Osirun Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 Also if Blazblue Continuum Shift comes out before this tournament, will Blazblue remain CT or change to CS? It will switch to CS as long as the game is released a week ahead of the tournament. what day would you have AC? please make it $10, too. Since Matt wouldn't be able to make it Sunday, I think having AC on Saturday is the best bet. What does everyone think? I would make sure to have BB the same day if that is preferable. GGAC plz a main tourney? for $10. Also maybe do 2v2 or 3v3 if attendance is high enough? The entry fee can be made $10. If that's alright with everyone I can go ahead and change it. As a main tourney, though, I'm not so sure. It would need at least 25-30 entrants. Right now I'm not even sure if BB will get that when looking at recent showings around here. For now it's wait and see. Whichever game is going to draw more people will be the main tourney game. So if you want AC as the main, then get lots of people excited about it why no mapping for tekken? and u can easy special blazblue? No mapping for Tekken is a rule that is preferred by Sluch and Dr4go, the people who will be running the Tekken brackets at PowerUp 2010 and who've run many tournaments at AL and elsewhere for the Cincy and Kentucky scenes. No, you cannot easy special in BB. As the rules state: Turbo/rapid fire/programmed combos are illegal Easy specials are a kind of programmed combo, and as such are not allowed. Thanks for all the responses!
Kamui Moon Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 25-30 sounds like a distant longshot for HDR, too. believe me, we'll have a lot of gg players. tennessee's coming, jersey might be, and we can hype it up and bring in more. we'll make this shit major.

So if you want AC as the main, then get lots of people excited about it I am confident that we can hit 25 at least for this tournament, especially since people are talking about traveling for this. Obviously we'll wait to see what happens, and I don't want you to change the schedule for something that's not yet confirmed, just saying that I'm not worried. Edit: also brazbroo sucks and I won't be surprised if GG out-performs it UNLESS CS is out by then.
Osirun Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 That's a good point about HDR. It's hard to tell how many people will show for it, but it did really well at Season's Beatings this year. I think one of the best ways to see what the main tournaments will be is by seeing what kind of pre-registration patterns emerge. Once pre-reg is open on PowerUp then I'll be able to see much easier if GG should replace BB. And yes, CS could be a wild card if it's released by then. Too early to say for now what will happen. I shall go ahead and bump up AC's entry fee to $10, though.
Kamui Moon Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 when do you plan on opening up prereg? will we have to pay online?
Osirun Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 I've been thinking of opening up prereg at the beginning of February. You will not absolutely have to pay online, but for venue fee it could potentially be cheaper. If you intend on coming for one or two days, it will be $10 per day in person. Otherwise pay $20 online and we'll have a 3-day pass waiting for you on Friday. As for tournament sign-up, we will be accepting walk-ups until further notice. Those who prereg have priority, so if we have to cap the amount of people who can fit in the venue for certain games on a certain day we may not accept walk-ups. If we do, then there will be a time schedule for signing up for the games.
MacArthur Blunts Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 proposing... State v. Sates. 5v5 or just 3v3 if people don't show Hmm... ohio team... looks beasty.
Brent-quest Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I notice a lack of Guilty Gear... and teams BB/GG would be awesome. I should be able to make it.
Kamui Moon Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 proposing... State v. Sates. 5v5 or just 3v3 if people don't show Hmm... ohio team... looks beasty. fuck yeah ohio team! jersey? maryland? tennessee? let's see you guys get hype!
doragonkoroshi Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 You guys think we'll get 5 from enough states? That would be super hot. In the event that that doesn't happen though, regular SBO style 3v3 is always very much fun. I would even go for making the main GG tournament 3v3, but I think that usually brings less people. I love the format though.
Osirun Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 So are you guys recommending that I add a GG team tournament to the Friday team tourney lineup? It'd be easy enough to do since PS3s wouldn't be needed for it.
Kamui Moon Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 reading comprehension is awesome 4r5. will murland still be playing gg by this time? anyways, teams is always awesome, nathan. if we can fit it in on friday and have enough people for it, we'd love to be able to run it. and a merry christmas too guys.
4r5 Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Murdaland is all about the pre-SF4 games. What's funny, is that I'm the one that plays GG the most. SSF4 ain't going to replace GG and BBCS looks better but not good enough to kick out GGAC. For me anyways, shrug about everyone else. I ain't their mother. I dunno if I'm going or not, but if you add in a CvS2 side tournament, then Steve H will probably magically appear and he'll enter GG.
doragonkoroshi Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I ain't their mother. This is contrary to what I've been told.
Osirun Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 Big update to the OP. Added a lot to the rules section (most of which doesn't affect GG or BB). The rules are now very long and because I could not find code here on Dustloop to hide the rules with a click, I have linked to the official rules page at the beginning of the OP. GGAC has now been made a main game, and HDR has been moved to the side tourney area. Also, I'm curious if you all think having GGAC teams and BB teams on Friday is a good idea. The tentative schedule for the weekend has also been updated to more accurately reflect what will happen over the course of PU2010.

Circuitous Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Oughtta have a Bushido Blade 2 side tourney, for real.
Circuitous Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin everything everywhere for everyone.
doragonkoroshi Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 No, it's cool. This thread was made way early anyway. I have a feeling it will die and resurrect a few times before the tournament actually happens.
Circuitous Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 So is that a yes to Bushido Blade 2? I'll even bring all the gear.
GZ-Matthias Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 So is that a yes to Bushido Blade 2? I'll even bring all the gear. ... I can bring a second setup. LOL
