Commanderoftroy Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Yeah I checked the schedule sign me up for sure for BB singles I keep hearing good things about shadow and his tournaments
so moe kona Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I'm actually gonna withdraw myself from this. I'm not gonna have enough money when this rolls around. Shame too. I really wanted to be there.
blueNINE Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Hey ElvenShadow. It would help a lot with planning to know how much time we'll have to get to the venue on Saturday. Of course I don't expect you to know exactly when everything will start at this point, but if possible, could you give a time before which registration will be open for sure? It'd be much appreciated.
ElvenShadow Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 yea sorry I havnt posted the schedule yet. It should be posted within the next few days for each specific games start time and registration time. I need to talk with the guy who owns the venue in person and its difficult to do from here in Japan. Once I get that ironed out I will post a schedule ASAP. Sorry for the wait.

No worries, man!
Ecchi Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Man, I'm shit at all of those games but I still want to go to this. If you're not registering for a game can you just show up?
HeartNana Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 As for venue fee if you're not entering and spectating only, that's elvenshadow's call. But you should really come support the scene and play in at least one game imo. Majors as good as this one don't come around that often, especially for Chicago, so you should make yourself a part of it.
AKA Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Looks like I'll be rolling in, but I was hoping someone could help house a few STL-ites? A lot of the people I'm coming with are depending on free housing (broke motherfuckers), so if anyone is feeling charitable just hit me a PM or something. If not, that's cool and I'm sure I can work something out with everyone coming with me. See you on the 2nd!
ElvenShadow Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 Ecchi, I would really encourage you to try to enter at least something to support the scene out. Aaron, good shit dude! Ill make sure you have a place to stay.
AKA Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Mike, you're a lifesaver man! Thanks a ton on all counts! Merry Christmas everyone!
MacArthur Blunts Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Merry Christmas!!!! Aka hopin to have some crazy matches vs Millia! (Or eddie. whichever) n.n
ElvenShadow Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 ****THE LOCATION HAS CHANGED!!!**** WHERE: Wingate Inn hotel http://www.wingatehotels.com/Wingate/control/Booking/check_avail?variant=&id=12368&propBrandId=WG&force_nostay=false&bmInSession=true&tab=tab1 Wingate Inn Northbrook 600 Milwaukee Ave. Prospect Heights IL 60070 This is the same location as last year. Due to various reasons, it is in everyones interest to have the event here once again. I hope this change of location will not be too inconvenient to anyone. I just went and visited Modchipmans place personally for the first time and there just arnt enough tables and chairs and I have no good way of getting them. Its a nice venue but for this event I dont think it will work out well. Last years location worked out perfectly so I was able to book it again. Unfortunately this year the hotel is charging me more to rent out the room, but since we will have more players this year, the venue fees should still be able to cover the cost. If it doesnt, the difference will simply come out of my pocket. If you booked a room at the old hotel, simply cancel your reservation and book at the Windgate, they have tons of rooms open. And now, im sorry to have made everyone wait so long but here is the official schedule. I will be going in at 10 am to set things up. If you are bringing a TV and systems I really need you to try to come as early as you can so we can get them set up quickly. Registration will begin at 10:30 GG, SFIV, BB, and Melty Blood singles will begin at 12:00 noon! Dont be late! MvC2 will start at 2:00 3S and Melty teams will start as soon as Melty singles are over HDR and BB teams will start after BB singles are over SFIV teams 3 vs 3 will start after SFIV singles followed by the special random team tournament. If you show up late I will still allow you to register but if the tournament has already started and I cant fit you in the brackets you are going straight to losers. Be on time! I understand people are coming from far away but a 12 noon start time isnt unreasonable if you all want everything to finish on time. Do your best to get up early. If anyone needs to contact me personally I can be reached at 847 331 9799 any time. Once again, sorry for changing the venue 1 week before the event but it was necessary and shouldnt really affect most people much at all.
Jam-Kiske Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 This venue is like the same distance from my house as the other one so I should still be able to come once I gain my mom's permission.
Heroic_Legacy Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 =/ From a 5 minute drive to a half an hour... I'll pray there isn't another freak storm like today's.
Klaige Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Fair warning, holiday inn has a no cancellation policy if you book online. I am now fucked. God fucking damnit.
Commanderoftroy Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Hey elven are ya needing 360s as well im figuring bb will be on ps3 but i should be able to bring my xbox if ya need some more equipment bud.
MacArthur Blunts Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Fair warning, holiday inn has a no cancellation policy if you book online. I am now fucked. God fucking damnit. rage. that sucks.
Klaige Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 rage. that sucks. I will be there, i will just be staying 45 minutes away. Holiday inn can bite the fattest, juiciest, part of my ass.
ElvenShadow Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 Yea Travis im really sorry that it happened that way. I hope no one else got screwed over but theres no way we could have ran things at the other venue after I got a look at it for the first time I knew we needed to go back to the old one. Yes, anyone who can bring any systems or TVs please do so. We can use them for sure! CommanderofTroy, yes BB is on PS3 but we need 360s for SFIV
Commanderoftroy Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Alright no problem then bud if im there early enough ill do what i can to help ya set things up for the tournament.
ElvenShadow Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 were thinking about running all team tournaments first before singles. What does everyone think of this idea? Regardless, tournaments will be stating at noon
Commanderoftroy Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 either way is fine to me but depending on weather and the new location you may stand the chance of getting less teams together with late arrivals. Are we gonna have to have to come to registration with a team or randomly put teams together as well for those who don't have one? I have seen that done before but it may be pretty time consuming.
ElvenShadow Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 if you have a team already then sign up together, if you dont have a team you can sign up alone and I will make teams with all the leftover players
