Dacidbro Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Gonna kick these off the ground, no time to keep waiting Will update to look more professional later, when there's more info to throw around and I have time to waste with the cosmetics. Some things to note, if you play against a Hazama that knows how to IB 236236B none of your basic blockstrings are safe if he has meter. If he can do that, has 50meter and you see an IB, either jump cancel to block (Ideal) or cancel your move to guardpoint/daifunka (guardpoint is better, but risky, Daifunka should ONLY be on super flash buffer) If you successfully punish one of them, he will be very nervous about using his most powerful tool. Then you have him where you want him, especially since other than that, his defense is ass. Use true oki, use pressure. I haven't played this matchup enough, help
DaiAndOh Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I'm finding this to be a horrible matchup for me personally. I'm finding I need to be patient, and learn when I can/can't guardpoint (could just be because I'm not used to him like the other characters, and chains are a unique situation).
10stars Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I actually tend to 5a more than guard point against pressuring hazamas. He has very sexy mixup, but his ensenga type overhead from stance gets beaten out by 5a etc. Go by spacing if he's mixup happy. If you're too far away he's not going to use the low from stance, he isn't going to flash kick cause it will whiff - his best option to continue pressure is to ensenga / overhead - his safest option is to kamae cancel.

Fully agreed. 5A/5B shuts down most of his mixup in itself.
rei-Scarred Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Against Hazama players that try to pull themselves in on a blocked chain for a crossup (I've played two Hazama's so far and they both did this) use Ashura. It is the most fun use of Ashura I've found so far lol. It may require an IB, but I hardly ever miss an IB on a chain so I wouldn't know. Though I suppose if Ashura works you could just airthrow for 5K :\ My point being Hazama can't fly in on a blocked chain and be safe but people do it anyway. Punish it.
