  1. Off the top of my head? Um...Uh...Tales of the Abyss. Idk anymore, mainly just been playing fighters lately. Its getting harder to enjoy new games when they mostly feel like the same game I played last year with a new cast, new story, but the same plot twists/devices.

  2. Grendy is now confirmed for ass kickery. Get Hype..er
  3. I'm working on a Johnny, my main would have to be O-Sol just everytime I turn the game on another character looks badass and I gotta try um.
  4. I'm fine with that but skye, BO, and toasty I'm expecting things from you. The better be some Fafnir's, Dark Angel's, and Pilebunker's to get the crowd going. Don't worry ill make sure to hold my end as well.
  5. So if I'm reading this right the whole season of GG and MB will be free? Then if hype is big enough next season will start with some monies involved? Edit: The dan battles sound pretty awesome, in all honesty I may jump in on those just because it would be some nice practice. If any of the other scenes ever got big enough I hope we would adopt this kinda setup.
  6. Last thing is try not to charge cancel on confirmed hits. Your best bet is to finish the combo and get the same or likely more charge after 22x. Again I won't say don't do it, there's times it can be useful, but most the time its just useful for your opponent. Send me a message if you wanna do some more matches, I would love to see some more Tsubakis floating around XBL.

  7. So I'm not the best player in the world to give advice but after our mirrors last night there's a few things I can give you advice on. Don't mash her DP. It works well enough in mirrors but outside of the get ready for some trades or straight up getting hit. Learn the follow up for it, its only like 1.6k but screw it your Tsubaki. Hound that damage. Learn some more charge combos, 22D > 6CC > air combo isn't bad but if you have 2 charges 22D > 6C > 214D > 2CC > 5C(whiff)C > air combo does 4K. Like cake said learn mugen, there are 3 mugen combos (midscreen, corner, and close to corner but not quite) that work on the entire cast and can break 5K (except midscreen 4.9k). They do this and only require you to have 2 charges at the start. j.214x series is UNSAFE on block, won't say never use it because it can be helpful, but don't use it everytime you charge in the air.

