Panel_0 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 It also sucks because I dont have the money to spare T_T No job...Ugh...Hopefully I go and get a job at SVGL :3 Blazblue during breaks =w=
Dacidbro Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Just take a nearby cab and don't put a coin in, just do it over and over again watching to make sure you go exactly halfway. Start slow, get faster. It should be smooth, not jerky or forced.
OrionXElite Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Yeah that would be nice but I'm pretty sure in order to work there, you have to play EVERYTHING well there except for Jurassic Park of course...
Aginor Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I hear you only get $5 worth of credits if you work there or something every time you work? I should go ask one of my friends about it lol. But yea...I hear the boss, Jason, is hella chill. Jeff and Tao but I usually go way early when its empty and I notice Jeff and Tao there after like 4 or 5. Well....I also go to school and I work as well. =p Just this week is spring break and sometimes I have some stuff to do but after that I get bored and might as well try out new things. I try to go as much as possible but sometimes homework and projects call. I at least try to go every Wednesday if I can't go the other days.
Panel_0 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Oh hush >3< Then um...Okay you got me there =3= @Orion lol, probably. I know a good chunk of the people that work there so hopefully Im able to get my hands on a spot. Well...Kinda
Spirit Juice Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I think the most important thing people need to know when learning how to play on stick is that your movements are done with your fingers, not your wrist. I've seen people do weird stuff by moving their entire wrist/hand to do fireball or DP motions. It's just easier to do use your fingers. Or, if you're Tager, your gadget fingers! Bahahaha~
Whiteboywilly Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Or, if you're Tager, your gadget fingers! Bahahaha~ This actually made me hella laugh.

Bahahaha~ Iunno man, the wrist is pretty amazing as the groundwork for pretty much any input.. but yea, don't be a knockoff of "the douchebag hold" and only use one muscle for everything. Would be pretty counter intuitive. All the muscles can work together in unison for the common goal of destroying your opponents pixels
RinHara5aki Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 It also sucks because I dont have the money to spare T_T No job...Ugh...Hopefully I go and get a job at SVGL :3 Blazblue during breaks =w= I have like 50$ of spare credits to spare ... we can figure something out when I go down for the doubles. Are you going to the doubles too? I think the most important thing people need to know when learning how to play on stick is that your movements are done with your fingers, not your wrist. I've seen people do weird stuff by moving their entire wrist/hand to do fireball or DP motions. It's just easier to do use your fingers. Everyone has their own way I guess. I see Taoftw use the stick with his hand upside down between his middle and ring finger, that ain't normal. Everyone has their own way. Or, if you're Tager, your gadget fingers! Bahahaha~ I can already see coopa posing gadget finger IRL every time he does it in game Also guys.. i'm coming down for the doubles again, I need a place to stay for one night (The night of the tourney 4/10). Last time, Goryus was forgiving enough to take me in, but I highly doubt that will happen again with his schedule and work. I'm willing to pay for the night.
Panel_0 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I would but Ive got something planned on that day. Been planning it for a few months so Im going to have to miss out on it ^^;;
Spirit Juice Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Everyone has their own way I guess. I see Taoftw use the stick with his hand upside down between his middle and ring finger, that ain't normal. Everyone has their own way. Actually that's another way to hold a JP stick, although it's less common. It still focuses on moving the stick with your fingers rather than your wrist... for the most part. I think. Good news! I can make singles this month! My nephew's birthday party is on a Sunday instead of a Saturday.
Dacidbro Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 The wine glass hold is really popular. It looks weirder than it is, when you actually put your hand in that position, it's really comfortable.
RinHara5aki Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Good news! I can make singles this month! My nephew's birthday party is on a Sunday instead of a Saturday. Yay! You can make it t- wait, the singles? You're not making the doubles on the 10th? The wine glass hold is really popular. It looks weirder than it is, when you actually put your hand in that position, it's really comfortable. I tried it. I got carpel tunnel in a grand total of 23 seconds Btw are you coming to the doubles? I STILL GOTS YOU TEH PANDA EXPRESS I would but Ive got something planned on that day. Been planning it for a few months so Im going to have to miss out on it ^^;; Aww.. that sucks. Well, rain check! :3
Whiteboywilly Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Honestly though Rin. Singles are way better in my opinion. Way more hype lol. I think you should come to those instead of doubles if you could lol.

Coopa Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 DID SOMEONE SAY COOPA? BECAUSE I THINK SOMEONE SAID COOPA. Gadgeto finger!!!! I play using the no homo grip. Here's why it's called no homo. First, you put out both your hands like you're saying, "No homo!" Now, with your fingers spread, put your hand under the ball and make sure to insert the shaft between the ring ringer and your pinky. Second, grip the shaft vertically and place your thumb on top of the ball. Incidentally, this allows you to use mostly your wrist (good for 720 action!) and it's easier for circular motions. That's why, it's no coincidence that most grapplers use the NO HOMO GRIP! COME AND GIVE ME A HUG!
OrionXElite Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Damn today was a strange day...NO ONE showed up to SVGL for 4 1/2 hours. I had the cab to myself for the entire time...My hand was burning after I was done. But I got some serious Ragna practice in and I got extra salty at how much bullshit the Score Attack Tager and Unlimited Hakumen can dish out...and I only spent about $10 the whole time! Strange that no one showed up on a Friday night though.

Coopa Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Coopa's professional advice for tourney worries/nervousness: Take an LB moment. Go listen to girly songs or do something gay, then all your worries will go away! That said, no homo. Btw, just like how Thxyoutoo likes Taylor Swift, I'm going to start the fad on referencing girly songs in tournament conversation. For example: Meaties will now be called: I'm into you. Successful 720's will be met with a serenade of Queen's Can't Stop Me Now. Winning a tournament calls for IdolMaster videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nPpqRz9Xjc&feature=PlayList&p=B216B103F39D7E62&playnext_from=PL&index=1
RinHara5aki Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Edit : CHUN, can you bring your mic. PLEASE my mic is teh ghetto. "Oh god you're going with the REALLY ghetto setup huh..." -Spirit Juice, 3/13 Doubles Edit2 : btw 2GB or Aginor, if you still are even on the forums.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ORGJnD9Dho I'll be at the 2v2 as well. Oh ok good willing to commentate again? Honestly though Rin. Singles are way better in my opinion. Way more hype lol. I think you should come to those instead of doubles if you could lol. It's not that I DONT want to go to the singles, I can't. Every single singles I had something else planned, and every doubles I just happen to get off free. Just my luck Unless it's in JUNE, I would say probably not BALLZ
Aginor Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I'm here. Just I don't really post much anymore. I saw that vid. Responding to what was going on at the very beginning, it was 2gb calling WallJumpMan a noob. lols
Coopa Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I am now a fan of this troll called Dora. A very big fan. Edit: probably going to the 2vs2 tournament. If Scott and I end up on a team, I'm calling it in the bag. I just found out a new 720 setup from Galileo (well, not really new), and I've essentially, already done it in SF4. SO GET HYPE!
