Hey LAMG, i am capturing in 720x480, i just think it has something to do with the fact that i'm playing on an hdtv in standard definition and capturing in standard definition that is distorting the video to those proportions. however i like the widescreen black bars along the top and bottom of my videos =D btw -got another match between me and a V-13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTFr5wsdzkE

I am currently using a dazzle 101 DVD recorder. Then using virtual dub for capturing and windows media encoder for compression.
