Heroic_Legacy Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I did burst to 720 twice yesterday. Felt so good. As much as I hate this matchup it feels so good knowing you can stomp that Tsubame into the ground and chuck Litchi into the corner staffless, with 50% missing or already dead.
A.X.I.S. Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 get that stick away from her! stave off any pressure game or tager nonsense until that stick is gone, once she does a move that gets the stick off her then apply pressure and do all the damage you can, mike is right burst 720 is fucking god here, not only does she lose the staff she also gets a taste of her medicine too! corner pressure.
Heroic_Legacy Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Safe and Easy play: A good Litchi doesn't just give up her mantenbou. Pressure her into using TG (Bait with a voltic charge. DO NOT B SLEDGE, If they aren't Tsubame'ing, they might be mashing 5B or another poke that turns into a blockstring. In which case, enjoy the trip.). If they are the type to Itsuu out of danger, then B sledge, but make sure you test the waters first. Off the Wall Crazy here: Purposely getting hit makes Litchi run in and combo you, placing you two in very close proximity in the corner. If you are familiar with a Litchi corner oki game, you should know the holes to abuse here. Jabs, jump, 360 are your Paper Scissors and Rock. Hitting her in the middle of trying to get a reset on you switches momentum and you can put pressure here if you can't make it in on her from midscreen. Remember, you're Tager. Very high health. It takes a good 4 or 5 screw ups before you are in danger of dying. Sometimes getting hit and combo'd by her is a good thing... Especially if you can beat her oki game and 720 it somehow. Which, places her in the corner.
Heroic_Legacy Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 So I had to play this game over the weekend, against a damned fucking good Litchi who is super rage mode after I took his ranbat ranking and shoved it into the dirt. What do I do? He doesn't random backdash allowing me to reaction spark bolt him. He baits sledges with Itsuu (And punishes by not pushing a button until after sledge is out.) He baits bursts with 5C Itsuu now. Litchi still loses Air footsies vs Tager, so I'm good there. But he stops jumping and I'm forced to IB 2 AA's and eat a blockstring that doesn't end in 3C. =/
A.X.I.S. Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 when litchi goes into the itsuu stance i just walk toward her, anything she wants to do i can reaction sledge it. i don't burst unless i'm in the corner or cornering her. litchi's airs will eat you alive, mainly j.C she can jump in on tager for free because ducking will still make you eat air's anyways. IB her pokes, all of them, you can 360 through any of that shit, especially if he isn't holding a god damn stick, infact i like to jump IB her air pokes and j.2C/720 off of it. helps me a lot. my issue with litchi is getting in on her, i just don't know how to get in, when i am in i use unorthodox mix-up to keep her from jumping out. but if i had a decent method of getting in then i'm straight.
Heroic_Legacy Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 j.D by Tager outranges j.C. Holding up nullifies the IB 720 on air pokes. That weird fastfall poke annoys me too. Still won my matches yesterday, but the shit was annoying.
A.X.I.S. Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 whats the easiest way to bait the DP, the litchi's i fight won't DP and it makes doing any type of pressure problematic. j.D? really? i thought j.D would lose...i'm giving it a try.
ZhePrime Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 whats the easiest way to bait the DP, the litchi's i fight won't DP and it makes doing any type of pressure problematic. Can't speak for all Litchi, but most of the Litchi's I fight tend to DP when they notice I throw in non-tick 360's after 5A, 5B or 6A (for example). They start DP because I usually catch them with psychic colliders once they try to escape by jumping. Also stop short of any crappy Tager blockstrings people tend to DP. You can also pressure them into throwing out DP on wakeup. Some also DP when you jump in. The problem though is that once you start to punish them for using DP, they stop doing DP in those situations, which isn't really a bad thing.
