I really hated a lot of the arbitrary changes in BBCPEX, but the new Carl is shaping up to look super fun again. Any news if 2D is actually usable again? Actually, is there a comprehensive list of the final Carl changes in BBCF, now that the game's been out in the wild for a bit?

[CP] Carl Clover Gameplay Discussion (Changelog in OP)

I'm a bit late to the Extend party... Is there an extensive list of all the Carl changes in BBCPEX somewhere? The OP change log in this thread refers to vanilla CP and the Wiki patch notes are not complete (e.g. missing that 6D now slides on hit, allecan no longer working on block, etc.). Thanks! -
Carl seems to have lost Con Tenerezza without getting a new special move.
-
You're assuming that these change logs are complete. Since Carl was considered a top tier character before, I find it highly unlikely that they're giving him nothing but buffs -- I'd expect a lot more changes (including nerfs) to surface once the arcade version of BBCP 2.0 is out.
-
Definitely doable on a controller -- try mapping D to R1 and let the magic work.
-
Actually, most of the Japanese Carl mains did, switching to characters like Litchi and Jin because 1.0 Carl had "too many bad matchups to be competitive" in their opinion.
-
During the early CT days, people listed Carl even below Tager in tier lists. Then the clap loop infinite was discovered.

[CP] Carl Clover Gameplay Discussion (Changelog in OP)
Niko replied to Akira-Shiro's topic in Carl Clover
Carl is definitely strong, but I don't see how a character with such obvious weaknesses can be true god tier -- i.e. better than characters like Kokonoe, Azrael, Litchi, and Rachel -- considering the characters who usually hold that top spot are there precisely because they don't have any big weaknesses. Until we see all the top players switching to Carl, resulting in nee-san mirrors for the majority of grand finals in tournaments (like we have always seen with all the past S tier characters) I'm with Rhistopher and will call these lists SALT. Will be interesting to see how many Carl players will make Top 8 at EVO for one, and how well they will do going forward. -
You're giving me ideas. Delicious ideas.
-
It's the other way around for me. I somehow obtained a fraudulent orange box, and people usually expect me to play better than I do!
-
Because it's not a strategy you would use on serious opponents or in a tournament setting, so you're essentially communicating "I'm not taking you seriously" to the person you're fighting. If it works, by all means, keep doing it -- you should play to win, and if they can't tech, that's their problem. But at the same time it should be obvious to anyone who isn't completely absorbed in their own personal bubble why using such antics could be considered disrespectful/trolling by the other party.

I believe you're thinking about the network color square by your name. That only ranks up or down from fights against people of the same color (and regardless of the game mode). -
The 1.1 patch for the EU version is finally live, as of now!
-
No news at all, I'm afraid. Is there even any social media outlet for Arc System Works Europe that we could contact to get an estimate? Anything's possible -- the patch might drop next week or we could be waiting for months (just look at how long it took them to release that GGXXAC+R patch outside of Japan...). For now I redownloaded and installed my JP version again, so I can actually play the game online.
