has the upper hand here because no one really plays these games anymore or ever did in most cases. That's the beauty of OLD SCHOOL ONSLAUGHT. It's anyone's game. Now is the chance for the underdog to shine. RESULTS THREAD - forthcoming TOURNAMENT DETAILS DATE: November 27th, 2010 TIME: - OSO 3 starts at 1pm. 70/20/10 pot split. If more than 30 entrants, top 5 will get paid GOLDENEYE and DR MARIO start at 4pm. BOMBERMAN starts at 5pm. Prizes to the winners. SSFIV 3v3 is at 7pm. 60/40 split. Played on PS3. If there's less than 15 people entering, we will do a 2v2 instead. RULES: Double Elim. Pokemon style. You must keep the same character throughout the tournament but you can switch ultras. You must decide and maintain your playing order the whole tournament. GG XXAC 2v2 is at 8pm. 60/40 split. PS2. Same rules as IV - ultra switching 3S 2v2 is at 8pm. 60/40 split. arcade. Same rules as SSFIV VENUE: Arcade Legacy 322 W. Crescentville Rd Cincinnati, OH 45246 513-874-8766 Arcade Legacy COST: $7 venue if you come for OSO. $10 if you come later for teams tourneys (includes FREE PLAY all day on our 40+ arcade machines) $5 to enter the OSO tournament (also includes GOLDENEYE and DR MARIO tourneys) $5/person for the SSFIV 3v3 $5/person for the GG XXAC 2v2 $5/person for the 3S 2v2 OSO RULES: One person for each match will randomly pick a card that has the game to be played written on it. Best 3 out 5 for each game including all finals. That'll give you a few matches to get good at the game quickly. No character is banned. If you know enough about any of these games to infinite someone, you deserve to win. Double Elimination. The pot will be split 70/20/10 (or 60/20/10/5/5 if we get more than 30 entrants) & there will be a rad prize for the winner! You can bring your own controller if you have one for these systems, but we will have pads available and some sticks. A few of the games will be on arcade machines. Keeping with OSO tradition, the FINAL MATCH will be on a game that very few, if any, of you guys have seen or played so the playing field will be fairly level. GAMES LIST - this is not all of them but a handful to give you an idea of what will be played Tech Romancer Bloody Roar Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Darkside Ranma 1/2 Battle Monsters Clayfighter 63 1/3 Brutal: Paws of Fury Golden Axe: The Duel Many more to come!!!
  7. Everybody SHOULD be there tomorrow... but will they come?
  8. Ask your brother. He mentioned it. Hopefully it wasn't supposed to be a surprise.
  9. I updated the OP with the new dates for the last two ranbats. Yeah for Kyle's bachelor party at AL! I heard something about a GGAC cab being brought. Is that true Kyle?
  10. Click here for results (updated after each ranbat) - http://shoryuken.com/f7/arcade-legacy-ranking-battles-season-3-ssfiv-t6-ggac-bb-cs-snk-league-more-241997/#post9214870
  11. Arcade Legacy RANKING BATTLES Season 3 - SSFIV, T6, GGAC, BB:CS, SNK league +more I’m proud to announce that season 3 of the AL ranbats will start on August 14th and run every three Saturdays after. Yet again a slightly different format for this season. I want to keep tweaking it to make it better for those who attend regularly. The new format will have ALL the ranbat games played on the same day. Instead of a set prize of money at the end of the season, you guys will end up making the prize money grow. How this will work is $2 from every admission will go into the pot of the ranbat game you came to play each week. If you play more than one game, you can split that money between two games (so $1 each game). You can still play in all of the games if you wish, but your prize money can only be distributed between two games. Obviously you will want that to go towards the game or games you feel you have the best chance of placing TOP 5 in. That’s right! TOP 5 will get paid at the end of the season! The pot will be split 50/25/15/5/5. That’s alot more money in your pockets. For example, if SSFIV averages 20 people a week (which is reasonable), the pot will be around $200! In this instance, first place will take home about $100 this season as opposed to the $35 from last. Even a game that only averages 10 a week will take home more than last season so I think this will benefit everyone and hopefully get more of you out each week to compete. There will also be end of the season prizes added on to the money winnings and I will continue to give out prizes each week to the top 3 for each game. WHERE: Arcade Legacy 322 W. Crescentville Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45246 513-874-8766 www.arcadelegacyohio.com Weekly Prizes for each game (except SNK league): 1st – Free ticket to AL (which can also be used as TWO Thursday admission) or $15 gift card to spend in the media store 2nd – $10 gift card to spend in the media store 3rd – TWO free beverages of your choice (can be redeemed at a later date) Season Prizes: see paragraph above SNK League will have prizes at the end of the season. They will be posted once they are decided on or obtained. Most likely SNK, KOF, and NEO GEO related swag Cost: $10 regular arcade admission – Ranbats are FREE to enter Games, Times and Dates: PS3 is the default system for the ranbats (except GGAC). If a 360 is brought to the event, I have no problem with it being used if both players agree to it. Super Street Fighter IV @2pm (PS3) Guilty Gear: Accent Core @2pm (PS2) Tekken 6 @6pm (PS3) BlazBlue: Continuum Shift @6pm (PS3) SNK league @4pm Week 1 Garou: Mark of the Wolves Week 2 Last Blade 2 Week 3 Samurai Showdown 4 Week 4 King of Fighters 98 Week 5 Neo Geo Battle Coliseum I have a bunch of nice PS3 sticks available for anyone to use so if you are a 360 player, don't let not having a stick stop you from coming. I will be needing some gear each ranbat. A post will be made the week of each ranbat requesting what is needed. HALF OFF admission to anyone who supplies a requested setup. No TVs will be needed. The Point System: There are 5 tournaments held for each game over the course of 4 months. First place in each tournament receives 9 points, second place 8 points, and so on until eighth place, which receives 2 points. Players who place lower than eighth receive one point. There will be posts in this thread which will show current point standings. At the end of the 4 month season the player with the highest number of points amassed from the 5 tournaments is the season champion for that game. RULES: SSFIV - Winner can switch Ultra GGAC - Gold, Shadow, and EX Characters are not allowed in tournament play T6 - 3/5 rounds, random stage BB:CS - TBA SNK League - TBA Dates: Subject to change if dates conflict with another event August 14th -- Side tournaments are - SSFIV 2v2 random partner selection (PS3) $2/person and TBA September 4th -- Side tournaments are - Mystery Game Tournament - a few non fighters may be included $3 entry September 25th -- Side tournaments are - STREET FIGHTER III: THIRD STRIKE (arcade) $2 and TBA October 23rd -- Side tournaments are - TBA November 13th -- Side tournaments are - Tatsunoko vs Capcom. $2 entry and TBA We will also run side tournaments with seperate entry fees. Arcade Legacy presents ROCKET PUNCH - Saturday July 10th, 2010 - Cincinnati, OH So not all of us can afford to or have the time to get out Las Vegas for EVO this year (especially those on the East coast). Instead of sitting at home watching the stream on your computer, I offer this tournament and EVO stream viewing event. This will be the FIRST tournament at the new Arcade Legacy! (formerly Arcade Legends). It's looking like we might get some new faces coming out from Florida, Iowa, Michigan and Illinois so there should be a bunch of uncharted competition.
