  1. thank you both for your help. i never tried just holding down 9 on the stick until she jumps, then going to neutral (5) and tapping 6... it seems like because this basically guarantees i wont be trying to iad too early, now i can do the combo about 8 or 9 times out of 10. i still kinda feel like this is a temporary solution to my iad problems, because i wont always be buffering the iad startup with a move, but for now this is a godsend. thanks, really
  2. disclaimer: only read if youre in a charitable mood, because this is some boring 'help me im terrible' shit ive been trying to do litchi bnb involving the 5B 5C(2) 3C [D] ]D[ iad j.C ~ using various finishes to this to try and get the hang of comboing people from anywhere on the screen. its been several days of just training to do this, and i still cannot get the combo to work consistently (correctly done like 1 in 20 tries, greyed out combo like 1 in 5 tries) specifically, and i know this has been brought up before by people, i am getting hung up on the "3C [D] ]D[ iad" part. i have not played fighting games seriously before and so im obviously missing a lot of fundamental skills here. trying to iad with a stick for the first time has been very difficult for me. i finally found a grip that works and ive spent hours just iad-ing back and forth over my opponent in training, i can probably do it like 80-90% of the time. my problem is somehow when im planting the staff from 3C and then trying to iad and j.C, i keep getting a straight vertical j.C, OR a 6C (this is more rare). i would guess that this means that in the former case im not completing the forward motion of the air dash and in the latter im not completing the vertical motion. somehow though if i delay my jump a bit longer (which breaks the combo), i can iad no problem. am i trying to iad too fast? am i maybe buffering the 3C motion into my iad, thus causing it to screw up? or do i need to hold down [D] until im actually in the air? this is becoming kinda frustrating. yesterday i used virtual dub to look over 2 diff videos of people doing this combo, and did a frame by frame to see when the staff and litchi leave the ground. it seems like they release ]D[ and jump at the same time, is this what you guys do? 1) for those that know this bnb by heart, can you break down for me what your motions are during the 3C [D] ]D[ iad j.C - like are you jumping first then releasing, or what the fuck? is there a visual cue you use to let you know litchi is good to jump? for me ive been trying to go off the staff plant, and feeling out the timing from there (like i know i can jump when the staff goes from 3C animation to just shaking in the ground) 2) when you iad on a stick, do you simply just do 9 5 6?? i only ask this because some of litchi's moves that i found difficult (like all green / ryuuisou) were easier to do for me if i make it more like a 6 412 8 motion. is there any ezmode trick like this for iad?
  3. this is really great info (and im relieved to see that the combos ive been working on this week arent outdated lol) thank you for taking the time to put this up. people may be interested to know litchi frame data, ive noticed some of the other general guides have this or a link to it. deciphering those frame charts and actually applying it to my game is a bit beyond me but i am terribad at this game so who knows. also you have so many helpful youtube videos on your dukeknight account that have been the only reason ive been able to get the timings down on her bnb's. maybe a link to some of these in the combo section would be helpful too thanks again
  4. I was learning to do this yesterday after getting my ass beat by nu. For me what worked was initially just mashing the b+c almost at the same time as the 2D. Once I finally saw what the fastfall animation looked like, it was easier to get the hang of it (originally I didnt even know what to expect). Remember you have to be airdashing for this to work (at least i dont think it works in other cases). So just start up training mode, do a superjump and double tap forward to air dash. See how long it takes for your litchi to fall to the ground. After doing this a couple times then try doing the same but hitting 2D + B + C in the air, barely making the 2D a little faster (to me it practically feels like its all at the same time). This is what worked for me - still havent gotten the hang of it to do it every time but I'm getting there.
  5. I liked her char. design and I also have a thing for the mature onee-san type voice (inoue kikuko as I-No from guilty gear is probably the best example of this). Mostly though I was having trouble deciding who to main when I came across a bunch of litchi combo videos feat. obscene corner okizeme shenanigans. I really don't like playing against nu / arakune while cursed, so (short of resorting to playing as them myself) I figure the best response is to not let them get up, ever - hence litchi. Lately I'm discouraged due to not being able to pull off her combos once I started putting all the AI recovery options to quickest possible in training mode...getting the timings down has now become exponentially more frustrating... considering taking a break to learn someone else...
  6. niceee this is really recent. man for some weird reason when i try to search for this video on nico, even typing in the exact same keywords, no matches are found @_@ weird thing though, BLEED doesn't seem to follow up when he catches people with tsubame. look at 11:40 for ex. he catches him then does 5C staffless that hits nothing. is hes messing up a dash 6C or was hima just too far away...so hes trying to punish a forward roll?
  7. hey thanks, i think i finally got it to work regardless. rather than finessing the timing down, i started to furiously spam a then b once on the staff. it seems like having as little frames as possible in between your hatsu > riichi > A > B is what makes the difference in how far Jin's body moves from the corner in air. button mash saves the day!
  8. hey i had a question about riichi combos that i asked here (as 'salvbot' the first 2 posts) but no one has responded yet. basically i cant seem to get the 2nd riichi hit on Jin in the corner (according to the video, Jin requires A, B, C once on the staff) the details of my problem are in the youtube post, and the 'Jin section' of the video begins from about 2:00 anyone know what it is im doing wrong? this is LK's riichi combo video by the way thx
  9. cool thx ill have to check those out
  10. After reading through the BlazBlue SBO results (here) I was curious to see how these guys play (2 litchi players made it into the top 8). (in case you don't have a nico video account, use the redirect) People have already posted stuff on BLEED but I have not seen anything on Diechan. I found a few of his old videos here... 柳生(NO) vs DIEちゃん(LI) 南(NO) VS DIEちゃん(LI) DIEちゃん(LI) VS でし(LI) videos of manakan and a few others seem to be popular on our litchi forum but I havent seen much from those that played in SBO. I wasn't able to find any mention of "nochun" (another litchi player at SBO) anywhere. I suppose some of these guys are just shy/not camwhores/new to the scene? Does anyone have videos of diechan or bleed that are not ancient history?
  11. 2 weird things came up while i was practicing earlier today: 1) while trying out some of litchi's bnb combos i noticed that sometimes when i screw things up in the middle of the combo, i see the mantenbou in mid-air standing still, usually because i was holding down D. it does the shivering animation on the staff and then i can release it while it was standing straight up, in the middle of the air above litchi's head. 2) sometimes i notice litchi seems to throw out her mantenbou really fast while mid-air, and it comes out parallel to the ground (as if you had done a 2D placement) from her while shes jumping. am i just remembering this wrong or is there a way to consistently make her throw it this way? has anyone else seen either of these 2 things happen before? if so do you know what the inputs are to do this consistently?
