  1. Hey guys I'm really noobish with Carl, to the point where in a match I'm purely trying to land a 2C to pop them up into a clap trap, and the most advanced combo I can do is 3C>2B>2C clap trap if I'm lucky... so I need some help haha... for one, I'm not really sure I understand how the throw loop works, because it's a purple grab so can't they just tech it? Also, would you say that the best combo to learn first is one involving summon? My problem is I'm only effective with Carl when the opponent is in between me and Nirvana, which is of course the obvious place for the opponent to avoid.... thanks
  2. Ah ok, didn't know they recovered that close. It hasn't been a problem so far, usually I'm way above them when I hit and input the command as I land. Sten, when you say green grab... what exactly does that mean haha.
  3. Here is a strategy question. I tend to jump a lot with Litchi, and I'm now in the habit of shooting my staff down to knock the opponent out of the air. Then I usually immediately follow with a 41236D, assuming that they will block, and run up to them and grab. Sometimes I switch up the grab with a crossup. So far this has been working. My question is, is this a viable tactic, or should I break this habit early?
  4. See for me I actually find it easier to combo after 2 hits... it gives you more time to prepare the rest of your combo... but I guess that could be it...
  5. Question: I played a Litchi online who beat me, and everytime he comboed he did: 5B>5C (1)>Itsuu> J.b>JC>J.b>j.c>Haku>Chun.... is there a reason to do this instead of letting the 5C hit twice? Does this do more damage, or does it have to do with spacing or something... cause he did this every single time, even if his 5B hit me point blank...
  6. Sorry man, I got really frustrated with this game and had to put it down for a few days. I tried to pick up Carl but the guy is at a serious disadvantage... he's the hardest character in the game to use, and he has the lowest health... I don't know why I do that to myself haha. Anyway, I'll be posting more, I hate to pick a popular character but I have to go with the ones I have the most fun with, so I'll probably be using Litchi and Jin... we'll see though, I kinda have the most fun when I just use everyone... Hurry up and get the game already! I'll definitely play more when you've got it.

  7. Thanks for the advice. When I was trying this combo the training dummy was Carl and it WOULD NOT work... but when I switched to Jin I could get it everytime... is this harder or impossible to do against carl? Also what would you recommend for a good starting combo to learn with carl and Nii-san... so far I only know just Carl combos...
  8. Hey guys, I'm brand new to Carl and I need some newbish help please. In this combo, 1. - 2A->5B->6B->623C->5B->jc->jB->dj->jB->jC/j214C Why can't I get the 623C to connect after 6B? Also, if you just hit 5B->5B doesn't it do the same thing as 5B->6B? For me they both do the mid flag to low flag combo... so is there a difference between the two? Thanks!
  9. Haha, good to see you're on here finally...that mean it came?

  10. Let's put it this way: In ninja turtles, I was Donatello, in MvC2 Gambit, and in Soul Caliber, Kilik... and I'll say that Litchi is probably the most fun to play with out of all the staff users.
  11. Haha, alright well I tried to do this a million times and not once did I get the 2C to hit... I guess I just suck or something, but I give up with this one, I'm just gonna stick to my 5B... I play mostly online anyway so it's better with the lag... Anyway, what combos do you suggest I learn next? So far I can do one 5B-->5C-->3C combo and one 5B-->5C-->ItsuuC combo... though I'm much much better at the Itsuu combo... So far in the corner I've just been doing 5B-->5C-->3C--> D--> Hatsu Haku Chun-->Staff2-->6C--> 623D (forget the name)--> 6C... is that ok for now? Should I work on a better combo? Basically I'm looking to expand my play beyond a level 30 (online ranked) which is about what I am now... I would call it mediocre at best and one more question... what is my best option for a j.B CH where it slams them against the wall? Keep in mind I'm mostly an online player, so I deal with lag a lot
  12. I tried holding C to get the 5 frames out of it, but I still can't do it... it's kinda pissing me off... it's like they bounce too high/far away once they hit the ground, or they have enough time to recover before my 2C lands... Also, which characters will 5B drop? I use it online cause like Sten said it's easier to hit with in lag, but I haven't dropped anyone yet... although I guess i've only really played Jin, Ragna, Noel, and Hakumen online...