  8. I'm all for some tsubaki mirrors though I'm pretty bad at them. Send me a message on XBL sometime I'm usually on.

  9. Tuesday sounds good to me Jay, and at 4 I should definetly be able to jump into it next time, get ready for some Tsubaki viewing on Tuesday.
  10. I think Jay's first stream of CS was one of his first streams in general so the view count was pretty low, I remember the first time I saw him doing SSFIV it was pretty low as well (not 30 but ya know not the 500+ he has now). Anyway he said if he got enough viewers he would try to set up CS streams weekly so lets hope that happens ^.^
  11. Thanks for the CS stream jay hope you decide to do it again sometime, I'll try and get my Tsubaki in there when you do.
  12. I was indeed responding to kurushi's post, I don't follow SRK so I had no idea they have a thread dedicated to announcing when streams for tournys and such are going on. Like Axis said getting an offline stream can often require a lot of time and effort to get going. At the recent michigan masters tournament they streamed SSFIV it looked like it took them quite some time to get setup and have everything going smoothly and even then they were only streaming one TV out of the 6 or so that matches were happening on (not that this made it any less hype). Anyway if we could get streams going on a somewhat regular basis I think a thread to say when they are would be awesome, but if they only pop up once every 3 or 4 months then there's no real need to do such a thing. On a side note that's still related one of our guys in the michigan scene is set up to start streaming when we get together for casuals/tourneys, hope we can get some of you to enjoy it.
  13. That no one wants to watch online matches mentality seems like it really kills a lot of hype for the games. I can understand that some people played for 6 months on the cabs before console release so they can't stand even the slightest bit of lag. Honestly I have no issue with that, if I had a cab near me I probably would have been going at it before console release as well. But going out and constantly putting down netplay (even if the code is bad it could easily be worse) and netplayers does nothing but hurt the community, a lot of places don't have cabs anymore hell I don't even have a legit arcade within an hour of me in any direction (chuck e cheese doesn't count). The online community really is where a lot of people are gonna get introduced to the game, after they've played for a while they may be more interested in offline play (this is how I was I played CT strictly online and with CS I've been making an hour and a half drive into michigan to play offline). This may be a bit off topic in general but I think setting up online streams will help bring players together to play competitively or even just to show non-players the game and get them more interested. Some of you might be turned off by online but you should try to keep that to yourself so you don't turn newer players or strictly netplayers away. /2cents
  14. Sadly I wont be able to jump into the room to have some fun with my Tsubaki but I will make sure that I come watch and get the stream atleast 1 viewer closer its goal. And even if alot of the more well known players of BB stay away from online whats to say that we cant find some good online players? I believe it was the first stream for CS that had DarkHolyOrders in it and his Ragna was pretty amazing. I know that I saw JohnnyRage (he has I's somewhere in his name), HepatitisZed, AzureRevolver, and MDK Sama to name a few (forgive me but its been a while since a CS stream was up). These are all some really good netplayers, and while they might not be the top players of our nation they still can put on some damn good shows, of course lag might pop up in a match or so but you know what thats just what comes with netplay, we cant seem to get many offline live streams for CS to raise the hype so why shouldnt we use whats available to us? Don't let this opportunity flop guys, this could be a great way to find better players online and possibly even learn a thing or two. /2cents
  15. I'm pretty sure I tried 236D against makotos 3C and it didn't work. Should still test it though as its highly possible I'm wrong.
  16. Just a little something I came across while playing a friends Makoto, the 22x series will beat out her 3C. It comes down to reaction but if you can do it free 22D's are yours. Dunno if this is old news or not but hope it can help a bit.
  17. This probably doesn't need to be posted but I took my Tsubaki to her (and my) first tourney last night and managed to snag fifth place out of 15 players. Lost to a Ragna (who went on to take 1st) and a Tager who seemed to have the answer for everthing. However I did manage to knock a bang and litchi player into the losers bracket along with some others. The tips you guys gave me in the critique thread helped out a lot and I was able to work in some good tick throws, mix ups, and even some halfway decent resets. A lot of people were leery when they saw me pick her but tsubaki love was pretty high by the end of the night. So thanks to all of you for taking the time to critique my tsubaki, it has helped immensly.
  18. I actually saw a much strong 22D corner combo tonight, I think it broke 4K. I definetely need to learn this. Your right, Jin's 5D > Dash Cancel can be CH 5b'd but Im pretty sure if they input Gale (623C) Then they get the CH. Suppose this is just one of those 50/50 guessing situations. The Install combo was nice I got lucky my opponent chose not to burst. On the subject of throws, I agree whole-heartedly that I need to use them more. My main problem is figuring out when I can mix them in. I recently started using her kara-throw after 5B, 5BB, and 2B. This works out pretty well as long as theres no mashing but Im sure theres alot more places to get it in. tk.236C seems like a fairly good tool for getting back quickly to the ground but using it multiple times in a match seems to be asking to get punished. I usually use it after a 6C to continue ground pressure but I think Im gonna have to try working it into a grab, that sounds like it'd be a good spot for one. 214a > 5b was more than likely a forced bad habit. I've been using grab - 214b - 5b - air combo for such a long time that I throw the 5b after 214x almost on reaction. Need to get into the habit of 214a > 22c wallbounce or 214a > 2a crossunder. It also might have just been me trying for a bad reset though. Another thing I have alot of problems with is 22D resets, I can get lucky enough doing a 5CC > 22[D] but I would like to actually have some tech traps up my arsenal. 22C > 22[D] in the corner seems to work if you time it correctly but again, theres just gotta be more opportunities for me to utalize this. Thank you, and thanks for taking the time to watch some of the matches and give me some feedback.
  19. Hey there fellow Tsubaki players, Grendy here and hoping to get some advice. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/9379408 This is one of the recordings from PeacefulJay's Live Stream on 9/5/10. The first 5 matches have me in them, after that you can find me spread apart. Im feeling pretty confident about my Tsubaki but theres still plenty I do wrong (some of it I know Im doing wrong, im sure theres other things i just dont know). Im going to my first Tourny with her on the 18th and would love to improve upon my game before heading out there. Any tips at all would be great, I can take the critisism (sp?) so feel free to lay it on me. Hopefully I dont suck to bad. Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for the reply, I had completely forgotten bout the bbvlog/tauntloop posting up videos. I'll have to check if I'm high enough on the leaderboards for them to post up a match. Been doing to many player matches lately lol.

