  1. Late shoutouts! Sorry, I had to work 10+ days straight I would like to thank everyone who entered the GGXX: AC side tournaments at EVO and congrats to the winners (RF, Elvenshadow, AKA, Hellmonkey, Marline Pie, etc.). Though, many things went wrong and I understand that some are angry (I will discuss more below) I was the female ED/KY/TE player/"twin". First, let me talk alittle about the tournament/players: I am very sorry to those of you who did not enjoy the GG tournament/were DQed or dropped out. I know that many things went wrong and things will be much better next time. I also hope that everyone had fun playing casuals and other games. However, to those of you who are complaining of being DQed/the tournament dragging on (PNW, some SoCal, etc.), although I understand that some of you did not like the way that the tournament was run, you could have offered to help even A Little, like Hellmonkey, Teyah, Sanoshi, HellFromAbove, etc., instead of doing nothing but complaining (especially afterwards). I know it was the responsability of Sol-Bumguy & myself to to run the tournament, but as everyone knows, it is hard work to be responsable for 80+ people, especially when a lot of them were constantly disappearing, often WITHOUT telling us, to play different games, etc. Everyone has as much of a right to play one game as much as the other; A LOT of players were constantly in the BB area to play tournament matches (mainly teams) and/or casuals, so if some of those players are so upset about being DQed in GG while they were playing BB, then why? We knew that some of them were in BB a lot of times, but alot of them didn't seem to check back for very long periods of time-- so even though calling matches/trying to find players was our responsability (which we did as much as we were able), babysitting is not. IMHO, at times, it was like some of those DQed players chose BB over GG (which is totally fine), so I barely see a reason to be too salty about what happened. If those players truly cared THAT MUCH about the GG tournament, they could have checked back on their own multiple times, like Teyah, JasonD, Steve H, Soniti, Mighty, Tshkn, Jo, etc. Also, some people claim they were only called once or twice, which was NOT TRUE, at all-- NO ONE was given special treatment for being a better or more famous player (RF was the only exception because no one has/had his number, and no one knows him personally, but he did check back as often as he could have); it just depended on who showed up and when. We were fair and called everyone equally, and many people were told about the various "byes" and delayed matches due to players not showing up, and were even showed the bracket, which could not have been fixed... Again, I am sorry that some had a bad experience, but they truly need to understand how it is to run a tournament that "big", while being somewhat responsable for THAT MANY people, running on only 4 set-ups+while another big tournament is going on. IMO, other than the issues that Spirit Juice pointed out (starting late, no Laptop, 2 set-ups until 3PM-4PM, not enough DQ's, etc) another big problem with the GG tournament was the fact that some of the players did not seem to respect the tournament all that much. Because it was a side tournament, many people did not seem to respect it/check on their matches or just chose BB over GG (which is fine, whether or not it is their main game), because BB was in the main line-up and it was a courtesy to have us check the entire venue for players+give them 10+ minutes to show up, or else get a loss/DQ-- just please do not complain about about being DQ'd, especially when you held up the tournament like many others (or be like Huey, who dropped out almost immediately, because he KNEW he would be too busy to play in it)... One cannot always have their cake and eat it too. Sorry if this sounded a bit harsh... Now, for some shoutouts: Sanoshi: thank you very much for helping us call players on Friday, and for letting us use your latop/!