MashThat5A Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Honestly, I think cat jump is a mediocre safe jump option. It's very easy to react to, and the forward momentum means you can't roll punish. So...yeah
UmaiCakes Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 This route is hilarious. If you do the drives as fast as possible, you can go a bit too fast and need a tiny delay, but if you push the delay too far it stops working around the wallstick. Like, once I get the "feel" for the timing and heights it's pretty much BnB difficulty and fairly consistent. Most common drops are: At j662.D because: missed the airdash or airdash too late, hit B too early and drive whiffs, opponent is too high and drive whiffs At j.236Bx5 > 6C: Untech timer goes nuts, they fall out, way too high because a delay was missed somewhere. Considering this is like the optimal way to do basically any air to ground confirm near the corner, I consider it BnB staple to have down. I've seen some routes that use stuff like 66 j.B > j.236Bx2 > j.2D~B and I tested them, turns out in almost any case it gets you less damage and makes the combo tighter. Getting j662D~B is fairly easy but the wallstick 6C is the problem, it seems the issue is with untech time. I did notice having more success landing it consistently when delaying 6A -> j.7236B as much as possible and the Bx5 as much as possible so the opponent ends up lower...maybe you hit them a frame earlier if they're lower? Or you land earlier You can also make stuff like corner 3C 2B 6A j.8236B(5) 6C work on more chars by doing those delays Noel seems to be the hardest character to do j.236B(5) 6C stuff on since her wallstick hurtbox is the "highest", so I guess its good to practice on her to get your 236Bs lower Also should note that 6D~B 3C ender doesn't work on Kokonoe Honestly, I think cat jump is a mediocre safe jump option. It's very easy to react to, and the forward momentum means you can't roll punish. So...yeah Agreed here, in fact cat jump off 3C ender doesn't hit meaty and you can get mashed out. Meaty 2B seems to be a decent option, catches rolls for better damage than 5B...not sure there is a way to meaty safejump off 3C and you'll just have to bait DPs

So...yeah You can punish rolls super easily lol. Cat jump > air back dash and insert air normal here. That'll usually make them think twice about rolling.
MashThat5A Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 You need to commit to the backdash to punish rolls like that. Yes, you "can" punish it, but hard reading for oki usually means your oki is bad, especially when you can just do air hit 3c -> 5B
ral92 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I didn't see this posted anywhere but here's a cool compilation of Tao combos! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVGKTcUPb9s
Deer Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I don't know if I'm necroing this thread or if this is ok, but since BBCPEX just dropped in NA, I'll go ahead and ask it anyways. For this combo: (2B) > 5B > 3C > 2B > 6A > 6C > 236[C]C > j.236Bx5 > 6C > 6D~B > 3C [3053/22] I am having a lot of trouble hitting the 6C after the j.236Bx5, it seems to go under everyone that I try it on. Is it an issue with how fast the j236 is coming out? I tried tiger kneeing it but it super jumps and drops when I do. Thanks in advance!

So for this to work, you need to jump back then input the move, so instead of just doing 6a > 6c > 236[c]c > j.236b, you do 7 first. So just 6a > 6c > 236[c]c > 7j.236b. Keep in mind you might have to delay it for some characters.
Deer Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Ah that makes sense, I was jumping forwards before. I need to work on my stick notation (misread 7 as jump forwards). Thanks for the help!
RinHara5aki Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I have a question.. Does anyone seem to understand the cat 3 loop? I'm surprised there's zero discussion about this.. Her general combos (besides her charge combos, ugh) have been pretty easy to pick up but I can't figure out this proration/same attack combo penalty issue with this loop, it resets people out of her super?? Wtf?? It won't let me finish the combo, I see JP matches and they end it fine.. Do I jump install a move or something I don't get it... Here's a quick example.. http://youtu.be/oSLSqsYY10E If anyone knows please share T^T
