Kegs'N'Barrels Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Hey guys, I am new to Guilty Gear. Got interested in it when I accidentally came across the game in a Cyber Cafe last week. Not the first time I played it(I think I played it before about a decade ago) Fell in love with the game instantly when I played it. So I downloaded it. So, since I am super new to all of this stuff, I want to ask you guys about the best Guilty Gear players who plays specific characters. Im most interested in knowing who is the best May player out there since she is the first character I ever used in the game.
saber Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 best May player is syo but he has little to no footage out there. Your next bet is efute, kazuki, kedako(one of my personal favs) and ruu. There are some others best Potemkin is FAB, best Zato is Ogawa, best Bedman is either Lox or Tsubu, best Ky is rozu(ain and rion also very good), best Sol is hard to say but roi,012,uki etc are great Best Faust is nage or gazou wtih OsakaB closeby. Then moving on the best Chipp is endou or sammito(imo) Best I-no is hasegawa or uzen, OSCA is also pretty good. Best Millia is woshige hands down( there are other great millia players, eki-chan for instance) best Slayer is Hase(again other great players out there), the best Venom was fino but he playing zato more often now so I would say isamu. Best Axl is yousuke and its not even close. There are lots of great Ram most visable of which are Gure, batako and karinchu. These are based on my opions but I think many will agree that these players are top tier for these character. Best is objective and an opion based on my thoughts and the fact that you can actually see them play more than a lot of other great players. Moving on there are also lots of great american players but Xrd just came out so hard to have great video of them.

Im most interested in knowing who is the best May player out there since she is the first character I ever used in the game. This list is for XRD December. So there wont be oldschool names like n-otoko here or inactive like Machaboo. This is also my opinion only, but i'm pretty sure 90% of the community will agree with me. Sol: Roi Ky: Ain Millia: Woshige/Nakamura Zato: Ogawa May: Kedako/Ruu Potemkin: FAB Chipp: Samitto Venom: Fino Axl: Shuuto/Yaxl Ino: Hasegawa Faust: Nage Slayer: Hase Bedman: Tsubu Ramlethal: Karinchu Console characters we dont really know yet. Sin: Elphelt: Koichi? Leo:
Kegs'N'Barrels Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Checked out some Kedako vids.. Damn.. I love the way he played.
Poultrygeist Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Bedman players to look out for: Tsubu, LOX, Mitsuru. Mostly Tsubu. Be warned that they play somewhat different styles so you may see conflicting tech.
Solid Gold Wall Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Sol: Roi i think mugen and uki are better players honestly, totally agree with the rest

Sin: Elphelt: Koichi? Leo: I don't think Roi can stand out as best Sol, maybe you think that because you've seen too many of his vids(he's a regular at Mikado, and maybe the best Sol here). Imo, Uki is the best Sol now, in both the terms of rank and playstyle. Just watch his match at Arc Revo and you'll see that. The only thing i think Roi do the best is the IAD combo confirm from 5H/2H, he's definitely a beast with that thing

I was in his 3v3 team with Karinchu last week at Mikado and the way he plays was on another level. He's very laid back and doesn't hit ANY buttons he doesn't need besides plinking certain moves. He was completely comfortable with the pace of the match and what was going on. I've only played the game for a week, so I was stomped, but he would just sit down, laugh, and make jokes with me while destroying the other team. It was very impressive to see.

I've only played the game for a week, so I was stomped, but he would just sit down, laugh, and make jokes with me while destroying the other team. It was very impressive to see. Of Course he is extremely impressive, he's one of the top player, definitely top5 or even top3 Sol in Japan(which means in the world) now. And these "He's very laid back and doesn't hit ANY buttons he doesn't need besides plinking certain moves. He was completely comfortable with the pace of the match and what was going on" is the thing i expect from every high level player. I've never been to Mikado or even Japan, but after watching many vids of them players(like the KaoTV series), i can see that's very true. About Uki, u don't see him often, or haven't seen him at all because he plays at Acho, and as i remember, he's never gone to Mikado to play. But you can try watching the 21on21 on Rody channel, or his matches at Arc Revo, and you'll understand what i'm trying to say
qwerty Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Yosuke as best Axl? I don't think he's that good... @Flick: You play at Mikado? Perhaps you've seen me then. I'm a blue Johnny player in +R, and I'm obviously foreign.
Magile Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Yosuke as best Axl? I don't think he's that good... Who would you suggest?

Cross Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Machaboo definitely was the most solid Sol. Has he quit the game for good?
Flick Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Machaboo definitely was the most solid Sol. Has he quit the game for good? Yeah but imo, he's a very solid and fundamental player, and he plays Sol(along with some other char) doesn't make him the best Sol specific player
king of heart Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Yeah but imo, he's a very solid and fundamental player, and he plays Sol(along with some other char) doesn't make him the best Sol specific player He does the most complicated stuff with Sol that Roi and Nob doesn't. Definitely Matchaboo is the best player followed by Uki and Mugen. It's kinda sad that non Sol players are better with Sol, even Karinchou and Haken are very good . The only Sol specialist that play Xrd is 012 and there aren't any current footage of him and i never met him in person.

Personally, I believe Machaboo's ability to hitconfirm definitely sets him apart from the other players, and his fundamental solidity is insane. Roi we all know has the Roi combo (IAD stuff) and as much as he is my favorite player, I don't see myself saying he better than Uki. Also, how is 012 the only sol specialist in Xrd? I have never seen Roi use a different character, same with Nob.
king of heart Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Specialists are people who come up with combos and techs. Roi gameplay is just a clean standard Sol gameplay with the easiest not to drop combos. Even in AC he do a 2 rep sidewinder loops into br . He is a very good player but I think there are always better players.
king of heart Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Probably real life stuff. He still as solid as iron if you saw the gods garden stream.