<33 You were a life saver (without it, we would have had to do 5, 16 man pools)! I hope you had a good ime at EVO- until next time ^_^. Hellmonkey: Thank you so much for helping us run teams, imo, with the exception of a mixup in team names and MarlinPie playing in the MvC3 5-on-5, teams run pretty flawless... Glad to know you still strongly support GG. Take care. Jo: What I am about to tell you is not an excuse, I promise! Sorry for playing so horrible in teams, the day started off as: I wake up at 6:45am for Marvel pools (only getting an hour of sleep because I was upset that GG singles couldn't finish), I arrive before the doors open, once the doors open, I go to my marvel pool-- so about 10-15 minutes later, my opponenet is nowhere to be found, and our match is up, 10-15 minutes later, the ref sends both him AND ME to losers (I didn't know this until later), despite me checking-in, asking who my opponent is, etc. I play my match against a really good Magneto player, I lose, I'm out (but I am Uninformed about it); I later talk to the ref asking if the pool is finished, he says "yes", I tell him my sistuation, all I hear from him is "there's nothing i can do"-- the EVO staff+other refs who were there, but in pools on the opposite side also over hear the situation; alittle later me and were my sister walking toward the EVO booth to tell them, but they ask me about the situation before I have a chance to tell them, long story short- MrWizard puts me in a pool for 2pm, because they felt I was done unfairly... I almost make it out of it, when we resume GG singles, it's alittle late because of that... By the time teams are run, me & Sol-Bumguy are at our 18+ hour w/n sleep in between+had to resume singles prior... So that's it... I hope you had a good time at EVO, Jo!<3 MarlinPie: Sorry about what happened when you were playing in the marvel 5 on 5... Thanks for still being a cool guy. Stay GDLK! Honnou: It was nice to meet you, congrats placing so high in teams! Jason D: GG's, sorry about you waiting to play your match for so long. Glad you had a good time at EVO! Scott Thank you for being so kind and being concerned about the tournament, I saw that business was great at the booth <3 Tae Seong Kim: were you the person who asked me if I was filipino on sunday night (I was wearing a white kimono top)? Too bad we never got a chance to play : (. Teyah: It was nice meeting you for the first time... I'm still verysorry about what happened... Oh, and great job in Marvel, I didn't even know that you played that game! Sorry if I seemed a bit weird, I'm very shy. I would have loved to play you in Guilty Gear (Eddie mirrors, etc), but, there was no more time...! Take care<3 The Canadians: So sorry about how things went with the GG tournament...You guys have no idea how awful I feel for you guys. But I hope you had fun in the USA, and did great in BB+other games. Stay strong, canadian soldiers!<3 The kind Canadian who donated most of the $300.00 pot bonus: Everyone is very grateful towards you, and your donation did EXACTLY what you wanted it to do; it created more hype, drew in more players (even Japanese) and made GG look like much more than a mere "side event" <3 Thank you so much! Anyone else I played/forgot: GG's, even I seemed to have lost focus at times tournament during matches... Alot was going throught my mind, and many times I just wanted to "get this over with", even if it meant losing alot of will to play, and if my opponent had the upper-hand (in HPs) I would just "give it to them"... I think this is the least I've played at any tournament...
  2. You were already on the pre-reg list, so I couldn't remove you... Sorry...
  3. My sister edited my post for me -- it's changed now. Edit: working on the full bracket results now. Edit: Team results: 1: Team Japan (RF/Hellmonkey/Kindevu) 2: Team Elvenshadow (Elvenshadow/Jesse/Honnou) 3: Ask Saif (ID/MikeZ/Kennyon) 4: Team MarlinPie 5: Team Old Men 5: Team AKA 7: Sinoyoo/Mike/Kaige 7: Team FRCflyingJohnny 9: Team DP's Suck 9: Team Jason D+Others 9: Team Hatchi Roku 9: Team Winners Don't Use Lag 13: Team Low-Tier Trash 13: Antonio Teams started late and others were still in BB/busy doing other things, so some were unable to enter. 5. I did show you the bracket, perhaps I didn't explain it clear enough though, sorry.. Forthermore, we only used the 64 man bracket as an example, so that everyone who signed up on DL would already be pre-seeded (we didn't want people playing their friends as 1st/and 2nd matches, every top player playing eachother, etc) -- without it, seeding 85+ people would take forever, especially on a laptop... Although I/We do apologize for the inconvenience, even if it was out of our control... I'm sorry that you were disappointed, hopefully you had a good time at EVO -- and if you decide to enter another GG side tournament at next year's EVO, you will have a much better experience.
