I didnt know you could whiff cancel into command normals. I knew you could into specials, but not command normals. interesting what? they could add characters without including them in the story or anything. anyway, i meant that it is obvious they will put characters in for any old reason. again, vice/mature. i doubt think ash is going away next game, even if they dont decide to make up an excuse like for vice/mature.

as in, athena's jumps are a ton more floaty, and it seems like ralf's jumps are smaller(like foxy in 2002um but not as extreme) i hope he either has a more interesting neutral than takuma, or simply has better normals than takuma i also hope braked dp isnt safe also i hope snk adds more dlc characters too. there's the whole shion, heidern etc thing... Is there any collection of "Fanmade" KOF13 characters anywhere? I remember seeing a bunch on some forum but i cant remember where...

I think I am going to pick up Ralf and generally run ralf/mai/shen woo. Does anyone have general advice for ralf(tips about approach or pressure or whatever) or just any comments about him that aren't immediately apparent about whatever moves? also am i high or are his jumps different now you are truly becoming an east coast player

the hugo play from the korean loketest was actually good really strong pressure with special cancelling into clap and then doing another high/low into another clap and then possibly dash->command grab scary stuff i hope that in the final build special cancelling from chains is still in. i will at least rent the game to try it despite gems being lol and capcom being capcom. some nice play with nina and others too iirc also i like how the korean footage is the first footage ive seen where people have done real pressure with chains combined with stagger and special cancels instead of just doing jab pressure like sf4 or constantly doing launcher on block

ground hatsu has head invuln from like frame 5 onward so it will chew through jumpins but it is unsafe on block not even air unblockable so be wary of them baiting it by blocking (keep in mind they cant block during their airdash proper, though, so you can make them eat it in such situations) and air hatsu is 5f(but obviously you have to consider jump startup) so that can be scary due to raw speed considering the hitbox.

i'm aware of that, but i can just do that with normal kyo i'm not saying he has bad pressure, just that i was expecting certain things that would give him pressure advantages over normal kyo and it did not turn out that way

i am underwhelmed by NESTS kyo in terms of pressure leapkicks aren't + unlike older versions, pretty bad on block actually, seems like a mediocre rekka mixup to me(gauntlet hades esque? just block or react to him landing from only doing one hit) red kicks arent overhead like i could have sworn some people said and are bad on block(unlike old versions?) his neutral is probably baller though i guess but i wont get to have any offline matches until january so its hard for me to judge that until then and of course he is easy to get damage with but seems fucked by range on some occasions

Goons was good. Was there for about 4 hours. Had some good KOF matches. I feel like I'm progressing. For saturday, the dreamcancel guys+brian+DG are confirmed., so that's at least 6 people. Hope to see frigid/edge/oso/transient/others saturday. Only aloha confirmed for friday.

You know, i think this is a good example of how KOF13 is actually very friendly to those with poor execution despite OHHH BUT MISSION MODE IS SO HARD So, for mai, you can do that obnoxious to do midscreen HD combo for about 480-550 damage if you end with level 1 super. Or, you can do something much easier(<starter> HD 5B 5D 41236HK (3) drive cancel into EX dive, link another 41236hk with a slight delay) for ~420 damage for 1 bar as well. Yes, you're down about 100 damage, but you still have half of hyperdrive, you've got them in the corner, you can still combo into neomax quite well if you have that meter and get over 600 damage, and you probably dont build as much meter for the enemy! And since you still have half of your hyperdrive, the enemy has to be extra cautious now or you'll easily set up a ryuenbu loop in the corner for no bars and get 400-500 damage. Execution is still an advantage, obviously, and for HD combos for many characters the difference between the best and something like this is more like 150-200 damage, but those characters also have more options for middle-difficulty HD combos than mai does.

hahaha holy fuck those gems are fucking boring except i guess for more meter gain/movement speed. way to fuck up, capcom. maybe if the shit gems did was exciting it would make all that garbage about retailer exclusive gems etc be worth it, but nope it is really a shame that characters like bob, hugo, poison, rolento, and julia, features like dat color edit, and that awesome tag cancel mechanic are going to be wasted on this oh well. Plenty of other stuff coming out, no need to waste time on this.
