Seriously though, the interest is still there, just the whole mother's day thing and people's plans pretty much ruined the recent one. If other people's thought's take a majority on canceling doubles and keeping singles, then it might just have to happen.

I would suggest we make June the season finale for our BBCS 2v2 teams n' singles at SVGL. July is EVO, so we're not going to host any tournaments. Also, I suggest we reset the standings after console release. Hopefully, in August, we'll combine NorCal INSTALL with the BBCS 2v2 teams/ranbats to make it one HUGE LAIKE XBOX tournament.

TaoFTW Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I vouch to keep the 2v2 and singles. Consistency is more important than flaking out on people b/c of a small turnout. In any case, Fanimoo is coming up faster than me completing my grad apps. @_@ Hope things will work out.

Chun Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I would like to keep the 2v2s. Besides being less serious and enjoyable due to the team camaraderie behind it, I'm using this event to encourage new players into the scene to learn without being intimidated.

Not every one will be so hype, but to keep the NorCal facing together on a regular basis is good, as well as what Chun said, newbies can have at it while having some fun with other's instead of being steamrolled, then set aside to watch higher ranked players go at it all day. Also, it looks like I will not be attending the singles... YET AGAIN. I have work scheduled 3 days in a row during that weekend, and I have no place to stay since Aginor has important finals (School > Games). BUT... hopefully people will come down the NEXT weekend, cuz that's the weekend of Fanime, and depending on my schedule, I'm SURE to stop by SVGL and get games going. And possibly maybe I dunno probably not gonna happen the JP crew might stop by SVGL. You never know. We'll see.
OrionXElite Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Honestly I think we need to start putting the signs back up for each gathering as I know on weekends, there are quite a few random players who show up to play a little and well apparently just hearing the stuff from "that random Tager guy" isn't concrete enough to convince newer people to go...Signs are tangible and examinable so it sets the stage and guidelines clearly for those curious about it. Also keep 2v2s, its a good chance for some practice and fun in a team sense. Since its not a serious ranbat, newbies won't be afraid to jump in and mess around a little. Also I think maybe adding some crazy rules to the mix of 2v2s would further increase the fun. Things like "pick teammates but random characters only" or "Random team round robin secondaries only" or for major shits and giggles "TAGER ONLY BEGINNER MODE!" 2v2s are for fun so it shouldn't always be taken seriously like the ranbats. We should mix shit up and make it a little more crazy for extra fun. I dunno I may be crazy but variety is the spice of life right? Why not make the 2v2's that little extra crazy???
