ArtAttack Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Hello fellow Crossers, Taggers, and Battlers! This question crossed my mind a little while ago when I was introducing my friend to BBTag (his background being from FighterZ) and he asked who the high damage characters are. Made me stop and consider: How much damage is "high damage?" In BBTag you have so many resources to play with at any given moment, and pretty much anyone can get some nasty numbers off those resources (cross combo with 2 meter stocked can feel like a death sentence), but many characters make a lot more happen. Big boys like Susan and Azrael get some disgusting damage off even basic conversions, that's a given, but where's a good place to draw the line? The aforementioned Susan can hit 7k damage pretty easily from a 5A starter without resources, which I'd consider a great yardstick for the top end of damage. Characters like Adachi, Blitztank (in the corner), Carmine, or really any character with a strong loop can reach this threshold, and I'd definitely consider them High Damage™. But where would I put someone like Ragna? Ragna has good damage, but I feel like most of it is contained in his supers and cross-combo Hell's Fang loops. If you're caught with no meter in the tank and no cross gauge, you're only getting about 6.3k off of a good starter (thanks to Belial Edge scaling). 6.3k is still good in my books, but is it High Damage™? Does he become High Damage™ with resources? If so, how many resources should we consider when deciding High Damage™? What do you all think? If you were to introduce the game to a new player who wanted to play a "high damage" character, who would you recommend for them? (And to those wondering who my friend ended up playing, he settled on Ragna and Tank)
mAc Chaos Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago They could just all be high damage. There are games where every character can pretty much one touch you. But generally you want to look at how easy it is for them to dish it out. Can they do it off any random move? Does it take a lot of meter? Do they have a high damage ceiling?
