I added you Pyrex. What time(s) do you usually play? I'm sometimes available on weekday nights, but usually only from 7P-10P EST due to my job. I'm often very flexible on the weekends since I usually get home from the gym at 10A EST (I work out early to avoid the weekend crowd).

Hello people, I had the game since launch but just started playing this week (lotta work at work). I'm new to the game and willing to learn. ^^^^ Thanks. I was debating S. Labrys (Asterius) and Ken since they're both puppet characters, but Ken seemed more like Relius than Carl. I'll just have to try out characters and see who I like when I have free time, but those are good starting points. I could see Marie or Rise being similar to Mu-12, but are there any parallel characters to Amane or Kagura? The biggest weakness with Shadow Frenzy seems to be that the Burst mechanic makes Shadow Frenzy tantamount to a weaker version of HD Mode from KOF13. The only way an HD Mode combo can fail is due to execution, whereas Shadow Frenzy has the added risk of a Burst by the opponent, which sucks since all that meter would go go bye bye.

Hi all, I'm interested in getting into Ultimax seriously. To that end, I need some help choosing a main and 2 or 3 alts (playing the same 1 or 2 characters gets boring really fast). I haven't had much of a chance to play BB:CP a lot because I don't own a PS3 (will get one soon though). When I play at my friend's house, I mainly use Carl, Kagura, Amane, and Mu-12. I generally like characters that: * Take a decent amount of skill to use well * Aren't a dime-a-dozen online (I loved abusing people's lack of Hawkgirl and Cyborg experience in IGAU) * Have a good mix-up game and gimmicks that can be annoying to deal with * Armor on their moves I dislike: * Extreme rush down because it can feel mindless at times * Overreliance on turtling and keepaway Thanks in advance P.S.: Are Shadow-type characters really as bad as I've heard? It seems like most people think Shadow-type is complete garbo except for Chie, Mitsuru, Naoto, and Yu.

This thing is ass ugly, but I'm a pad warrior because I can't ween myself off of pads due to the over decade long absence of arcades in my life and that I'm not interested in tourney play. I've wanted something to replace my HORI EX2 for a while because trying to play Carl on the EX2 is tantamount to getting my fudge packed.

I chose to main Carl because I loved Liesolotte in Arcana Heart, although my Carl is ass because I don't have an arcade stick yet. I need a good bat top stick for the 360 because I hate ball top sticks. Hell, I main Gen in SSF4, and he's basically gimped without a stick because stance dancing is impossible on a pad.

Is Carl's Counter Assault a good use of his Heat? I don't really find that I use Carl's supers except for Fermata during the 2C -> 8D loop.

I just picked up Carl and I love his style (I sub Liesolotte in AH). I do have a couple of questions about how to use Carl. 1) How do I do Negative Edge? I know some of his BnBs require Negative Edging, but I can't consistently pull it off. 2) Con Anima seems pretty useless, so if its a good move, when should I use it?

I just got the game a few weeks ago and haven't played too much due to grad school. I've heard that Carl gets wrecked for free without his infinite clap/throw loop. Is that true, because I enjoy how Carl plays since I loved Liesolotte in Arcana Heart, but I won't waste my time if I have to do one combo to stand a chance? Thanks
