I'm pretty sure you've all noticed just how much ass this match-up is :arg:

-Nirvana can block zoning

-Sandwich = gg, go make a sandwich

-Carl has **** Brio that stops your airdash shenanigans

-George is pretty much your only safe way to approach, and that is pretty sad.

On the good side, if we get Carl on the corner and prevent his Vivace bullshit we may have a chance. Maybe.

Oh man, I've done so much of this matchup. And yes, it is truly ass-tastic. He'll use Nirvana as a shield for him to approach, and she will stop all lobelias and pumpkins. If you want to try lobelias for zoning, I recommend the jump A ones, as the angle is good and so is the startup/recovery.

The most important thing for this match is positioning. Run around, plant some seeds, get some friends out. Be patient, be tactical. You do NOT want to get caught between the two. And if you do, well, time to practice your blocking. CA if you have it, really. Even worse though is being caught in the corner. You could end up spending the entire match in there. Keep a careful eye on the positions of everything on the stage.

Also, if you do get Carl away from Nirvana, don't be reckless when attacking him. He can do good damage on his own, and even summon her in the middle of his combo for some pain or sandwiching. For example, if you airdash or wind-airdash over Nirvana to an isolated Carl, he'll probably just 6A you on the way in for a good 3K or more damage, depending on where the doll is.

And yes, oddly, the frog is one of Rachel's best tools in this fight. He'll slide right through Nirvana, which stops Carl's human-shield technique. And when George is going off, Carl can't move or use Nirvana, so that's your chance to move in to try to get some damage, and to drag him away from her.

Oh yeah, and trying to shut Nirvana down is fairly useless. It takes a lot of effort, she recovers health fast, and he can still fight well without her. However, if you feel like smacking her around now and then, I don't blame you.

2C all cross ups.

Take any BBL > Level 3's you can get. Carl has shit health, so your damage output being low doesn't matter as much for this match up, I'm sure.

Sandwich is not GG, just don't get reset.

Corner lock is very smart if you can get it.

Turtle, turtle, turtle.

Take every random 1k you get off of CH lobelia > 214C.

Don't drop your 3C > george/pumpkin oki enders.

Maybe I'll post more in detail later. This is just a general game plan.

Save your meter so you can do counter assaults. It really helps especially when your sandwiched between Carl and Nirvana or in the corner. Carl's health is so low you might no even need BBL. Use wind to get away if your sandwiched in the corner. Be careful doing it mid-screen, Nirvana might hit you or you'll accidentally put yourself in the corner. Turtle and spam projectiles. Instant block Carl's block-strings and Nirvana's long finger poke(forgot the command). Not a good idea to air tech in the corner, because you'll get hit by Carl/Nirvana's 8d, just wait patiently for the combo to end so you'll tech on the ground.

Oh, that reminds me, if Carl tries the old corner air tech clap reset trap, glance at your wind. If you have at least 1 in stock, DO air tech, and then 9D away from the clap and out of the corner. And then laugh at Carl, and shout "Rachel away!"
