Leo7 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Tao can no longer do CH 5C > 6C, but CH 2C > 6C works, so that will be a new common block string. Like CT Tao, where you could IB->360A in between 5C and 6C, you can also IB->360A in between 2C > 6C. Note though, if you mess this up, prepare to eat 6K damage.
Tofu Warrior Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 After Gadget Finger, 5C will beat Taokaka's back dash. It may also beat her attempt to drive cancel, but this is pretty situational. Don't forget that you can do Atomic Collider, 6C xx Atomic Collider, BGadget against Taokaka even when she's unmagnetized. Try not use 2C too liberally because if she baits one out and you whiff it, you're eating a 70% combo. Even still, a well timed CH 2C can really change the tide of battle.
Koopa_Klawz Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 she gets really annoying when she does that fly in and appear right next to you (sry i didn't memorize other character's input besides tagers i tried mashing 5a but for some reason it doesn't work.
mundus Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I found jump 2C work well vs an aggressive Taokaka, don't throw them out to frequently though, or you will get punished.
Augxst Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I found jump 2C work well vs an aggressive Taokaka, don't throw them out to frequently though, or you will get punished. jump 2C really doesnt work anymore on aggressive tao's, it was there bane in CT. I find myself backdashing and 360A a lot, but then they'll start getting smart and start jumping when they do there dancing edge pass through move, so again its just another guessing game.
Koopa_Klawz Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 okay i'm lost on this match up. up close she keeps flying around me and her jabs keep beating mine. if i need to explain more go ahead and tell me.
A.X.I.S. Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) I guess I can do a write up since I played some CS tao. Things you wanna do: Walk toward her and watch what she does. observe her habits, if she wants to come in then IB because 2A and 2C will probably get you hit, hell throwing out anything will get you hit, just be patient and IB because pressing buttons will get you hit. I'd like to note that you can 360A through j.C, not sure about j.B though, she will just happily fall into it. Things you don't wanna do: Jump, get hit, throwing out something with recovery. why? because 6A/2D/6C for jumps, drive in general for throwing shit out, and getting hit because it hurts, gives you a headache, and putting you in the corner. what you should do: punish her for something like her 6B which has a nice bit of recovery...you want to backdash that. IB 360, it works if your yomi is tight, collider not so much they have to be in your airspace and tao is way to fast for that. When you pressure her: Don't use 6A/5D/5C/2A/spark/anything fucking slow. she can low profile you with the duck walk and your fucked for throwing it out, instead take advantage of that and make her afraid to use it, 360 her or overhead but keep in mind overheads on tao is pretty much a gimmick so don't rely on it. What about spark? your not hitting a good tao with spark unless your using it to stuff a drive of a commited tao, in fact if you have spark tao won't wanna do anything until its gone or when your close. your gonna IB alot. TL:DR Watch what your doing your not spacing tao, she low profiles your shit, and spark is nearly useless, yomi helps a lot, rely on yomi. Edited November 12, 2010 by A.X.I.S.
OrionXElite Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 The key to any Tao matchup is to remember that EVERY Tao player has a pattern. The hard part is knowing their patterns. Also one thing to remember, Tao's command cancels (A,B,C and D) ALL take a jump away from Tao. She also can't cancel unless she has jumps left. So if I remember right, from the ground she gets 3 cancels and from a jump, she gets 2. Her forward and backward cancels don't count though. So pay attention to how many cancels she has used as after shes out, you'll have a much higher chance to retaliate. Another thing, if you IB her Drive and she C cancels(Thats her command jump cancel) Its a free air grab. I kill our local Tao player for it all the time. IB her 6A and you can 2A her as she will most likely jump which is a free combo. All in all, this is not as bad as everyone thinks. If you can block, Tao can't do a fucking thing.
