That's if Epyon throws out a RANDOM super... If you get knocked down, that's a free 200 bar for Epyon and for you. But you are taking the damage.

Sure, but if we're talking about comboing into the super, Tallgeese and Wing and Wing Zero have similarly ridiculous ranged supers: they do somewhat less damage but are much faster and infinitely harder to interrupt. If anyone's super is noticeably cheaper than the rest, it's probably Sandrock's.

All supers come out at the same speed and there is a very noticeable flash before a super begins. What's very damaging is Wing pulling off a super reversal. All supers in this game are invincible during startup. Wing CPU Sandrock CPU Heavyarms CPU (and not so much but Deathsctyhe CPU as well) are annoying to fight because of their super reversals. Does incredible damage (I'm looking at you, Wing) and you've got unbeatable computer execution in it. Against Wing you can basically kiss half your life goodbye when you eat his super in the face. And that's the thing with Epyon's super. It doesn't need to be comboed into. It also does incredible chip damage. Hell, it does enough chip damage to put you at an advantage. All you have to do is catch them in the air with it when they're trying to approach. Two verniers wasted and they can't do anything about it anymore other than block and eat chip damage. Or put them in a corner (yeah, Epyon is good for that) and then back off about 1/2 screen and super them on wakeup. If you time it right it'll catch them in vernier and they eat chip, or they can sit on the ground and eat chips as well. Even better if they don't block. Or even do it when they're on the ground to restore energy, then do it again on their wake-up so they're forced to take more chip damage. Sandrock and WingZERO have arguably the two worst supers. You can vernier out of ZERO's in the middle of it. Basically ending with a free combo on him. Same with Rock's if you're fast enough to get out. Also, for having two beam rifles, ZERO's super is often one of the least damaging. Even when compared to Vayeate's or Tallgeese's. There seems to be a certain distance that the opponent has to be in for it to reach optimum damage, if you're not that exact distance away it'll barely scratch away 1/5 of your life in most cases.

If it's reversals that are your issue, dunno why you're specifying CPUs. It's not like humans can't do 'em either; reversals are pretty easy in Endless Duel. But they're as easy to block as they are to pull off. Epyon's super makes the opponent recover WAY too much energy on block. The chip damage doesn't begin to compensate for that fact. About the only advantage of Epyon's super over most is its OTG potential, which is an argument I can see made for it but which isn't sufficient to make it particularly cheap. You're arguing that it can be used even on an opponent who isn't knocked down, without comboing into it, and that's just not right because you're basically giving your opponent a full super meter when you do that. And if your opponent already _has_ a full super meter and you just pull Epyon's super out while they can block, then they can also simply use their own super on you because Epyon sits there like a noob for ages during his super. After all, you can do a super during the block stun of Epyon's super. In particular, Deathscythe LOVES when Epyon uses his super, since Deathscythe can just use his own super with its massive invincibility window to knock Epyon out of the air; Epyon is perfectly positioned to eat the whole thing. Zero's takes out half of a health bar quite reliably at mid-range, so I dunno what you're saying about its damage. There's no reason to use a beam super at close range, and at long range if your opponent doesn't block it he's doing it wrong, so it should only ever be used at mid-range, and its damage is consistent at mid-range. Sandrock's is bad, though, ignore me; I meant HeavyArms'. They're both ranged specialists so I mix 'em up a lot, not being a Gundam fan. HeavyArms' super covers far too much of the screen vertically and doesn't return much energy on block. It's quite irritating.

Bleh. I had a huge post written out to explain why you're incorrect but I figure it'll be easier and more fun this way.

Theorizing is boring and pointless.

Let's take this to the game itself. Nothing better than empirical data.

You might usually find me on zbattle.net as "Hue." Don't let yourself be fooled by smurfs though. It has happened before where someone has pretended to be me. If Hue is taken I will go with

-Hue2

-Optimus

-hamon

Other than that, just add me to MSN. Whenever I'm on MSN it means I can usually go for a round or two of Gundam Wing.

I'm really wanting to see your 1/2 life damage super from ZERO and I'll use Epyon's supers against you so you see you can't just counter every one with your own super and you'll get a nice bag of chips to chew on. Though from what you said you'll pick Epyon as well and super me back. Oh well. And you'll hopefully see that Scythe's supposedly "massive" invincibility window with his super is exactly the same as every other suit's super invincible frames. >_>

*sigh* Guess I gotta emulate Windows for ZSNES. Mac user here, and SNES9x and ZSNES aren't compatible for online play as far as I know. Should be okay I hope, just a bit laggy. I'll be free Thursday night if ya wanna play then. EDIT: Oh hey there's ZSNES for Mac now. Nevermind then. DOUBLE EDIT: No Zbattle for Mac, though, so if that's what you're using, bleh. It'll be laggy then.

You won't need zbattle to play online. Just get onto MSN with me. xD zbattle just gives ZSNES players a lounge area which makes connecting to each other more easily. So long as your port for ZSNES is open for UDP and we know each other's IP address connecting is a cinch. Does mac have MSN? >_>

lol. Dude was a little butthurt about that Deathscythe infinite huh?
Mercurius' is about as bad, and there are enough 0-death combos in the game that "infinite" doesn't mean too much.

Yeah, I responded a bit to what he said in the video.

Anyway, if you're worried about the DS infinite you should worry more about this Harms infinite. :(

^and trust me on this.

DS may have weak normals and thus is balanced by his infinite, I guess. Harms on the other hand as awesome normals with amazing oki that can easily lead to his throw loop. Also his damage is pretty good with just 1-2 hit stuff. It's easy to win when you're Heavyarms. >_>