  21. thanks for the reply, ill have to see if I can connect with mAc or Cakehh. A match against you would be.a nice one to have up as well.

  22. 3 Charge Install / 5 Charge Corner Combo Tsubakis back to corner 236D > 22D > 6C > 214214D > 623D > j.214D > 214D> 5C > 2CC > sj.C > j.CC > 236A > 214A (5271 dmg) Tried doing this as more of a midscreen combo but using a second 236D after j.214D seems to give to little untechable time. After typing this out it occurs to me that I could probably do 236D > 22D > 6C > 236236D > 623D > j.214D > 214D> delay 2CC > 5C(w)C > sj.B > j.C > j.CC > j.236A > j.214A. (5420 dmg) 3 Charge Install Mid-Screen Combo 22D > 214214D > 214D > delay (walk forward*) 623D > j.236D >delay j.214D > 66 > 2CC > 5C(w)C > sj.B > j.C > jc > j.CC > j.236A > j.214A (5000-5300 dmg dependent on 623D hits) Alright I tested this combo on Ragna/Carl/Tager. It works on all three, I think these three cover the general hit box ranges (maybe i should test Noel/Makoto as well but Im not feelin it atm). Just a couple things about the combo. 1. Its kinda tough to do. Honestly I think this is over run by the fact that I find her mid-screen combo dmg to mainly be kinda meh, Most of her damaging combos seem to be from j.214D into corner, this is nice if your a bit to far from that corner. 2. Walking Forward during the first delay. So far this seems neccessary against Ragna/Carl, however if you do it against Tager the combo wont work as you will be to close to him and he will get hit with both parts of j.236D. 3.j.236D needs to come out fast, like real fast. After the second or third hit of 623D you need to be ontop of things. 4. Delaying j.214D is easy, let them bounce once, this combo leaves you close enough to the ground that you can clearly watch them bounce. 5. Last thing is the dash after j.214D, this took me a bunch of tries to get but it seems you can run right as the last 1 or two sparkles are going. It takes time to get it down, but right now it seems like it should be worth it. Im still sitting in the training room so if I should figure anything else out I'll just keep editing this post to avoid doubles. Edit: Actual damage on Corner Combos, added sj cancels, added Mid-Screen combo. Edit 2: Tested these combos on Noel/Makoto. Combos still hit fine except for the final j.214A. j.214A can still if you really delay 2CC > 5C(w)C, having it not hit loses bout 60 dmg (whoopie) and a knockdown/charge oppertunity. Last Edit: I've tested the midscreen on most of the cast. It looks to me like the major difference on characters is delaying j.214D. Rachel for example will get crossed up after 5C(w)C if she is to high in the air. Also this combo doesn't seem to work on Arakune. His hitbox is too vertical and the orb always hits right after j.236D.
  23. Makotos j2c seems to be a end all beat all move against tsubaki, the best I've seen against it is 2c clashing. I can't say for sure since my reactions to clash are slow but I imagine 2c > clash > 2c would beat her out. As for the hitbox I've had slight problems with it in the air but so long as you jc (9) you should get the finisher.
  24. Just wanted to say thanks for the invite. Was over at a friends so I had to jump out pretty quick. Next time I'll bring my tsubaki.

  25. Another combo I found while messing around and didn't see in the combo page. Level 2 combo works midscreen or corner: 214D > 2CC > 22D > 6CC > hjc > j.C > j.CC > 236A > 214C (4310) Landing this off of a throw nets 3713. When I was first posting this I thought it had all linked from 5BB > 5CC, went to check the damage and noticed o well suppose its still nice to have the knowledge.
