Alright biggest tips I can give you really are try to FD more vs. HOS if he has you in the corner so he can't rush you all day, it helps a lot. Also if you're doing BBU -> 2D 5K JC air combo, if they're too low to combo with j.K, use j.S and let it vacuum them up for 2 hits and then continue the combo. Helps a lot vs. HOS.

Also don't use regular pile bunker x_x

Good combos though when you got them.

Whoops, forgot about this thread. Thanks for comments. Nice combos Mac.

i kind of need to ask what type of mind set you have when you were fighting PO in general ?

cause right now i think i am playing to cautious in a way that it kind of make me loses my chances of winning against PO :V...

Er, I like being on the outside range of 5k (limit PO's options) and trying to react to what the PO player does. Not really running away or going in with hardcore offense. Then there's standard shit like (I'm sure you already know):

- 5p beats his j.h.

- IAD over slide head for ch j.h.

- Never k mappa.

- Backdash buster is tricky to learn how to punish @.@;

- etc.

combo starting at 1:11 -- how come you ended this with DHD?

2:07 (last hit) -- you had tension, so if you weren't sure about whether you could do the 5H, you could just BBU.

i don't know if it's a difference in playstyle between what I would do and what you do, but you don't really throw much at all, and you don't seem to backdash or FD jump when you're being pressured. Actually, it's like there's no fear of throw mix-up, for both sides. But I'm aware that it can go the other way, too -- i.e. you guys are solid enough that you've managed to minimize the risk from throwing each other. Any thoughts?

Wasn't sure if that combo would knockdown at the height of the j.D and since I had 100% tension I figured why not.

The problem is that I don't know what I should be FD jumping or backdashing away from (not enough Anji exp). I usually get destroyed for dashing away though. I suck at airthrows and people in MD mash 2p when I try regular throw mixups.

Appreciate the reply though :o

VS Anji - IB fujin and screw him according to what he does. CH j.H for jump up projectile, CH 2S for jump forward, 2H for low, dash through him for Rin IAD over butterfly BDC his crappy oki Walk forward IB throw his crappy crossup move. Or airthrow. I'll test a bunch of stuff today.

I don't know what slayer would do for a tick grab, 2P maybe? after your 2P if you think they'll mash on their 2P to beat your grab attempt, you could try maybe 2P 6P, 5K, or something else you can counterhit their 2P attempt with. Personally I tend not to mash 2P as much as the other players in the MD area so mixing up throws with lows is more effective on me at least. But me and VR can't block 6K on reaction yet so why bother with piddly throws? lol Anyway I got cables I needed to record directly from TV, I'll probably play you this weekend and we can get some good practice and put up more matches etc.

something I'm curious about, why did you use the other overdrive instead of dead on time so much?

against wakeup fujin you can do meaty 6K and even if he goes through it you can throw him before it can hit you (you could just block it too but this looks cool lol)

-dont do wake up super -dont stand still too much, move around more -do more pokes -do less supers for now -stop doing S Dandy, unless ur doing Okizeme or other mix ups -more other pokes other then 2D

Can someone give me constructive criticism?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kzrvle9YjUw

Also, all of me screwing combos and/or throwing random dusts is because I used an arcade stick in the match, and I have'nt touched mine for like a month.

Edit: Also don't mention me trying to use dandy step in the corner, no idea why I did that.

[keep in mind that I merely tinker w/ slayer]

All input troubles aside - you didn't seem to capitalize off many of the 5HS's that managed to connect... Even a simple PB follow-up would be better than nothing.

Keep up the good work.

I only watched a few of the vids, but I can offer you a few suggestions: -Less random BBU. I see you 2H->BBUing a lot while your opponent is blocking. Against better players, you will lose half your life for doing that. -Work on links more. I see you doing your 2K->2S->2D combo, except the 2D doesn't always connect. Make sure it does. -After a Crosswise Heel, you can 5HS->j.2K into a flipkick combo instead of just iad j.D. -Less standing around. I see you standing at fullscreen sometimes. Try to be in their face mixing it up. You had the Johnny scared shittless, throwing him like three times in a row. Once your opponent is afraid, unleash your mixup! Go for simple 6K, 2K, 2S mixup. If one hits, link it into a knockdown and repeat! -More anti-air. I saw a lot of anti-air opportunities slip past you. Learn to utilize 5P, 2S, and 6P to catch airborne fools into free 50% combos. Otherwise, I couldn't pinpoint many more faults. Seems like you know what you're doing overall, just keep working on it and you'll become a beast in no time :)

if you're standing at fullscreen, don't necessarily rushdown. sometimes, this is a good chance for you to build up tension for free. once you hit the 50% mark, you can make your opponent regret letting you twitch back and forth at fullscreen.

I've always found it disadvantageous to be at fullscreen as Slayer. Sure you can have the CH dot up your sleeve, but I mean characters like Axl can zone you with his pokes and Johnny can zone you with Mist Finers (to a lesser extent). Of course, I don't condone rushing down unless your opponent is already scared, as Slayer has poor ways to close distance. If your opponent is still on the offense, just block a lot and wait for AA and BBU opportunities.

less cross wise heel, is what i would like to suggest, but it seems the other players can't seem to be able to punish it so meh.....

yeah, you don't want to run away all the time... but sometimes, your opponent has tight defence, and you just have to cool off for a bit and not rush 'em.

with some characters, though, you're right, you definitely don't wanna let them get the full screen advantage.
