http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=211528

i cant dustloop and zaibatsu wont let me edit the title of a thread once its made, however the setups are updated.

We still need a couple of tourney organizers, and a few setups please post up if you can help. Remember people the more setups/TO's we have the faster and more efficient tourney's run.

Who are the console characters? I will put it up on SRK

I think a more definitive name for this tournament series would be great. Any ideas?

God Rugal, Shin Akuma, Orochi Iori, Evil Ryu are console exclusive characters (well Rugal and Akuma were bosses but w/e)

I will be coming, and I will bring a PS3 and a PS2 with me.

Entry Fees:

$5 venue fee

$5 SF4 Teams (2v2 $10/Team)

$5 CvS2 Singles

$5 Guilty Gear Singles

$10 SF4 Singles

$10 Tekken 6 Singles

$3 TMNT:Tournament Fighters(Side Tourney)

SF4 Teams- 2:00pm

CvS2- 2:30pm

GG-2:30pm

HDRemix-3:00pm

Food Break- 4:30pm

Tekken 6 singles- 5:00pm

SF4 singles- 5:00pm

I'm wondering why HDR is scheduled, but is not in the pricing information? Did you mean TF?

Also, would it be ill-advised to run another side-tournament of my own? I wasn't able to put it out last time for casuals since I had to leave early, but I'd really like to see something for KoF XII. But if I have to wait until another time, that's perfectly fine.

Reasoning (tl;dr warning):

Since the online is beyond unacceptable and I can't seem to locate any tournaments for this game within the state (even the New England area...), the only chance for people to flesh out their competitive skills in this game would be at an event such as this. I really want to spur some support for this game, since I feel like some people merely took it at face value and abandoned it in favor for SFIV, BB, or really anything else due to the unfamiliarity most people have with the series, methinks. If I'm incorrect, please send me a formal letter of complaint to my personal secretary and I'll have her forward it to the proper authorities.

KOF2k2UM>>>KOFXII

Hey, I need a ride to and or from the tourney. Anybody have any space? I'll chip in for gas.

KOF2k2UM>>>KOFXII

Wasn't that only released in Japan...? I guess this gives me a good excuse to finally get a flip top. However, I think UM98 was released in America and I'm fairly confident that 98 in general has a lot of support (I mean, there are three rooms on GGPO specifically dedicated to this game). In any case, where there is support, I will cater.

Tangent:

XII seems to be a hit or a miss with the SNK crowd due to the game's incomplete nature, what with missing moves encompassing most of the cast and grapplers being toned down from their previous 1 frame throw glory. I wouldn't say XII is a game without flaws...it's far from it. [opinion]But if I had to choose which next-gen fighter was the best in terms of game play, depth, and overall balance as of now...it would be XII (I can't offer my opinion on Tekken just yet, but the combo system is hilarious).[/opinion]

Tom decided to add it last minute don't know if we'll have a setup for it thougth

Gonz we will because we are having only 2 set-ups for CvS2,GGAC,and HDR. I decided to add it because I respect damdai and he asked for it. If we have time you can run a kof tourney but it cannot conflict with the other tourneys that are listed on the first page. I will call DM and ask them how many TV's they have exactly and other questions as I think of them. I will let you know if anything changes.

I'll run it after everyone's all salty from either:

a) Eddie's unblockable setups.

b) A groove.

c) E. Honda's stored Oicho.

d) Zoob's TF prowess.

e) Being juggled to OTG combo'd into a wall FTL.

FFFFFFFFFF) Mashed SRK-FADC-Ultra'd during a blockstring.

So with that said, I would suggest 6:30pm or 7:00pm. What's DM's policy on bringing a TV of one's own into the venue? Also, must I inform them of my side-tournament beforehand, or do I just take matters into my own hands?

I will let you know about it but everything your suggesting is up in the air and until I give the ok nothing is happening. Whatever gonz says on this subject doesn't mean a thing. I will let you know what DM says about what you want.

Sounds good. Even if you decide not to run it, I must thank you for the consideration.

BTW are you gonna bring a setup?

It was the first thing I said :v:. PS3 and PS2.

I just wanted to let everyone know these will be the last tournaments @ DM. We will be closing down at the start of December. Everything will be going on sale and everything will have a price in the store right down to the chairs. So if you haven't attended a tournament here or thought you might miss this one i would reconsider and just take the time to check the place out and etc. Thanks for the fun times guys and i hope you all enjoyed your time here with us!

When were you going to tell me this info Gonz? I could have posted this in the thread a LONG time ago.

Mindgame it's ok for you to bring a set-up and have the tourney of your choice. I just talked to mike and he has extra tables and such if you need it.

It sux that DM is closing down sry to hear that.