  6. I will post the full results for Guilty Gear Singles and Teams as soon as I fix some errors in the singles bracket -- please give me a day or so, thank you. Oh, and just to add, I/we had to resume GG singles the next day (at 3pm, which we told as many people as possible) to avoid the tv's being turned off during grand finals, like last year... But unfortunately, I almost made it out of my 2:00pm MvC3 pool (I expected to go 0-2), so GG singles resumed a bit later than expected... Teams started a bit late due to us looking for RF for like 3 1/2 hours straight... The same thing happened when we resumed singles, and it would be very unfair to DQ RF when none of us had his number; and he came all the way from japan, and he was excited to enter the GG tournament(s). I also understand that some people did want to go out and eat/play other games, but I wish everyone would have told me or Sol-Bumguy -- some did, some didn't... I ended up sending aleast 10 people to losers, then some of them showed up a few minutes later, so I had to reverse the loss, then they left, then their opponent showed up before the 10 minute mark, so I had to reverse THAT! and things like this happened MANY times.... plus some people were complaining about about sent to losers or being DQ'ed, so when their opponent was still in the area, I just reveresed it and made them play their match... lastly, there were certain OS players that held up the tournament for hours, so their friends had to keep calling/texting them, so I felt that it wouldn't be fair to DQ him... The total entrants before some people decided to drop out was 88! (plus like 10 other non-entrants playing casuals) But for now, here is the top 8: 1. RF (FA) 2. AKA (MI) 3. Elvenshadow (FA) 4. Hellmonkey (BA) 5. Marlinepie (SL, ED) 6. Steve H (KY) 7. Latif (ED) 8. Saif/ID (OR) Also, we had like 13 teams (many people could not enter because there were still in other games/had to be somewhere around 8, etc)... Team Japan (RF/Hellmonkey/Kidevu) won, Elvenshadow's team (Elvenshadow/Jesse/Honnou) took 2nd...
  7. I will post the full results for Guilty Gear Singles and Teams as soon as I/We fix some errors in the singles bracket -- please give me/us a day or so, thank you. Oh, and just to add, I/we had to resume GG singles the next day (at 3pm, which we told as many people as possible) to avoid the tv's being turned off during grand finals, like last year... 8. I will add him in the place of a "bye". Thanks for the reminder, Teyah!<3
  9. A very sweet, kind-hearted canadian has donated $250 to the pot, bringing it to a total of $300!!<333 Alright, the final bracket -- up until more people sign up @ EVO! Due to so many canadian & socal player entering, it is inevitable that some may be in the same pool. I'm still pretty new at this, and this is me and Sol-Bumguy's first time doing brackets by ourselves. Hopefully, most of you are happy with it <3.
  10. I thought W looked abit too strong, but I wanted someone's opinion just to be sure. I will recreate another one, once I get back from work <3 TSK: Will do! Thanks!
  11. Ok, this is a Tentative bracket. If more people decide to sign up via DL, or in-person at EVO, I will add them in place of the bye(s) -- but, I cannot guarantee they will be seeded correctly. If anybody has a problem with the bracket, please feel free to post in this thread <3! p.s. I/We will have no internet access on thursday, so please post your concerns asap. Good luck to everyone!
  12. MacArthurBlunts: -60 =( Awww, everyone was looking forward to playing against your Slayer, and it is awful that you can't make it. SLEDGE: That is terrible, I hope there will be a GG side tournament next year. I also hope your situation will get better soon. Soniti and Polyfreeze: Thank you guys so much for doing this, I am sure EVERYONE will appreciate what you are doing, since GG tournaments have been lacking matches being recorded/streamed. Jo: Good to know that you've sorted out everything, and you're back in this. Sanoshi: You can still bring 2 TV's if you have room/want to-- so that way, you can play casuals in your room or between tournament matches, as well. It's up to you; much appreciated though, thank you.
  13. I would like to announce that we are indeed adding a small pot bonus of $50! The pot bonus will be split 70/20/10, I know it's not much, but most side tourneys don't even have a pot bonus afaik -- IMO, It's not all about the money, I want everyone to get hype, have fun, improve, and support Guilty Gear!<3<3<3 So you guys better show up to support your game, get dat money, and quite possiby fight RF! Mods please edit the title and change "tentative" to "Pot Bonus", plus add the date+time if there is enough room. Thank you!<3
  14. I don't know if anyone on DL has seen this yet, but RF, the Japanese Faust player/SBO champion, is confirmed for EVO: Japan invades EVO! Does anyone know if he would be interested in playing GG/maybe entering singles, etc? I'm sure there are many Guilty Gear players who would love to play this Tougeki champs' Faust <3.
