TheGabStandard Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Hey guys, after seeing top 8 at EVO I decided to give Guilty Gear a go and sign up to the forums. Now since this would be my first anime fighter I imagine there is a lot I need to learn/read to get familiar with how the game works (also might be asking a lot of noob questions to begin with). To begin with I want to ask apart from the sticky threads in this forum are there any other threads/sites I need to read? In addition is there a beginner friendly character in the game that I should learn, like Ryu in Street FIghter or is the usual mess around with the cast to find a character I like. Many thanks for your help.
GKHiryu Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) The most beginner friendly characters would be Ky, Leo and Sin. (Bear in mind that they still need a lot of work to get good with)Other than that read the dustloop wiki, do the tutorial, finish ALL missions ("Fighting XYZ" and the like, not the character trials). Other than that start by glancing over the characters and going to challenge mode (character trials - combo mode) with the ones that look appealing to you. Ask questions when you've done so but stuff still isn't clear. Edited August 11, 2015 by GKHiryu

TheGabStandard Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 Thanks for the offer but unfortunately I'm based in the UK so it would be a little tricky to join your group lol
ViolaSorel Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Sol and Ky are easier than most, but with a game like guilty gear you will most likely find that all the characters are completely different and cater to a way different playstyle compared to other games.

Every character does feel unique which is pretty good. After playing around with most of the cast I now have a fair idea on who I would like to main and secondaries.
ViolaSorel Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Good, that's always the first step, if you need any tips or questions don't hesitate to let me know.
