I've experimented with reaction time not too long ago. To see why I was having trouble teching green grabs. From my research it not really practical for a human to have reaction time above .2 seconds. Natural reaction time i mean. When I measured my natural reaction time it was like .23 seconds.

Just so you know a green grab = .221 seconds

There are ways you can improve it though.

The first is to look for a signal before the event. This is what I do currently. In the case of grabs there is usually a little pause right before the grab. If you add that signal + the grab signal then it gives enough time to react. Good players like pozer can actually see through this though and blow it up.

The second method which is what I'm currently trying out to do is to train your self to react to the signal faster than it would occur in the real environment. So in the case of grabs. Instead of reacting to at 13 frame grab. Try to react to a 6 frame grab. Reacting to a 6 frame grab is truly impossible but your body gets used to the quicker signal which means the slower signal will be easier to deal with.
