Naw dude, the throw FRC is money (although it's hella easy to miss).

And dunno... maybe Chibi got a second account?

Dizzy actually got 7 FRC. Hmm.

Here's a stupid question.

In training, on the enemy settings list, what does "PG" under Guard stand for? And what does it do?

It stands for "perfect guard" (I think?) but the weird thing is that only the dummy can perform it, as far as I remember. Either that, or the timing is almost humanly impossible. Pointless, really. They shoulda just put options for IB instead.

read the manual plz.

hey, yea, that's a great idea!

except... i don't have one, and i searched 30+ minutes on this site and couldn't find an answer which is why i'm asking said question in this topic called "POST YOUR LITTLE TRIVIAL GAMEPLAY QUESTIONS HERE".

i understand that i have a low post count, but i'm not a dumb ass, smart ass.

tribaL, it's called faultless defense. It decreases your tension but is another form of blocking. Except the opponent gets pushed back when you FD instead of normal blocking. Come to think of it, I have a question of my own. In GG is there chip damage, I don't think i've ever seen anyone get chip killed before...hm.

Lol, is everyone talking that avatar now? I like it but stealing it is pretty fucked up.

It's a glitched out Faultless Defense that only happens in training mode. Just pretend it's actually FD.

You should have a manual if you actually bought the game. If you don't, I don't really feel bad for you having no idea what you are doing. But anyway, go to gamefaqs and read the faq for Slash, it will fill you in on the basics. This is a thread for stupid little questions yes, but the question you are asking is on so basic of a level that they can be found on gamefaqs or in the manual. Read up, play the game for a while, get used to things, take it easy.

Also don't have hard feelings if I delete posts, I'm just trying to keep this thread somewhat clean.

How would the manual help? I have two manuals for the game (#R and Slash), and they're both in Japanese. Not much help to a southern barbarian like me.

does the Gamecombos ggxx site still work? the site there was awesome and helped me cover the basics........

How important is FD jump?

How hard/strict is the timing?

How do I know if I'm doing it right?

Posted

It's useful, but people overrate what it's good for. I usually only do it on accident when I'm trying to jump and FD very fast anyway. Situations like Eddie tick throwing you in the corner... you need to jump and block to avoid getting hit by both attacks.

Timing to get it at all is based on the startup of your jump. So faster characters it is harder for it to go off at all. Of course if you want to do it properly, the timing is 1F. You want to FD the frame after you initiate a jump. That will give everyone a 2F jump into block.

You know you did it right when you don't get smoke shooting off your back feet.

timing isn't THAT hard. and you'll know you've got it right when you're just jumping vertically straight up, and FD-ing... but make sure that you input it 7, FD, instead of 8, FD.

What does burst do and what is the command for it :china: I always burst randomly which is not good

....

any button and dust, it interrupts combos if you're in block/hit stun (but can be punished) or it'll give you 100% tension if it hits when not under attack

There are two kinds of bursts. There's a defensive burst that occurs when your character is in hit or block stun, or on the ground. When you perform this burst, your character will rise off the ground slightly (or if you're in the air, float a little higher) and then a blue halo/aura will appear around you. This is why it's known as a "blue burst." It's used either to escape pressure or break a combo you're caught in. It does this by blowing the opponent across the screen if it connects.

The second kind is offensive. If you're not in hit or block stun or on the ground when you burst, the aura is gold in color. If your opponent is hit, not only does it send him across the screen, but your tension bar fills to 100%.

To perform a burst, press any button and Dust at the same time. P+D, K+D, etc.

You can only perform a burst a couple times a match. The burst meter right below your health meter shows you how close you are to being able to burst. When the meter is pulsating and full, you can burst. When it is crossed out or when it isn't completely full, you can't burst.

Be careful not to burst at the wrong time, because it will leave you vulnerable while you recover.

Edit: Or, what Henaki said :-/
