House is gonna be quite empty tomorrow so I figured I'll finally come out if there's stuff happening this weekend. Almost everyone is going to Texas Bar Fights out in Ft. Worth for BBCP. Next weekend is a ranbat at FX Game Exchange which you need to go to.

Anybody and everybody who can come to the ranbats this Saturday at 2:30 at FX Game Exchange in Plano (/plug) please do. The turnout was really low this week and it makes the scene look bad when we start showing up with 7 and 8 man brackets. If you're upset about not winning money, come practice and get better, or put your name on it and play some money matches, I fully endorse gambling, let's get the salt going. I f you're already coming bring a friend. If you don't have any friends, hire an escort, I also endorse Craigslist.

I'll probably enter it just so it can have more entrants but I highly doubt I am going to put any effort to get good at that game. We don't necessarily have to start running it in the middle of the season if it's more of a headache for chris. I think it would be a smarter idea to just run casuals in our current season and maybe after Love Max!!!!! is out (in late May) we can add it as an official game if there's enough interest. But that's up to him really, personally I'd love it if we did decide to run it right now and have enough people to play it each week. And with that being said I have two copies of the game, I'll be bringing them and probably Melty as well to the ranbats this weekend. Let's get SUGOI AS HELL.

Anything you can get people for, I'll make a bracket and whoever is around can report results, the bracket program I use is really simple and I just do payouts and points at the end of the season by going back and looking at the brackets. The issue is just the number of setups; we don't really even have enough as it is for when the tournaments are going. Once GG gets going and BB starts, there are like 3 tournament setups, and maybe one or two for people to get warmed up, and if there's no casual setup and people have to play their BB matches cold because there's like a 5 man bracket running on an AH setup people are going to get salty. We have a lot of people who can bring consoles, but there aren't enough monitors to go around. If Oso isn't selling his monitors for some dumb reason like saying he's quitting games or something I might get one and recruit someone else to bring a PS3, but even then the more setups we have the better off we'll be. Last time MB was there that guy whose name I can never remember ran it on a lap top so if you want to do that go for it, but I might need people to play their matches in other games to keep the brackets moving along. Regarding the ranbats in general, I'm trying to figure out a better way of doing the brackets and points anyway so I can post them, but challonge requires an internet connection to run properly, and the one I'm using now has problems with the upload feature. If anyone can run a facebook/social networking anything for us, that seems to be how everyone who isn't on here found out, I just have no idea how to do any of it. In the future if Oso continues to show up I'm going to have him record on my SD card so we can upload every match, because the way it's being done right now where only some matches get recorded isn't really going to help people improve since they probably don't get any matches uploaded if they go 0-2, myself included #fuckingBBCP If you have the gift of gab, know anything about the games being played, or speak English, please do commentary. If we have anything other than just raw match footage to entertain anyone interested in going that watches a match, it might help. Since we're pretty much down to two main games with the apparent death of p4, I'm considering raising the entry fee for BB and GG to increase the pot size to something people would actually be willing to practice for. I can be convinced otherwise, but unless you have pictures and two forms of government ID to prove someone's been forcing you at knife point to smoke all your money through a crack pipe, I probably won't believe you when you tell me you can't afford a five dollar tournament. Unless you don't have a job (beta, I'll sponsor you, but I get ten percent and I get to choose your tag). It would also allow us to pay out for second and third provided we had enough entrants. tl; dr, we're coming up on the third ranbat of the season and I'm going to do some things differently and try to run things as well as possible, but if we keep having sub 10-man by the end of the season especially for BB, we'll be in a bad spot. I take the majority of the blame for not being better at the internet and promoting but fuck you, come at me bro.

I wouldn't mind paying more to enter BB & GG. I suggested adding AH3 since P4 died but we'll see how many people are willing to enter. I really do wish we can get more people to come out to ranbats. Maybe we should have had made flyers to hand out during TBF, *shurgs* idk.

It would be better if someone else uploaded anything to whatever account we want to use cause I don't have fiber. I can however post all the match videos to the Facebook group, I could also setup and moderate a twitter account that could be set to auto-post whatever gets uploaded to youtube.

cookie` Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I have two monitors technically, I'll lug that bigass 32" monitor for usage at the ranbats, and you guys will have to put up with the 3 frames of delay or whatever dumb excuse you come up with after losing your match. Probably will just be used for AH3 though unless you really want to throw it up for a ranbat setup or we don't have enough setups next week. Also assuming I don't need this laptop for melty I could throw together some jank-ass template in Illustrator and record brackets on that if needed.

Shoutouts to me winning 4 man P4A without phor in it. With nobody in it, it almost made Akihiko look good. Shoutouts to Dances with Ninjas for going back to Bang after losing our manly wager. Shoutouts to having like 4 bags of money on the way out, making my money back on side games. Shoutouts to the 360 stick i borrowed from my friend, which i borrowed specifically because MY stick drops inputs, and his stick refusing to work for any 360 in the room, causing me to have to borrow sticks anyway and not landing combos because it feels weird. Shoutouts to Aya, i haven't played a Noel in CP who could counter poke me so well, blew my mind and my life bar. Good times, also tell your brother to play more SC5. Shoutouts to my non-eating rule while at a tournament causing me to miss that sick ass bbq truck and annoying me for the rest of the night. Shoutouts getting yelled at up at the front desk by the guy that wasn't Kent or Jeff for entering so many games and holding up 3 of the brackets for a ridiculous amount of time. Shoutouts to Transient and our JStars/Dengeki anime talk for being more hype than whatever was actually going on. MOST OF ALL, SHOUTOUTS TO ME GETTING INVITED TO CURLEH MUSTACHE SOUTH. Im unsure why but i assume it's because im like the only active Oklahoma player, meaning that for once the terrible state i live in for fighting games did something good for me. I wish i lived much closer so i could like, yknow, come play some shit with people.
