I don't see why you're having such a hard time. Get your combos down pat first, then work on everything else, positioning, spacing, neutral and all that good stuff. You got the mashing part down pat, but you seemed to have stopped there. Not even trolling, get your combos and confirms down, at least this way when you hit someone, you can make it count.

I have a better idea. Offline! Go into character forums and learn basic block strings and mix ups of various characters. Hop into training mode and record those block strings, include grabs. Then practice blocking them, then IBing them, then barrier blocking them, then IB Barrier them. You may fail here and there, but it will give the knowledge of basic block string and you'll be able to memorize and spot overhead when seen.

You're using the wrong button to dive cancel, you are technically cancelling a next dive into a ground attack. Now you can't use j.2b > j.2b now can you? You need to dive cancel with a or c, I've always used c. A very very very very late dive cancel. It's not easy at all and it looks character specific. I always just use j.236d if I grab after a double jump/air dash.
