You're right, I guess a joke isn't serious and that the untrue isn't true. Who would have thought, you deserve a medal for your supreme truth and.

So whats the game plan for Tsubaki? A few pages ago Sledge was apparently really really good, and then now its just a matter of applying sledge after 360's and 720's. And does being hit by an unblockable give you enough time to 360?

The gameplan for tsubaki is to play tager the way you should always play tager minus some backdash and plus some meaty sledge. That requires a little familiarity with her blockstrings to IB them and not get hit by stupid overheads/unblockables. Like a lot of characters she also has a good anti air so don't over up an air CH to her. Then just win. Tager gets more damage in general and has higher hp And she can't stay out of your range forever. Just block her really unsafe launch self at you moves and she has to get in range to fight you.

Sledge was always bad it was just good while she was getting up because all of her reversals were projectiles. And if by getting hit by the unblockable you mean she start charging one then yes, you can 360A it with plenty of time to spare if you're in range.

Ayo its Tsubaki and this match up is in our favor so lets talk about steam rolling this silly excuse of a character.

Things you do: Watch what she do, don't throw slow pokes out, Magnetize her and liberally disrespect her.

Things you shouldn't do: Respect her bad pressure, get hit, and sleep

Pressure: A lot of her stuff can be IB 360'd with that said we are gonna talk about her special moves and more annoying normals.

The shield rush AKA charging star's, Block it and punish, if you IB it then just 5A her to stuff whatever she has, no reason to get punished for doing a 360 when she gets scared to jump.

The Dive Bomb: Block it, if you IB it then collect your 360B and enjoy your health lead.

Unblockable: don't block it...its an unblockable.

Seriously you can poke or 360 if you catch her doing it. (I get hit by it but laugh at tsubaki anyways.)

Bison slide (3C I believe): Its jump cancel's on block and you can 2A AA or 2C her, it can be pretty nasty mid screen when your trying to use 5C to space her.

5B: You can stuff it with 5A or 5C depending on range otherwise block it.

2C: You can use your elbow to make her whiff otherwise block it.

Notes: You have no real reason to backdash unless she's doing charging stars or Dive bomb which is pretty much a 360B punish anyways, she can use a projectile before the Dive bomb which is her asking you to sledge...don't do it.

If she decides to charge then VTC or walk. (they tend to rush you down when you VTC well at least my local Tsubaki runs in.)

Remember she can do damage with meter so don't sleep on her, you want to hurt her and get a health lead to make her come to you.

What about her DP? 6A her during pressure and sledge her wake up's, she can't do anything about it, and if she thinks she can DP after sledge then remember we can litchi mode her. (SledgexN.)

This match isn't bad at all, just don't throw out stuff mid screen...you know like we do against most the cast.

LOL!

Any Tsubaki player that does either of these thing should be deaded.

Unblockable: don't block it...its an unblockable.

Can't really blame us tbh. This is where we'll be getting our damage so it's really the only thing we can do. Measure distance though, you may not be able to get her with 360

Bison slide (3C I believe): Its jump cancel's on block and you can 2A AA or 2C her, it can be pretty nasty mid screen when your trying to use 5C to space her.

Again, Tsubaki should be deaded if she does this.

Not entirely significant, but she has 623D too plus a followup to try and stay safe from the wrath of Tager.

So what would a good Tsubaki be trying to do in this match up? From the tsubaki forums, all I could glean was that tsubaki can only do the following:

5B

5[D] (or 2[D] if spark bolt is charged)

That air projectile thingie

22[D]

5B

Because everything else dies to 360A or 236A.

That's it basically. There isn't much she can do to Tager in this matchup.

Maybe not the air projectile, (I'm guessing you're talking about the attack where she fires the ball? 236D) that's a waste of meter..

At least its reasonably safe and charge is cheap against Tager. What would you reckon is the best way tsubaki has to escape magnetism? (Just so we tagers know how to counter it).

Also, why do so many people fall for 22[D], tager's backdash has a load of invuln. And early releases of 22D can just be blocked.

Nah trust your stock can be so much more useful. It also depends on the distance. Tager shouldn't even have to sledge through it to avoid it, he should just 5a it. Better yet, he should just walk through it.

Usually most of the time you WILL get magnetised. If you want to avoid, it required dashing back alot, careful spacing with 5B. I try to bait spark bolth with jd, or use 22b which is riskier. (heck even 236/214b will work with timing) because I dont want to get hit by it even if its on block. If I do hit I try to retreat as far as possible though. 360s/720s are so easy for him like that.

I dont know why many people fall for it, I honestly do not know. That would depend on many circumstances:

-The Tager isn't alert enough

-The 5B setup

-The Tager didn't backdash

-The Tager doesn't know what to do

-The Tager isn't alert enough.

Never back dash tager when he has spark...ever.

The only character that can do that is tager himself.

The unblockable works because tager has slow pokes and we are more inclined to mash 360 or block.

Jump and charging usually beat's spark but a smart tager will just walk towards you from there.

Tsubaki's only tactic in this match is hit and run so kill when she goes on the offense.

FYI her 5B can stuff us pretty easily and it leads into some decent damage.

Can't you just B-Sledge the unblockable? I remember doing it once.

Correct me if I'm wrong though. Sorry, I don't play this enough to know for sure

Oh mabad I should've been more clear. I didn't mean back dash the spark bolt, I meant to say playing against Tager requires alot of backdashing.

I don't think so.
