OrionXElite Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Hmm...when is everyone going to MGL? I don't have to be anywhere until 6 so I could come by around like 3 and chill for a few hours since the place I have to be is only about 10 minutes from MGL so it would be nearby. And honestly I don't know if the sticks are having issues. I went back later after getting something to eat and I was doing Score Attack with Ragna and I was getting Carnage Scissors to work 90% of the time compared to my usual 25%...Tager's AC was coming out just fine too. They definitely feel loose though so it would to change it anyway. EDIT: This is now a maybe me showing up at MGL for a little while. I should be able to go, but some unforseen problems came up which may render me unable to go for as long as expected. Even if I can't stay long, I'll certainly come visit and say hi to everyone and hopefully get at least one round in if everyone would be willing to let me cut in line... EDIT2: Scott that picture of Jin looks like a shitty drawing of Link from Wind Waker...
ErikKN Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I'm thinking about riding down to MGL this Sunday, and stickin around all day. I'm gonna bring my cam setup. Record casuals. Bleh, I'll miss spirit AND chun.. :/ I got LOTS of credits from the SVGL staff from a cam trade. I'll treat everone who comes to a free round! Be prepared to make at least 5 trips to the golf counter.
RinHara5aki Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I'm gonna be late guys I'm gonna come later, stay later.
RinHara5aki Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 James, it was a lot of fun ^w^ Just fighting other player's lets me think about my tactics, I never play real people on CS. I need to seriously stop being so... predictable. Like EVERY round you magnetized me and then followed up with a 4k+ magnetism combo... No one else showed up. That was kinda pathetic... there was an aspiring Tager player there that watched James kicked peoples asses and played me a lot.. but that was about it. I noticed that unless its a tourney, there is absolutely... no.. hype. XD..
Ginseng Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I live 5 minutes away and I can't justify myself going to MGL.
Dacidbro Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 MGL will always have a special place in my heart as "That place I learned how to use an arcade stick" and "That place I met The Doctor, Tasty, DP, and Pressure Time"
RinHara5aki Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I live 5 minutes away and I can't justify myself going to MGL. You didn't miss much .. just me and James sparring :/ Where do you live Dacid?
ZONG_one Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 He lives where you should all be, so I can play you all.
Spirit Juice Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I'll keep my four seasons, thank you very much.
OrionXElite Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Too bad other people didn't go. I had fun but I felt bad cause I had to leave early. I actually like MGL better than SVGL just in terms of space. I could actually sit comfortably at the cab at MGL but at SVGL, the damn thing is so close to the MvC2 cab that I have to crush my arm so it gets annoying. And Rin, I had a good time today. You should try and come down here more often and you'll get better in no time. I honestly saw improvement as you were playing over the course of those few hours. You're just too damn hard on yourself. You need to calm down and just focus on the fun aspects of the game. And if you want, I do have some quick advice that would help you overall against Tager and most likely against most characters.
Chun Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 You know, I suddenly realize I don't think I've ever played against Rin. But what I see is absolutely promising, and if you're taking it as hard as everyone says you are, be more confident! No one becomes Tao-にご overnight, no one's super overnight either. Likewise, I'll tell you my weaknesses to Tao as well when we play; it's how we improve in this scene, and how our tactics evolve. Everyone plays by the same lifebar, rules, and system; we all have an equal chance of killing each other, hahaha. ~Chun
Dacidbro Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Rin, depends. During school seasons, Fall, Winter and Spring sans Winter break for a month, I live in Socal 20 mins from Arcade Infinity, and during Summer, I live 1 minute from MGL. That's why, especially since it was always so dead or low-competition, MGL was so fantastic for learning stick. I spent like 6 hours daily there for a month, it was ridiculous.
RinHara5aki Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Yeah, I would appreciate some Tager advice, since a lot of people seem to have an affinity to use him... If I ever match up against Mike or Coopa I want some hands on tips. And yeah.. its just a game :P I need to play it like a game. Not like.. a job. Or something In CT, I never liked fighting good litchi's, and I dont think that'll change in CS. But if I wanna get better I'll have to. MGL is pretty dead.... but you live in LA? AND in Milpitas?! You have the entire BBCS west coast world in your hands And btw~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-LFRu1m4-0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-WaqS3vi_U
Coopa Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Yeah, I would appreciate some Tager advice, since a lot of people seem to have an affinity to use him... If I ever match up against Mike or Coopa I want some hands on tips. And yeah.. its just a game :P I need to play it like a game. Not like.. a job. Or something If you're serious, I can teach you. Wait, unless you mean you want advice on how to FIGHT tager. If it's the former, buy me a drink, and I won't care how long we take to get you good. Edit: Just re-read the post. You want advice against tager.
ZONG_one Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Tager advice: 1.) Never get hit by spark bolt. 2.) Never get hit by FCH 2C. The first one is easier to do.
Coopa Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Anyone down for some guilty gear accent core with a scrub later on tonight? I really, really, really, really want to play Baiken. She is sooooo cooooool. I want to do her ORA ORA ORAAAAA SUPER! Edit: I love Sharon, that hot ass, clutch mofo who plays Baiken.
qwerty Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Tager advice: 1.) Never get hit by spark bolt. 2.) Never get hit by FCH 2C. The first one is easier to do. the second one is easy when you have full screen pokes to punish autopilot ass niggas who downtech reversal when youre way out of range *COUGH*
PhaethonH Posted March 22, 2010 Author Posted March 22, 2010 I'll keep my four seasons, thank you very much. L.A. has four seasons, too: Sunny, Kinda Sunny, Extra Sunny, and On-Fire. All that rain is observational errors.
corallein Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 L.A. has four seasons, too: Sunny, Kinda Sunny, Extra Sunny, and On-Fire. All that rain is observational errors. I don't think "On-Fire" counts as a season. And I count 2 for LA: Hot and Miserably Hot.
ZONG_one Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Unless you look at the brisk 69 degree day going on outside your window at the moment..
RinHara5aki Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 L.A. has four seasons, too: Sunny, Kinda Sunny, Extra Sunny, and On-Fire. All that rain is observational errors. Don't forget the smog~ x-x
