I figured this would be the best place to ask about this. Hopefully someone here is familiar with the Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus story mode for Ky-Kiske.

I've been following the Story FAQ to get both ending paths, and I managed to get them without issues. On path 1 you fight Sol at the end, and on path 2 you fight ABA.

Now, the confusion arises in this old youtube video for the PS2 Japanese version:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqx410ThfMA

As you can see, the person there got a 3rd ending after fighting Justice. Justice is actually someone you fight in path 2 instead of ABA if you don't meet the requirements, BUT, after defeating Justice you are just taken to Sol (Path 1) and get ending from that path.

I asked the person if maybe the video was editted and he said it wasn't.

I've tried doing exactly what that person did in the video, killing everyone with the same moves, with roughly the same time left, making the same story choices, and I still don't get the results he received.

So, does anyone know how to get that ending or is this something that's only avaliable in the Japanese version?

There's 3 ways to get alternate routes:

1. Time Up
2. Instant Kill (or if you IK'd them already, defeating them normally, especially hard enemies)
3. Doing the above but making different choices.

Instant Kills will typically "bait" extra Gold Character bosses, but keep in mind that unlocking other story routes is typically the pre-requirement (in other words, clear all the other character's main and secondary stories first).

For example, if you fight as Axl against I-No and IK her, she gives you a different response than if you defeated her normally (this tends to happen a lot against harder-than-normal fights, as these kinds of battles ignore game difficulty for the most part and give certain enemies Gold-like properties (but not always as Gold characters).

For Ky's case, you started off by fighting Faust, then making a choice and choosing to stay and fight Gold Robo-Ky.  Depending on how well you did, or if you IK'd Robo-Ky will determine what boss you fight later.

Another example is Sol's alternate route... if you unlocked it by playing other story routes, you can bait Slayer in to fighting you in his Gold form.

Oh yeah taking extra routes nets you Classic GGXX stages I believe.

Thanks, but I am aware of all that. The person in that video is getting the ending after Justice, but no FAQ shows that info and all other youtube videos always have either Sol or ABA as the last boss.

When I fight Justice (doing exactly what the guy did on the video), I just get taken to Sol instead of getting an ending.

You mention that Ky fights a Gold Robo Ky, but I actually never encountered the gold version (just regular one). However, I see that the FAQ has a note to defeat the boss with more/less than half of your energy. I haven't tried that yet. Hopefully that will trigger that route.

*edit*

Tried it by feating Robo-Ky (the second one) with having less than half of my energy, and I still fought Sol after Justice.

Besides, the guy in the video didn't take that path anyways, so he never fought the second Robo-Ky.

Like I said, make sure you cleared all the other main routes beforehand (like both of Dizzy's routes), as some routes might be locking you out of these.

I'll do some investigating of my own in the meantime.

IK'ing the Gold Robo Ky or Defeating it Normally might produce different results too.

Tried both and still the same results.

That could be a reason. I have not cleared everyone's path yet. I've been trying so hard to reach that "secret" Ky path that I've ignored everyone else's.

Okay I see what he did:

---He chooses to take Faust's Escape Route and face Zappa, then he chooses the top option when talking to Jam, which brings him back to the main route, but gets his 2nd Ending because he didn't take on most of his challenges directly.

To get Ky's good ending you need to clear Sol's and Dizzy's routes and I think Testament's as well.  And with every option you have to basically say "I'll stay and fight".

I've done exactly that and nothing happened. And he actually picks the bottom option when talking to Jam. But regardless which one you pick, you are always brought back to the main route.

I have Sol, Ky and Dizzy completed. I'll complete Testament and see what happens.

Well if none of that works, you might want to try doing Johnny's routes too just in case.

Or heck, just do Zappa's routes and I-No's or anyone elses, lol

I guess I'll complete everyone's path first then, and then I'll come back to this. I've tried a lot more variations and I still get the same result.

Okay I just did a few things: and even on a naked run (fresh save) here's what I did to get Ky's Ending 1.

---Clear Johnny's Ending 1 as pre-requisite.

---Beat the snot out of Robo-Ky in the first fight, no low health situation...  when Faust asks you to escape, take the route and fight Zappa.

---Fight Zappa up until you fight Jam, then take the second option.

---Fight Dizzy and IK her.

---You will fight Justice afterwards, then Sol, and then get the good ending.

But that's not the ending path I'm talking about :P

I already got that ending and the path 2 ending when you fight ABA.

The one on the video I posted is the one I just can't get (where Justice is the last boss). And the dude in the video isn't even doing anything special either, so I don't know if maybe that's something that only happens in the Japanese version?

If you notice, he already has both endings for Ky unlocked, so he probably has access to both routes now.

As for how he ended up not fighting Sol... it might be because he didn't do both of Sol's routes for some reason. (Like I said, I didn't even Clear Sol's path, I just cleared Johnny's Route 1).

Main thing being: Ending 1 involves fighting Justice at some point, then later fighting Sol.

Ending 2 might involve fighting Justice, but if you get the bad ending you won't fight Sol at all.

Edit: Just checked...

If you "Escape" when Faust says to, then ignore Jam, defeat Dizzy Normally (instead of IK'ing her) then choose to stay and Fight (when talking to Johnny) you fight Justice, you'll still get a Bad Ending.

I guess I could try a clean save and see if that works.

Yes, on path 2 I fight Justice, but instead of getting an ending like on the video and like the FAQ aludes to, I just get taken to Sol on path 1.

I finish everyone's paths first and try again. If that doesn't work, then I'll try a clean save.

Yes!!!!! At last.

I really hate it when it's the last thing you try that works!

I noticed that on the guy's video, he didn't have any of Sol's paths done, and with your additional sugestion, I deleted the save and did Ky's path 1 just in case. Then I did path 2, but instead of going to ABA, I went to Justice straight away and I got the alternative ending.

So I guess you couldn't have any of Sol's paths done then (and maybe others too?).

I found another story path no found in the FAQ too. It's for Anji-Mito.

In the story FAQ, it says Anji-Mito's first fighter is Justice, and then I-No.

But that's only if you beat Justice with a "low" time. In my case, I beat Justice with 75 seconds left, and instead of fighting I-No, I fought Potemkin -> Chipp -> I-No (Gold) -> Axl -> and then ends up with Eddie on the path 1 route and continues just like the FAQ says.

Well, you could keep trying new things now that you know what already works.  Maybe you'll fail, and the thing that worked wont be the last thing you tried?  :vbang:

One of these days we need to do an accurate Story Map (or script) of ACPlusR.

And I should also mention that the script's translation by Aksys isn't 100% accurate, but decent enough.

Well anyway, if you have plot questions you can always check out my blog in my Signature link.
