ConvoltedStyLe Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Ok me and my Rachel friend were playing a few matches and after awhile he tells me this matchup is very hard for Rachel, But i found it kinda even since we were going back and forth on wins so if this match up is in my favor, i would like to hear what makes it in our favor. so i can apply it to future matches. waiting for some feed back now.^^

individuals Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 without manten 6C, 2C, 6C, 2C, 6....you get the point. to the rachel who doesnt know this is a character specific (rachel and tager) it really fustrates them. if shes playing a zoning game with her rods and pumpkin, chillin in the back etc, try 5D, D. it doesnt do much damage, but you can rush in afterwards. if she blocks, you can go for an airgrab or j.B, j.C,jumpcancel j.B, j.C; or tsubame etc. also, watch her wind meter at all times! and that pumpkin! and dont get owned in the corner! YOU should be owning in the corner.

edizzl Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I would say that this matchup is in favor of Rachel as well. The Rachels I've played online haven't taken full advantage of her zoning skills, but I believe she could keep you away and run away for free in this matchup. Unfortunately I have yet to play a Rachel that could make me scared of her zoning game, online players tend to rely on the electric chair or they would randomly throw out the cannon thingy. 6B is definitely solid in this matchup though. I'll let LK explain the rest since I'm sure he has more experience.
Lord Knight Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 This match is all about not letting Rachel get all her entourage out. Rachel's neutral game against Litchi is neutered a bit because Litchi's pokes outrange Rachel's normals, period. Basically when you play this match, you should be thinking "Where is Rachel on the screen compared to me?" At long range, Rachel is going to try to set up her shenanigans. If she does pumpkin, be prepared to set staff and launch. Also, jumping before launch is helpful, so it's a bit harder to keep track of the staff. Try not to carelessly jump in - normally you could just bait anti-air with kara fastfall but thanks to wind it's not as applicable. If she does set pumpkin on the ground and wants to dash in, Itsuu GP > B. You'll autoguard the pumpkin, then make her block ItsuuB, making the pumpkin peace out. Midrange is where you want to be if you want to get in. Here you make Rachel scared to use 6A (that's kind of hard). She can't 6B you at all as long as you space properly. If she has frog out, this isn't a very fun place to be. Close range is fine, just be ready to bait electric chair. Rachel is bad at getting out of pressure in general. If you have 50 meter, she should be scared of you. If you see her place any sort of entourage out, Ryuuiisou that shit, it's freeeeeeeeeee.

Lord Knight Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Nah, not really. This isn't good for Rachel because she actually has to be point blank to be effective. Litchi can actually play a fullscreen/midscreen game against Rachel rather well. Also Litchi's meterless damage is going to be overall higher in this match thanks to Rachel's hitbox - Litchi is going to be averaging 3.5 - 4k (definately 4k off every counter hit) and Rachel only gets about 3K average unless she has meter or gets 6B CH (which honestly should never happen).
