Personally I hate fighting AxL, cause the match tends to be drawn out and annoying, specially in AC. Stupid chains and gravity effect. I love fighting against other JO players when I can, cause mirrormatch is always great to play. Win or Lose, JO still wins. (plus seeing clashing tk.ensenga at the start of the match looks awesome)
RedBeard Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Axl is a hard match to play for Johnny, and I can almost assuredly say it's in Axl's favor in AC. My least favorite used to be Sol or Ky, because they are such rewarding scrubby characters in Slash. With JO I actually need to perform well and think, whereas if I play against or as someone like Sol in Slash it requires about as much talent as scratching my ass and makes matches boring. Haven't really developed a least favorite in AC. Generally whichever character is the most rewarding for the least amount of skill is my least favorite character to play against or as. As far as my favorite, for some reason I play really well against Baiken. I like playing against Testament because he is the easiest to nail huge combos on, in my experience.. Mirror matching JO I usually win so I like that too.

I find it more along the lines of aggravating. I like the Chipp matchup just because I enjoy seeing 70% of my opponent's health disappear with one combo.

I played it a hell of a lot, but I still hated the fact that I couldn't do any 1 hits or fancy setups on Sol and I had to be ultra careful pressuring him and whatnot. Just pure damage and poke game. Once he knocked me down once in Slash though I had to block until he was out of tension basically heh. I just hate how little effort Sol takes to play. I can't even play him myself because I lose interest really quickly even though people say I'm good with him.

Heck if all you life, you played only tekken, and then joined a tourny for GG and pick Sol solely on watching combos.............you can have a chance to win. When I kill Sol players, I tell them to "stop playing on easy difficulty, pick up Zappa"
JOFan Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Br. really force u to improve zoning and blocking especially in ac since now he has the retarded bear that takes every hits. used to like playing deadman eddie in slash.. it was so easy to one-hit and do shit to it. hated millia matchup.. dunno how to block wakeup oki. rushed down into dying ALL THE TIME makes one grieving JO player.

Loathed: Buri, Sol, Ky I hated Sol so much for a while that I learned how to ib/punish most anything he did. ib'ing his guard string and then catching him bandit revolver and airthrowing Sol into the corner, apply some mist... feels good. I got so good at the JO vs Sol match up, my friend pretty much quit him. But I still hate playing vs Sol.

Every other game it's been 5.5-4.5 at worst, and in AC maybe May has a 6-4 but it's too early to say....

She has this one combo that is unblockable unless you dash foward and know its coming. Only way I loose if I get dizzyed then somehow IK. (Hopefully a May player at Tenkigear will prove me wrong)

She's pretty consistently been kinda meh and awkward to play, and has never been above mid tier in any GG game EVAR, so she deserved some love. I've always had a hard time playing against May but I know it's moreso my lack of experience in the matchup(as well as lack of any May players to play against) than the match actually being difficult. In AC it's a different story though.

Liked it better in Slash though, since they were both just so explosive when it came to damage, so the match could swing wildly. It's still true, just seemingly less so. Well. Atleast Johnny doesn't do explosive damage.
