Kanebou Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I'm surprised to see no discussion on this game, but it's probably due to most people not knowing about it. (CS coming out and all...) I'd like to hear some discussion on this game, and hopefully find another Charlotte player with some tips. I mean, unless the main community is boycotting this game, I'd think there would've been some dedication to it. (GFaqs community is all this vs. SC4 at the moment, no help there.)
Mightfo Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Reports indicate that it is not good. You'd probably be better off playing Soul Calibur. It's hardly Samurai Shodown. Hopefully SNK picks up the act with KOF13. Seems like it so far.

Seems most people just don't care for the graphics, but it's not like this was expected to be a cutting-edge game by any means. As far as it being unlike SS, I'm aware, but that alone doesn't make this any less a decent game. Gotta be someone else out there playing this. I just tried a quick match, and no one is hosting a game... maybe I AM the only one...

Some of my friends tried it last year in a japanese arcade and they did not care for it, they said it was basically a poor mans Soul Calibur. Apparentely the gameplay is a bit clunky and the animation is a bit iffy as well. They had more fun with Saint Seiya: The Hades.

Oddly enough, some characters have similar stances, but completely different moves. Laziness or intentional? Intended laziness? I dunno. I guess the thing to do now is wait for the price to come down and hopefully more people will give it a go.

Feels more like a Budokai game, with crappier graphics, terrible music and the worst way possible to show off the techniques. I was waiting for a SS game since... 1991, and when I finally get one (never checked Sanctuary one, but I guess it's similar) I get slapped in the face. General_Tobias Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 this game sucks, you wanna know why. you can't move backwards at all (well you can but at .00000000001 millimeters per second) and yet you can dash forward very quickly. If the movement were not broken this game would be at least a half decent Soul Calibur clone (which I would enjoy)

Anyway I did give this game a try and there were a couple things I liked.The visuals were nice and Nakoruru was able to cancel into grabbing Mamahaha after doing forward kick or Rera Mutsube on block. I think it would be a good idea to incorporate that into the 2-D games. It truly was a fun game, but the overall game play is sloppy. It only makes sense that people shouldn't bother playing it. What's really got me wondering is why Battle Fantasia has no love.