  15. Sorry if this is going to be a problem but... IIRC more GG players play BB/and MvC3 than SF4, so the Guilty Gear tournament will run on friday, 7/29 at 3:00pm. However, for those of you who are arriving on friday afternoon or later, please post your concerns if the start time is a problem. Furthermore, if there is not enough time to run teams after singles on friday, teams will run on saturday, 7/30 at 5:00pm; since BB and MvC3 singles will be almost over by that time. I know GG tournaments usually don't start on friday, but I feel that this would make things easier on everyone, due to EVO's schedule (for the GG players entering BB and MvC3)...
  16. Thanks for signing up! <3 Asking around in-person is what alot of people usually do; I'm glad you're trying to preassemle a team (like Mac, Hellmonkey and MikeZ/Korean's did). People are usually pretty good about letting you borrow/use their stick for your tournament matches -- if somehow no one has a stick available for your match, I will let you use my/or my sister's stick; that is, if you can play on a hybrid (Happ Super Joystick+Seimitsu Buttons). Also, if you would like to sell your stick: Trading Outlet on SRK is the perfect place to do so (must be a registered user to see the forum).
  17. Quoted from first post: Rules: - Each player MUST use same character for the entire duration of the tournament, players are not allowed to use the same character as their team member(s)-- Ex: Slayer/Testament/Slayer, etc. - After team member loses match, next team member plays. - No EX, gold, or shadow characters. - Kliff and Justice are banned. - Button mapping is allowed. Unfortunately, you can't use the same character as your team member -- that's how it is at every GG tourney... but you're good with both A.B.A and Millia, so shouldn't have a problem finding a team mate.. Yeah, asking around is what alot of people usually do; but I think it would be easier for people to try to preassemble a team (like Mac, Hellmonkey and MikeZ did), but that really depends if you know people (maybe you can team up with Spiteful if he goes). <3
  18. Shoutouts to my sister saying pretty EVERYTHING I was going to say... Stay free... me... Sanoshi: I'm so glad I finally got to formally meet/talk to the same Sanoshi from irc, #Reload Online, etc -- you are a beautiful young lady, with a cute, and lovable personality<3<3! I'm very sorry if I seemed quiet and alittle weird (I'm very shy, and I was tired/out of it). Hopefully, we can have a Girl's Night Out at EVO. Oh, and Dat Bridget! I can't wait to see you rep CA, and tear people up with your awesome Bridget @ EVO<3 MikeZ: Nice to see/play you again; I don't care if I do play TE/ED, I will always hate Potemkin....! I saw you playing the "real" Mahvel (MvC2), I wanted to play you, but I didn't bring an adapter. See you at EVO? Latif: It was nice to see you again - congrats on getting 2nd after not playing GG in over a year; love that Eddie!<3 Jo: Were you fighting me seriously during the tournament? Do you hate fighting TE? Alot of american Johnny's tend to play defensively, but yours is something very, very special. Keep reppin' SoCal/Johnny. GoldenRody: You were the first, very good AC Millia I have ever played against -- thank you for the match-up experience! BTW, I love the videos on your YT cahnnel...! Xie & other's who helped run GG: Thanks for running the tournament... I think EVERYONE is very grateful, and appreciates all of your hard work. To anyone else I forgot, GG's. I would like to thank the RevaLAtions staff for making this event possible. Shoutouts to never fighting Satoshi, LA weather owning AZ's atm, japanese yomi, Latif beasting in GG after not playing in over a year, Satoshi for signing my stick (stay GDLK), Kyoku still having a beastly Anji, LA smog giving me a soar throat, japanese reflexes, Satoshi giving me & my sister his COLD -- maybe after I get well, I will acquire japanese yomi/etc (J/K)..... I hope to see alot of you at the Guilty Gear XX:Accent Core Side Tournament(s) @ EVO!<3
  19. ...so, Zong_one, do you accept me & my sister's MM's? We don't even really play this game anymore, so we would be Free -- if you don't want to, then that's okay I guess... meh...
  20. There is a 50/50 chance of me going to this -- if I do , I would like to MM ZONG_one 3/5 for $5; my sister will also be MMing you, for first to 3/5 for $5.00 (in GG of course). I'll also bring PS2 with GG if I go. <3

We would like to allow the tournament(s) to run smoothly & on time, so please try to arrive on time for your match-- in order to make things easier for everyone. Unfortunately, the tournament(s) may not be streamed (unless someone offers to stream it/them), but we will try our best to record the top 5 or top 3, if able to. Help with the tournament(s) and/or recording is always encouraged/appreciated. Please let me/us know if anything regarding the format, rules, date, time, etc needs to be changed or altered.
