  1. I'm not disagreeing with your point about being able to kill Tao with two corner combos. That typically happens when Lambda gets Tao in the corner. It is just that it is hard to get to that point. Tao has a better neutral game than Lambda does and it shows in this match-up. And I think 5D has a slim chance of CH most characters without projectiles because they shouldn't be hitting buttons at that range...And hitconfirming CH 5D itself isn't an easy feat. It is safer for Tao to attack Lambda in neutral than it is for Lambda to attack Tao. That is pretty much the reason why the match-up is in her favor. As XDest pretty much said, Tao's movement is great and excels at getting in and it is pretty hard to stop her. Most of the Japanese Lambda seem to jump and try to react to what Tao does but that only takes her so far.
  2. Well, Tao's corner carry is pretty much the same as Lambda's and Tao does 4K+ in the corner just like Lambda meterlessly. The chances of actually getting that CH 5D are slim since Tao isn't going to be pressing buttons while grounded unless she is right next to you. It would be more common for Tao to get a CH jD against you and that hurts. It isn't as though you are wrong about Lambda killing Tao in two combos but that just doesn't mean much since you most likely not going to land those nice hits to always get those combos against her. Similar to how pretty much how Lambda's other match-ups are with the other character trying to do the same thing you say we should against Tao.
  3. Double posting because I am too lazy to edit I'll give you the first point, although I don't really think it is that important. While Tao does have a hard time doing a combo on a standing Lambda, Lambda will have just as hard a time just hitting her. Tao has all of the movements options to make zoning her at any distance difficult. It is just too easy for Tao approach in the blind spots of D moves and it is insanely hard to AA a Tao who knows how to move in the air. Once Tao has 50 meter, you can no longer use 214D as a tool, since she can reaction super it easily. It is by no means an impossible match-up but it isn't as easy as you make it seem.
  4. Tao is more fun for the time being to me
  5. Who said it would be a direct D? I am not trying to theory fight and figure out how to prevent every situation. But it would be really hard to make Tao block a raw 236D, even if she is in a gravity well and that was supposed to be my point. I'm at work and can't really do long posts right now. I'll do it once I get home.
  6. I disagree Tao can just air dash out of the gravity well and D towards you while you are trying 236D. No self respecting Tao is gonna stay grounded long enough to block an empty 236D.
  7. Other characters got nerfed too so it equals out I guess.
  8. I'm at work. I won't be on until after 1am at the earliest.
  9. I know that feeling. I can't use my gold color unless I feel I am doing good. But you should stick to FT5 or FT10s for awhile to make it easier to figure out what you are doing wrong.
  10. You can't expect Batou to know about West Coast Hazama.
  11. Makes sense
  12. Which is why you backdash in those cases. Ragna doesn't recover fast enough from either one to punish your backdash. He can punish the backdash with dash 5B, but that would lose to Lambda's 2A. Of course, you don't always want to take this risk, but it is an option from 236B and it generally better than continuously doing close range 214D/236D.
  13. You're gonna actually make me block stuff next time Tempest? That's no fun. I liked disrespecting your pressure.
  14. I was doing it against TD. I was surprised at how well it was worked. Of course, TD could have just been having a bad day.
  15. I upback against Rachel all the time now and nothing bad happens to me
  16. So who here usually plays after 1am?
  17. What about her? I honestly don't remember this morning's matches. It was 2am, it was after work, and I was groggy as hell. I had originally planned to do a quick FT5 using my Tao against whoever entered but then you showed up using Lambda and I had to do mirrors, regardless of what my originally intentions were. That would be like a Hakumen subbing Jin. Why would you use a less awesome version of someone who is biologically the same as your main? No disrespect meant to Noel mains of course. I just hate her personality a lot.
  18. Doubt it. I've played many matches where neither player knew how to use their character and they were fun. Isn't he XBL only now?
  19. Your Bang vs my Tao needs to happen soon. We can both mash semi-aimlessly together.
  20. Are there any good Hazama on PSN besides the ones who main Jin?
  21. Maybe back in CT. Continuum Shift Bang isn't that fun to me.
  22. Everyone of you should learn Tao or Hakumen. They are amazing. Edit: Maybe Litchi too but I haven't personally tried her in a long time. I just remember her as being cool to use.
  23. 1) She techs and presses 6D while doing it. She flies out of range of 236D and can punish you for using it. 2) There is an 18 frame gap between 3C and 214D. Every character has a way to deal with it and I'm pretty sure all of them can do it on reaction. You should probably tell the people you play about that so they can start punishing you for doing so. 236B is safe if they block it and you can either 2A or backdash to try to get some momentum afterwards if you don't feel like just blocking (assuming they didn't IB it). 3) I wouldn't recommend using it outside of combos and the occasional 4B/3C mix-up from it. It is better to use jump cancelable moves.
  24. GGs Nick. Tao is so much fun. But I don't understand why my execution is better on a 360 pad. I haven't practiced on this pad in a long time.
