As long as it's not pure insanity, I'm down for whatever type of tournament you guys come up with. If you guys want to do some straight up money tournaments, thats fine as well. As long as it gets a bunch of people together in the Dustloop community. I know there's plenty of you out there that would enjoy a whole day of Dustloop-esque tournaments ONLY. That opportunity doesn't present itself too often as far as I can tell. For the record, the only related arcade cab game I have is still GGXXSlash. I haven't been able to find a reasonably priced GGAC gd-rom yet. I did just get Killer Instinct 1 in though! Not sure how many of you guys play that but we could do the first tournament for it on the 24th if there's some interest. If there's any other arcade game you'd like to see that I don't have, let me know because I've been selling off some of my old pcbs to buy some more desirable stuff for the fighting game crowds. I just picked up Vampire Savior 1 recently. I remember talking to some guys about it last year at a GG/BB tourney. They were playing it on their laptop that night. Just another option.

For BB... could do a silly unlimited character tournament... but honestly I don't want to pay money for that DLC. Had the stupid idea for a tourney where your opponent gets to set all the buttons on the arcade stick to whatever he wants as long as he includes A B C D somewhere and anything goes for the rest.

Someone mentioned the blindfold idea for SFIV but we thought it would get stupidly loud to where you couldn't hear what to do anyway. The button switching could be interesting. Any ideas for AH and MB? Keep the ideas coming. I'll see how you guys respond and then choose the best ideas.

I don't think any of us around here went to FR, so that means we didn't get any GG tournaments for March, and going another month without it would suck. A year ago, it would have been too much to hope for a GG tournament every month. You've spoiled us Jesse. Thanks.

I guess we can just have them and see who shows up and want to play. Any other side tournies anyone would like to run? I'm working on getting GGAC for the arcade. I have a line on one right now. I'll post up as soon as I get it, IF I get it. I'll update the post on SRK in a bit and then you can edit this post KM. You can go ahead and change the title of the post to just have the Dustloop related games. Maybe some MB and AH in the title will catch some more views.

Arcade Legacy Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 What do you guys think about adding a GG 2v2? We've been doing random partner selection tournaments for a couple bucks lately and that seems to go over well. Levels the playing a field a bit and shakes things up.

My concern is that they may see it as riding in Eric's van for 2 hours to play video games, being at his mercy as to when they go home vs. just going down the street to play a new video game and maybe get cool AS swag. I guess this tournament will show where their loyalties lie. Also, is this up on SRK? Is Tiggy coming out for the AH fun? I should really put that game in again if I'm going to enter that like I want to. Are we still doing AH and Marty Blud? Also, lol at sticks. I'm like the only GG player south of the bus with a working PS2 stick. This is not good, my friends.
Arcade Legacy Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 It is up on SRK. We will do AH and MB as long as people come to play it. This is sort of a trial run to see if it's even worth running these games in the future. I'll try to get my hands on a good PS2 stick by then.
