The thing is, these threads are semi-permanent so that others who wouldn't be in the chat have a chance to catch up on stuff that could be missed. Albeit, a lot of it is just chatting but occasionally there would be some ideas thrown out there that need to be someplace accessible. And, we wouldn't have avatar themes then since we do one every new General thread...
