DoomieJ Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Yeah i must have shot it when he took his first hop. I was just suprised since it spanks rachels lightning rods that it was eaten up by it. Oh well.
AlmightyGnat Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 ... Carl's Gear super... This does not stop the bolt. Noel's 236236d super, however, does.
Osuna Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Litchi's punchy staff thing absorbs it too. I was pretty sure I'd been shooting Jin through his ex ice projectile, maybe I was hitting him before it came out.
bjholmes2 Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 If you have any questions regarding Tager, feel free to ask away.
LoneStar Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I just came up with 2 spark bolt related questions 1.what happens when two tagers fire spark bolt at the exact same time(or close to it)? 2.How Much damage does the spark bolt actually do?

Pervert_Q Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 sledge if regular hit or block. a,a,b,c,d, B sledge, a, a, B tager buster, stand B ( if they tech atomic collider, if not, c,d) if atomic collider, F+C, D, attempt reset if theyre dumb enough to tech. blah blah blah if counterhit, 2b, 1C, ac, 6+C, D. (if spark bolt charged, do 6+C spark bolt, 1C, flick atomic collider without holding it, buffer 720, most people generally tech that) DICOURAGING SOVIET DAMAGE ! if your opponents feeling smarmy and tries to smack you while your vacuuming them down for the 720, just back dash, then 720
Osuna Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Since you can mess up a throw tech, does that means you can throw someone before they are out of block/ stun if you sense they are trying to reversal or tech wrong out of a coming gap in the block string? Like, use their reversal input as a failed throw escape?
HZMN Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Bsledge to 360B or 720 if they block, most don't tech. Bsledge > 236A RC > atomic collider > walk a few steps forward > 6C > 5D. and Bsledge > 2B > 2C > Atomic Collider > walk > 6C > 5D those are my personal faves to use. The last 2, you can try to atomic Collider after 5D to bring them back, but how they come back really depends on the player.
Plasma Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Never actually got an answer to this before so I'll ask it here where it's easy to see. What's the limit on Sledge Hammer's super armor on projectiles, if any? Cause Jin's Ice Fang Distortion Drive goes through it and so does V.13's distortion drive with the huge sword and those are projectiles D:.
g0th1k4 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 sledge and charging both have no limit of what it can go through...but the invulnerability only lasts as long as the attack, so if it's an attack like Nu's super, you will take some, but then after ur attack has ended ull eat the rest
Osuna Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Both of the examples he used disprove the statement that there is no limit. According to the frame data sledge, both versions, can absorb up to 2400. Charge seems to not have a limit, and 6A, which I didn't know could block projectiles, can take up to 8000, which is weird.
MGO_Count Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 If it's 5A Sledge, I just end it with the continuation (236A) If it's 5B Sledge, I either use 360B or B+C throw. If they're close, I use the 360, if they're a bit of a distance I use B+C throw. B sledge > 360B > 2C > 41236D > 236236B or B sledge > B+C > 623C > 6 > 6C > D > 412036D > C > 6A > 2C > 623C (Tap) 720C (Got the "tap magnetize" then 720 trick from Mike Z's video when he was against Noel, Mike Z you awesome man!!)

MGO_Count Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 360B has the same range as B+C True, but this is what this thread is all about "What do you do out of sledge" And that's what I do. Sometimes a full range sledge can't reach his 360B afterwards. Unless they are magnetized.
Catastrophy Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I wonder why it even has a value. What projectile will do 8k damage during the short duration of a 6A?
Catastrophy Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 B sledge > B+C > 623C > 6 > 6C > D > 412036D > C > 6A > 2C > 623C (Tap) 720C (Got the "tap magnetize" then 720 trick from Mike Z's video when he was against Noel, Mike Z you awesome man!!) Can you elaborate on this trick? Tap what exactly?
MGO_Count Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Can you elaborate on this trick? Tap what exactly? You give your enemy a bit of a airtime. Then you just tap 623C so they would just land on the ground (instead of getting vaccumed to the throw thing). So you can guarantee your 720. Unless they throw escape it.
Pervert_Q Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 taping AC does not give you a "free 720." Your opponent can simply poke you on their way down and go into a combo. You have to watch whats going on. If you try to pull them in and they dont poke you, well you got yourself a 720. If they do try, your best bet is to block < reversal 720> depending on what poke they used, or back dash their air to ground attempt and 720.

Yeah that's true, But most people online doesn't know that you can poke out. But thnx for the info, I'll keep that in my mind. EDIT: wait but doesn't the 720 give you invinsibility frame on startup? I usually use the 720 before they land the ground. And sometimes the vaccum gives the enemy a bit of a weird slant that makes you unpokable until he's Tager's Head height. But by that time, I already executed his 720. Hmm I'm not really 100% sure, but most 100% of the people I've fought online has took the bait.
Pervert_Q Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 yea it has invincibility but if they poke you from above the attack is going to be in you by the time the invincibility is gone thus you get hit. If your a super G master you can not buffer the 720 off the AC and do it standing and go through said poke attempt
Osuna Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I wonder why it even has a value. What projectile will do 8k damage during the short duration of a 6A? Jin's astral heat? Does that even count? Do any astral heats count as projectiles?
Osuna Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I'm not sure how the frame data looks when considering the magnetism accelerated falling, with the 720's 5 invulnerability frames and the collider's 19 frames of recovery. I wonder what looks like. 5 frames is not a lot, and ideally you would want them on the ground during the super flash...I think. And I remember hearing that you couldn't do a totally unbuffered standing 720 in this game, did we find another way around that?
Pervert_Q Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 you can do it in a psuedo half ass way.I worded my last post not quite right. Buffer part of it during AC and wait and slowly finish the other half, optimally pressing u/f + C right when you see their attack is about to hit you.
Pervert_Q Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 as far as I know, you can do a 720 standing but its wonky and you can't do it 3s hugo style by cancelling your jump frames. I think mikez posted something on it.