  13. sorry, another question... in this combo ---> 5B 5C(2) itsuuC chun/tk chun/j chun 2C JBC D airdash JC staff2 6C tsubame 6C~, what is the benefit in doing 2C after j chun instead of 5B? I have an incredibly hard time getting the 2C to land, but if I use the 5B I can do this combo almost all the way through... should I just stick with the 5B, or does the 2C make the combo that much better that I should just suck it up and learn it?
  14. Thanks guys, I've been getting the Chun to hit (even online) but they always, always recover before I can pop them back up with the 2C, even the training dummy. So basically I'll hit them with the chun, land, and whiff with 2C. This is the move where she goes low and punches diagonally upwards right? Another question: When you j.BCD, that means attack with B, C, then D in the air right? Does the D make you stop midair, giving you time to iad? I haven't been able to get this far in the combo yet (Seriously, I'm a noob), but it doesn't seem like you have enough time in the air to attack with all three and still iad...
  15. Ok, I can do this combo up until the TKchun (I just do a j. Chun)... so basically I can't do it at all. For some reason I'm always too far away to connect with the 2C or something... or the computer can always tech roll before I hit them... do I need to be faster with the jump so I'm closer when I hit them with the chun? Also, when you say jBCD, is there specific timing there or do you just do it as fast as you can? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm having a rough time with this... By the way, I do the j.chun because I have no idea what a TKchun is... is that where youhit 2369C instead of 236C? If so, what does that do for you?
  16. Thanks Noez... yea imo the Itsuu combos also look sweeter... but I'm pretty horrible at air combos so that's why I've been using the ground combos... I need spend a few hours in training... what is the best Itsuu combo to start out with do you think?
  17. Alright thanks for the tips... I'll try varying my timing, I just need to break out of this rhythm that I'm in... I also want to learn some of the combos starting with 5B --> ItsuuC... the timing seems pretty strict for that though... how often do you guys use those in battle? Also can I get a link to Lord Knights youtube?
  18. Yea sorry I do mean JC... well in this combo, 5B 5C(2) 3C [D] ]D[ iad JC haku staff2 dash JBC land tsubame 6C~ after ]D[... I guess you don't JC right after D... but you do it after the IAD? I don't really get it at all actually haha... right now it's really hurting me because what I do now is just dash forward and hope that my opponent misses the tech roll... in which case I can haku and continue, but it messes up the timing of the staff2, and usually just ends with the haku hatsu and whatever the last one is... you see what I mean? I thought that JC was when you canceled a move by jumping... but why is it after the iad in this combo? EDIT: OOOOhh shit sorry, I just realized that it's j.C and not jump cancel... wow I feel like an idiot haha... of course that doesn't change the fact that I still can't jump cancel, but at least I can go back and try this combo again EDIT 2: Sorry, I just tried this with j.C, and the training dummy recovers before I can make it to him to j.C... is that just me waiting too long to iad after the ]D[? Or am I maybe jumping too high?
  19. Ok... I'm not sure what my problem is, but I CANNOT air cancel, which basically prevents me from completing most of Litchi's BnB combos... So, after you 3C, you then D... at which point can you air cancel? Do you hold D until Litchi recovers and then immediately release D and air cancel at the same time? This is my first fighter with AC, so I've never done it before... and it's pretty frustrating to not be able to do something that seems so simple for everyone else...
  20. Hopefully this is the place to do this... I need some Litchi sparring partners on PSN... people that can show me the ropes a little bit... any takers? I'm on a lot... PSN is Urkelbot45...
  21. Yea actually that was my bad, I was looking for it in it's own section but it was just kinda mixed in with the regular moves... a mod can delete this thread if they want... plus this ability is a little disapointing for me, I was hoping for control to the same degree that Rachael has over the wind... oh well, Litchi's still a bad ass character
  22. I couldn't find this in the other threads about her, and I think this is kind of vital to understanding Litchi. When you place her staff, you set the path it takes when it attacks, right? Well, what are the different paths? Are there only two? I've found that setting the staff with 2D sends it upwards, and 5D sends it forwards... is that it? I think I (and most other Litchi beginners) need a simple, yet detailed description of how this works... thanks
  23. Ah alright, so if it's not a CH then the hitstun won't last long enough? I guess the chances of it being a CH are pretty good though... if they're forward dashing they're probably ready to attack mid air...
