  1. I prefer to be called Joker but I can't get the tag changed. I'm on the PSN PSN: Athrael
  2. Alright is there a purpose to 236D? I've been trying to figure it out but I can't seem to find a decent use outside of ending blockstrings and even that is risky, it has a fun CH effect that sends people flying but...idk it seems like a move that is a little out of place for him, any advice?
  3. Hmm...I'll try and test a few things when I get home...I hope your assessment of being able to beat it is correct and it's not something we just have to deal with but it may turn out that way. Edit: What about 5A/2A as soon as she crosses Haz? Edit: 5A/2A both beat the rush before or after depending on when it gets thrown out. So Spam jab=profit lol. But seriously...2A all day
  4. Ya I thought that's what you meant. I don't know how much recovery her dash through has, I assumed 236D is fast enough but you're probably right. In that case...block or gtfo and reset the distance...or you know...Fatal Counter Houtenjin is always a fun option but that assumes meter.
  5. Have you tried 236D after the rush through? It might be fast enough to catch her before the mix up...if not, I would honestly try either a reversal 214D>B before the rush through to neutralize the whole illusion or just block and wait for a 5B or 2A CH. That's just me though, not sure what a Definite punish is yet...will try later. 2A...not 6A...I'm dumb
  6. This may be my general shittyness but I still find this matchup to be...how do I put this...it's Hazama's match to lose but he will lose it often. I tend to get facerolled by counter 720's and untechable 360's...and I know they shouldn't be so new question...if you are barrier blocking can you tech a grab...just a curiosity. I just can't seem to not eat the damage...maybe pressuring him isn't the greatest idea though haha!
  7. While it's nice to see people interested in Terumi, I should state this for you all now who wish to pick up Hazama as your first character. If this is your first fighting game ...DON'T pick him...I assume this is not so I won't get into the specifics of why that is but ultimately he is...he will not be conducive to your learning the system nor will he help your general understanding of fighting games. Hazama is a character that requires patience, the ability to stay very calm, and a pretty steep learning curve. His movement being based on a drive and not physically running is very tricky. That being said, Hazama is made for the patient, if you have an ability to wait out block strings for your opportunity, if you have the ability to zone out your opponents and annoy them into making a mistake, if you are good at blocking, and if you have good execution you should play Hazama, if these things are lacking, I would suggest Ragna to learn the system, if you want to practice zoning while learning the system I would say Jin is a better choice than this. Noel is a great mixup character, and if you want someone who can get around like Hazama, try Tao although she is a lot of work too. Many of you may disagree with my assessment and that is of course your prerogative and I appreciate your thoughts, that being said, I stand by the idea that Hazama is a character that will only meld with certain players, if you like him that's wonderful but he isn't someone everyone will be able to use, his strange movement and odd spacing will make many people drop back to more traditional characters and that's fine, Ragna and Jin are still excellent choices (Ragna's top tier guys...he's a real good choice nowadays) but if you struggle with Hazama, he may be wrong for you and that's ok. Don't fret, you can always come back to him when you feel you are ready but you should know, if you pick him up, do not expect to win today. You will need to work.
  8. I've gotten some chance to fight Makoto offline and online here is my analysis: Makoto has very little way of fighting back from a distance, zone her out like there is no tomorrow, if she starts getting counterhit, launch D>D and have a field day with your choice of follow up. Her Jab is gdlk, don't get caught next to her, it will eat 5B everytime if you are too close. Her 3C moves her across the screen until she decides to attack, jab or sweep her for free combo's if you see it coming. Her 2C is deceptively slow and dodges everything that isn't a low, block low or beat it with 2B Her 214 "Illusion" (B/C versions) makes her real self tangible in the air, if she starts getting predictable, hit her with 6D/4D for a free combo. The illusions also disappear after she attacks so you may be able to chain her on reaction. Ok...there has to be more but that's what I've come up with for now. Good luck, honestly she doesn't seem like there is that much potential to her, her DD's are super short range and easily see-able so there shouldn't be any fear from randoms, her ball is extremely powerful if used at lv3 as are all her drives, be wary of this and her ability to fatal counter on whim. PS: Bait DP, Receive win
