I only dick ride for oso's carl, haha. I actually did quite good against his carl last meetup, though! 50%ish win rate at least. Getting used to that matchup is very satisfying.

I do get whooped by his bang though, but I haven't played his bang that many times in a row or anything so I just haven't gotten used to it yet.

Yeah, I get that, I just wanted to push you some. I would play later but I almost always spend time with a loved one after 8:30, in case you wonder why I never go later on a weekend.

If you really feel tired from work and shit and need that weekend sleep, then don't worry about it.

Also, while a big meetup is a bit more fun than a small one, IMO it's not that much more. Having 2 people to rotate with is about 90% as fun as having a bit 15 man meetup. But having a meetup that big is very satisfying, I have to say.

and as for bang-ness Oso's just got easier to read for some weird reason after i let him get that perfect on me. the next couple of times i played against his bang i was like "...low. high. punishable.*combo*"

But...teh big meetups T-T (I like variety in my opponents gives me a chance to get experience in a game I hardly play as is)

I know what you mean by the readability, though I don't know what makes me less readable.

See, I feel the opposite. Even when I don't have that much time to play, I'd muchhhh rather fight the same person over and over so I can really develop an understanding of how they/their character plays and "get a lot more out of" my time. I feel like random match experience is too fleeting. I wanna get those matches going like clockwork.

Also, forgot to comment: my litchi is stilll fairly poor. Still getting used to applying her blockstrings and really need time to get used to her neutral game. Not having a 5b as quick as bang's and having a lot more choices at range means I have to slowly get used to when to use 2b, 6b, 5b, 5c, 6d, etc. I really like her stuff though, may eventually play her a lot more than bang and just go to bang for FRKZ blockstring nonsense.

J.D is pretty legit. I'd imagine IB->j.d is serious business, especially on characters who have lows that aren't as fast to recover as bang's.

readability is just hmm...it's like sort of taking the short first round to gauge what your opponent does in the first round against your normal stuff and taking it a step further...tl;dr version: dat yomi.

i understand the wanting to play a person but trust me no two bangs or in my case no two rachels(yeah i know a couple of god tier rachels) are the same, my buddy gil and i have yomi set to like level 9001 in our matches but against his buddy i have yomi level 1 or 2 since i don't play him too often, when you play a against a certain person for long enough you start seeing the matchup as against them as opposed to against the character which is detrimental. I mean shit I played cheebz sol long enough to know he's read past my kabari zoning to bandit bringer over that shit, so instead of kabari-ing i get into the situation he remembers and wait for him to expect the claw on wake up, after that i punish it. will i do that against another sol that does that? maybe. will it be as effective? probably not, since i'm already used to cheebz sol. It's harder to seperate learning the matchup against a player from learning the matchup against the character. cuz i mean anthony lost to my haku when i pulled a wake up zantetsu. shit was unsafe. shit was so telegraphed and punishable. but he fell for it because he thought " there's no way in hell he's gonna do something unsafe."

in other words I like playing a variety of people because it helps me see how certain characters get used in a diverse way, i.e. I bust out that wild haku style when my opponent is starting to read my "sheathed" haku style, whereas my buddy skeletal plays haku by the book with gdlk execution. plus it helps me kick up my yomi in a game i need more yomi in.(i.e. i figure shit out in the first round like i should, then i bring that salty runback out if i didn't manage to lame out the victory in the first one)

speaking of which I get lame out victories more in bb o_o it's weird seeing how desperate people get once they hear that "look at time" announce.

tl;dr version: I like playing more people, helps me learn what my own haku style can do against certain matchups rather than reading about them. and gives me a sort of "think on my feet" style of learning which is honestly what i remember most during tourney matches.

edit: gdlk kamui footage. i played some arcana with cheebz and jet last week.

and daemon bride...we need to play that somehow.

lmaooo i kept mashing shoryu so much for some reason when i played a little makoto at once meetup. i wasn't even thinking "SHORYU". i was doing a blockstring and then somehow instead of continuing with 236a my hands went I HAVE A SHORYU!! and i did that instead. pro as FUCK

Also, I'll be up for playing online a lot this december(like, past december 5th) on days when there's no meetup going on or neither of us have time to go anywhere for one or whatever. BB, KOF2002UM, and maybe SSF4 if I'm enjoying juri enough. I'd imagine online between two people so close should be solid as fuck, too.

Yeah, I totally understand what you mean. Playing online in CT quickly showed me that players of a particular character will vary wildly and if you're not aware of that you get fuckeddddddd.

I guess I just really enjoy playing the same person a lot because the matches end up really smooth and I fully understand everything that happens and get to notice everything the other player does different, new tricks they pull and such.
