What are your best options to getting out of poison once your in it? It's kinda hard to figure out when to get a hit in once he has you on that. And once I'm unpoisoned should I be trying to rush him down or wait for him to do air teleport?

V13 should be able to kill Arakune before he even gets going, he can't really do much on the ground and moves like a balloon in the air. Take away his space and he dies. However if he does land a curse it is safe to say that Nu has a very high chance of death. Typically what will happen though is that Nu will rage on Arakune long enough and to build enough meter for a rapid assault (dead angle) so when arakune does get in you can just kick him away. The match will go back and fourth between two good players though.

I have trouble against Arakunes that keep throwing. They'll knock me into the air, you recover and right when you hit the ground they throw, often a red X throw so I can't get out of it. It hurts especially when they follow up the throw with a distortion.

You have to time your breaks, you cant just mash them out. I think this game gives you a 8 frame window to break normal throws and a 14 frame window to break the purple exclamation mark throw.

Like he said you can't spam the grab button or he will get a counter throw and then go straight into his DD. Personally I've played a decent amount of Arakunes' and my last problem is getting throwed. If you think he's going to throw you just wait for the exclamation mark. otherwise try to space yourself out and keep him out. If you get cursed wait till you see an opening and open a portal in his face and sword his ass. A.K.A hit the D button :D, If he's in your face your doing something wrong. That's the way i see it.

Then again that's just me :/

I haven't had too much trouble with Arakune so far. It seems like unless you do something incredibly risky you're going to be fine. The rounds seem to last a very long time for me though. This matchup seems to be a lot of backdashing and trying to stick him with swords when he's in the air. It just gets frustrating over time due to how erratically he moves. If he is on the ground warping around, and I know he can't warp to throw range, I look for him to vanish, wait a moment, and then start 5C spam. Usually gets me a free combo, or he'll have warped backwards at which point I'm safe anyways.

A strategy to beat Arakune with... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGVonTNqeyM

Whenever Arakune does his dash if you are going to be near him input 2C and then use v-13 juggle combo. Also most Arakune's like to fly around or use j.attacks so exploit this with v-13's counter 2C attack.

That made that matchup a lot clearer for me, thanks. Honestly I've been having ridiculous problems against Arakune because I feel like he's everywhere on the stage at once and I can't actually pin him, turns out I'm trying to use swords too much and 2C really does stop him cold.

A good way to defend against the dives? 2D

It's your friend during this matchup....atleast for me.

I have a friend who mains him and everytime he does that dragondive crap i 2D him and that shit goes on foreeeeeeeeeever so even if he D.J or super jumps it will still catch him. other than that 2C

Gah. Need some help with this matchup. Either the arakune is running away out of sword range while spewing out clouds until he teleports, or moving to the air and spamming j. D or j. 2D which even though I've hit him still appears to curse me.

Either the arakune is running away out of sword range while spewing out clouds until he teleports, or moving to the air and spamming j. D or j. 2D which even though I've hit him still appears to curse me.

I generally like to stay in the air a lot vs Arakune myself. Practice using j.D D 214D combos, since they stuff any move Arakune does if he comes at you.

If clouds and spore-thingy are blocking your air space, work with 2D a lot. Also, a missed Dragon head attack from Ara means he's going to pop up near you or around you. Work with timing 2B > 3C > 236D. He'll get caught every time if you have proper timing.

Arakune's teleports are pretty easy to react to as long as you aren't literally mashing D every second of the match. Work with aiming and poking with Ds. Don't follow up with a second D unless you are certain it'll hit/be blocked.

Outside all of this, be aware of grabs and Arakune's dead angle bee DD. I'm not 100% sure, but there are times that Nu's giant sword DD can beat Ara's bee DD.

Hm. I just air grabbed Arakune during one of his Dragon dives. I'm going into training to see if I can repeat this. I saved the replay, but I have no way of uploading it :vbang: *edit*I can't recreate the scenario, but it was a j2B from a pretty high distance and I was just to the side of him. Maybe he wiffed and I caught him on the way down. Shrug. If anyone else wants to attempt to try this, go for it.