  22. After helping run the Official Guilty Gear tournament at this year's Final Round 14, Sol-Bumguy and I decided that we will run the GG side tournament(s) at EVO2k11 (If our bosses will let us have the weekend off, which may not be a problem). A Thread will be created this week when/if my boss approves my days off for EVO, and after the details are sorted out. We will bring our full set-up (PS2+TV+2 copies of GG), but atleast 1-2 more set-ups are needed in order to make it run as smooth as possible -- and for casuals♥ If everyone wants a successful and hype GG tournament this year, then planning early is the best way to go!♥
  23. Sadly, this was posted on SRK about a month ago ...
  24. These are probably the latest shout-outs EVER! ShinBlanka/Larry: Thank you SO MUCH for making Final Round possible-- all of your effort, hard work, and doing your best to keep fighting games alive is very kind, unselfish, and is much appreciated. Kyle: Thank you so much for letting everyone to play in your room! It was great to play you for the first time; great May, and thank you for double-checking the brackets when I asked you if they were correct. I'm so happy that you got 4th place - please keep playing GG ♥. SolidPlay: It was great to meet/play you again, sorry for using Eddie so much -- I hadn't realized that you did not know how to fight against Eddie until the last of the 2nd-3rd set, which is why I had to ask; still, you did waay better than anyone I've seen "fighting blind". Nice sets, beastly Sol! ♥ Alphakami: Thank you for bringing the TV's to Kyle's room, and GG's. Your Ky is pretty unique, and has some great solid combo's! Too bad we only played like 2 or 3 sets... The Ky mirror was really fun, and I enjoyed playing Eddie against you as well! Respect knuckles. Lil Majin: Congrats on WINNING Guilty Gear! I have honestly never seen ANYONE win a tournament with Chipp! It was nice playing you (eventhough I did terrible) -- too bad you were rusty, but I'm glad you managed to knock it off to win GG. Stay GDLK, and keep reppin' that Chipp! Stone: It was nice playing you again, sorry that I couldn't make out a word you were saying, while we were playing (that place was just too loud+I was tired). Eventhough you were rusty, you still have a beastly Johnny. Thank you for always being such a nice guy ♥ ♥. Take care. M. Song: You seem like a pretty nice guy, you also played that match-up much better than me. Nice Robo, GG's, you deserved that win. Silent Shinobi: It was awesome to play you for the first time, IIRC, this is the first time you've touched GG in years? Nice Ky mirrors, sorry for being a prick and slashbacking your stuff, I've been practicing SBing alot lately... GG's! ^_^ Zoogstin: It was nice seeing and playing you again, sorry for doing so terrible against you. I need to learn the ZA match up :psyduck. Though, imo you have the best US Zappa I have ever played! You represented NC very well! TheSlyMoogle: It was great to finally play you. You have a pretty good Anji, with some great comeback tricks --there were times when you had like 3% of health left, and you managed to pull off a win, good stuff. Keep playing Guilty Gear! KrazyKorean: Good job doing so well in casuals and in the tournament. IIRC, you were the first Millia I have ever played while using Eddie. Good job placing 9th . 4GottenHazama: Your spirit was quite inspiring (more people should be like you)... Not playing since Slash you say? Still, you did very well in the tournament, and please continue to play GG ♥. SuperFX: Really solid Johnny, GG's. To everyone else that I met/played, sorry, I seemed distracted at times, so I might have ignored some people by mistake.. No hate... It was good to see some old and new faces! Sorry to those I may have annoyed by asking to double-check to see if I did the brackets correctly a few times... it was my first time acting as a staff member/trying to help with a tournament, so sorry... Sorry if I may have appeared to be irritated at times, I was just tired from lack of sleep -- I have nothing but ♥ for you guys, so don't worry! GG's to everyone I played! Also, please don't think I'm a tier-whore for using/playing Eddie/and doing unblockables (that's what Eddie's about, plus I just like using Eddie). Take care! ♥
