not enough scumbag blade, i am disappoint I run into the same problem with NEC every year. It's like 20 minutes from my family in PA, and I go back there for Thanksgiving just the week before, then I have to drive all the way back up to Virginia. Then right away I'd have to drive right back to PA for NEC. On top of that, since it's close there really isn't a point of getting a hotel room and staying for the weekend, so I only go the first day with my brother. But it's PS3 only, so I can't really play on that either outside of just gimped C mashing. (Somehow I always get 13th place though.) I just end up basically paying $40 to go say hi to everybody for 2 hours and then leaving :3 :3 Still fun though. You make me want to play you again Blade.

"whos the first guy that's gonna press drive" lol, i should've gone

Tager doesn't have anything out of his OD aside from OD + 720. -
I disagree withe everybody saying to try everybody. It's not like you can tell what their play style is really like until you can get decent with them, and that means playing with them for a bit. You will learn more about how other characters play, by fighting them when other people use them. I never went through a lot of characters, I just picked Hakumen and that was it. As for knowing how to punish moves, that's where frame data comes in, or just asking us what moves are unsafe. Some moves have longer recover than others, which means once you block them you can attack. Inferno Divider, for instance, is invincible during its attack and beats pretty much anything you throw at it. But if you block it, it takes forever to recover, and that's when you can hit back. You can learn that kind of stuff through trial and error, or looking at frame data for the character's move and comparing to your own moves and how fast they are for which ones to use to respond. (By the way, Hakumen's counters also fall into the punishable category. If you do it and they don't take the bait, you're stuck in recovery for like 3 hours and they can hit you.) For Hakumen's counters, you should look at them like checkmating the opponent's attack as if it was a chess game where you saw their move coming or they did something that's too late for them to stop, rather than just throwing it out there and hoping you get lucky. Happens to me all the time. :8/: -
That's the same problem I have with Makoto's 6B. Even though the frame data says it's slower than other overheads I can block, the animation isn't as distinctive as things like Jin 6A.
-
What about that body slam move. It looks like it can make a lot of air combos still give knockdown and oki.

You shouldn't be trying to use his counters all over the place. They're very risky, but if you have a good grasp on what the opponent is thinking, can be used well. But if you're still learning everything, obviously it's going to be early for that. You want to just block and then punish unsafe moves. Unsafe moves are moves that, when blocked by you, leaves you able to act earlier than your opponent. You'll be able to hit them while they're still recovering from their attack, and they won't be able to do anything but get hit. But that requires you being patient enough to wait it out until the right moment. That's why it's important to know what your moves are, and what the properties of the moves your opponent is using are. But you can also get by with Hakumen just keeping people away from you with his sword. If they're clumsy they'll just rush right into it and get smacked in the face. His combos are still tough for a beginner, but simpler than a lot of other character's. You can just start with easier stuff and build your way up. Remember, combos are what you do AFTER you land a hit. But more important is all the stuff that goes into being able to land that first hit. The combo is just an afterthought.

> Tager > crocodile tears ok We didn't really hear much about Haku's increased star gain except just vague stuff. Without that ridiculously fast rate, he really would be completely fucked. I mean, he has to spend like 3 stars to do 1.5k. But since he gains so many stars he can pump out the damage faster and recover. Based on what we heard though thinking that he would be worse off after the nerfs was a reasonable thought. -
It's probably something like, Noel: "I'm going to do something right for once and go save Tsubaki!" and then Ragna will be like "Don't be a stupid bitch you're just going to get yourself killed" and try to stop her. But then she gets bodied by Nu.

That Mu picture is kind of neat though. Younger Noel is Noel as when she's adopted by the Vermillion family and living as her normal self. The robe or whatever Noel has on in the Mu picture is what she's wearing right after the experiment facility housing her gets destroyed in the CT intro. I remember her standing amidst the wreckage with the camera slowly zooming in on her. Pretty sure that's what she was wearing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnXgDh8gX7E#t=6m00s Yup there it is. -
lol, east coast. welp

I'm gonna make Azrael my bitch with Hakumen once he's out. Just watch.

When I was first starting off I kind of felt like people who pushed mirrors were trying to say they were better than me or some stupid bullshit, but nowadays I'm just hungry to fight anyone I can learn stuff from, and usually everybody reacts to situations differently and at least lets me see what works and doesn't work. Plus, I think in this case specifically, we're all familiar with each other on the Haku forums and it's fun to get to play against people you know. The only difference is we use the same character here. Also, I feel that most of the skills you use in Haku mirrors specifically can carry over to other matchups since it's just footsies / fundamentals based.

I should set up a Haku section at the next Major and host an all Haku tournament.

It's weaker without seals, than with seals. No seals -> normal Seals -> stronger
