oninokuma Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Hey guys, new to the forum, although I've been playing Guilty gear casually since X for the dreamcast, just got into it pretty hardcore, and I've chosen Johhny as my main. I've already looked through all the posts on this board, and what I'm asking for is just some general tricks of the trade. Things like going for the one hit enkasu instead of the two hit. Thanks for any help.
qwerty Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 i don't quite get what you mean here. are you asking when you should go for a one hit or if you should? in any case, one hit for knockdown, two hit for damage. ideally you should be getting your opponent into the corner and knocking them down with a one hit from a throw, then from there set up the unblockable loop (which will only work if you have a level 2 mist finer). against pixie characters, it's more advisable to go for damage over characters with beefy health bars (aba, potemkin, etc) because one damage combo against them will do anywhere from 60-80%. against pixies i actually knock them down one or twice then go for a damage combo to kill them.
zdravkelja Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Any tips for Enkasu? Especially from a throw... I tried all combos from the enkasu thread and I still can't do it I tried to vary the timing...
qwerty Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 well here's a nifty video tenstars made awhile ago for mid mist finer enkasus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RibOFVkGXtY as for throws, you generally follow the same principle as far as spacing goes, though you have a bit more room to work with (generally speaking). also, j.K j.S j.D *delay* ensenga works on almost the entire cast.
oninokuma Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 yeah, sorry bout the badly written first post, I was at work at the time, and trying to get it in before the boss came back, anyway, my general inquiry isn't that specific, more general advice about the character. Like certain moves to just avoid using, or which moves are the "bread and butter" moves. Things like that.
